Appearance: Silica is, most of the time, a rather average looking woman most often seen in business attire. Her common outfit consists of a pencil skirt, blouse, cardigan and high-heeled shoes at work, and her white hair is done up in a high ponytail reaching back down to her shoulders.
When she gets to have some time off, however, she often lets her hair out, turning it a shade of violet, and dresses much more casually. This often involves cropped tank tops, short shorts, occasionally jeans or leggings and running shoes.
Though she isn't exactly a combatant, she has a bit of experience, and thus has a set of combat attire as well. This consists of a pair of blue jeans, a tank top, boots and fingerless elbow gloves. Her hair is usually made orange and made into a compact bun on her head.
History: Silica was the child of a small business owner in Atlas and her husband, a soldier in the Atlesian military. Her father was a war veteran, and didn't want their daughter to have anything to do with the army and fighting, so he let her mother decide on raising her for the most part. As a result, she studied plenty of arithmetic, physics, history and natural sciences, making her pretty knowledgeable and well-versed in the matters of the world.
When she was 17, her mother had her travel the world to see it for all its glory and shame. The trip was going smoothly and without much to note about it, with her visiting Vale and, briefly, Vacuo. Her visit of Mistral, however, was different. She had already met many of her mother's business partners during her travels, and thus far they had all been rather dull people. The man she met there was different, and his name was Marvin Royale.
She immediately felt a liking towards him, and he convinced her to ditch her entourage for a night, disguising herself with her semblance. Marvin showed her around the less tourist-friendly parts of Mistral. She was quite taken aback by all of this, having lived a relatively sheltered life. Every moment she spent there, she was scared. Things seemed to be getting worse when Marvin Royale met up with a group of obvious thugs and mercenaries. What followed was something she would never forget.
Marvin shook their leaders' hand and conversed with them with ease, both sides showing respect for the other. The leader, a wolf faunus, happily informed Sir Royale that his family in Menagerie was doing well thanks to the investment Marvin had made in his little 'start up'. Apparently, they had started protecting border villages from threats, including other mercenaries for little compensation. Still, their services had gotten popular enough that they couldn't complain about income in the slightest.
Silica learned that day not to judge a book by its cover, her respect and liking for Marvin growing even larger. She eventually had to leave, but during her short visit of Menagerie, she met with the family of the merc leader, who welcomed her warmly.
When she returned to Atlas, she told her mother she had figured out what she wanted to do with her life. She wanted to help make it better through the means of politics and business. And to do so, she contacted Sir Royale and asked for a position when she was 18. He accepted her, and soon she became his family's personal assistant.
She made good friends with both him and his wife, though she felt a tingle of envy towards her. She was never too good with their son, Reginald, though, and matters were made worse when she had to become his own personal assistant. And now, she's been told to stay at Beacon and monitor the little brat's progress. Still, she keeps going, but only out of respect for his father.
Personality: Silica was raised a proper lady from a young age, so when it comes to official situations and her work alongside Sir Royale, she tends to be very attentive and professional. During her time working with Reginald, however, she is much less so.
She will act nicely to people she has respect for, but still tends the act aloof when off-duty. She can come off as easily irritable when dealing with people she dislikes, though, but she rarely holds grudges.
When faced with combat, her main concern is most often getting out alive and well. She can even go as far as to make deals with her opponents, act sleazy or mask herself with her semblance.
She sometimes uses her semblance to hide from people and spend some time alone. She quite enjoys walks in the fresh air.
Aura and Semblance: Silica's aura color shifts between three colors -
white,
purple and
orange - depending on her mood (Content, sad/bored, happy/angry).
Her semblance allows her to change the appearance of her face and make minor changes to the appearance of her build. She can rather convincingly emulate any face she's seen, or create new ones on the fly. It doesn't take too much out of her, and she can keep a new face up for several hours. Doing something as simple as changing the color of her hair takes almost nothing out of her, and she can keep this up for days, though she can't do it in her sleep and reverts to her normal appearance when resting.
Combat Behavior: She is not a combatant, but when she gets into a fight she generally keeps her distance and sticks to conventional methods of combat, such as using firearms or doing simple attacks with melee weapons.
WEAPONName: G-12
Primary Form: A simple Six Gun with star decals on its side, a leather grip and iron sights. Uses 12mm ammunition. When she carries the weapon, she either conceals it under a jacket or carries it openly in a holster on her thigh.
Dust Functions: Along with regular ammunition, Silica carries rounds filled with
lightning dust, a total of 30 rounds, made to incapacitate foes. They have much less power behind them than regular bullets, but are intended to send a powerful shock to their target.
History: The weapon was issued to Silica during her third year working for the Royale family, after Marvin Royale became worried about potential attacks on his family. It was a prototype for a non-lethal weapon at the time, and Marvin allowed Silica to rename it. She decided to call it 'Gun-12', referring to the size of its rounds and the fact that it is, in fact, a gun.
