Appearance:
Hyacacinth stands at 5’5” 135 pounds, though she often stands with her knees bent and back hunched, bringing her down an inch. Her skin is incredibly pale, with her hair only slightly darker. This makes the dark horns sticking out from the top of her head all the more striking. Her face is thin and angular, with a pointy chin, high cheekbones, and amber colored eyes. Hyacacinth’s body isn’t as small as you’d expect for a streetrat, she usually managed to get good meals and as a result she has an especially well developed lower body, allowing her to jump greater than average distances and heights. Used to wearing whatever clothes she can get her hands on to stay warm and dry, her sense of style is rather eclectic and varied. She sticks to dull colors, mainly gray and brown, and usually favors function over form.
History:
Hyacacinth’s life began with struggle. Her father wasn’t around, and her mother was barely able to support herself with multiple jobs, leaving her little time to take care of Hyacacinth. Her general abandonment of Hyacacinth was only compounded with her death when Hyacacinth was five. That left Hyacacinth completely on her own, and without any guidance she quickly devolved into a near animal. She learned to take care of herself quickly, learned to steal what she needed, and learned to defend what she’d stolen from the other kids. When she was eleven, she tried to get into signal for the free room and board, unfortunately she was a homeless child with no training and was rejected.
After that, Hyacacinth found where she was lacking and desperately tried to improve to be able to attend Beacon. She had always been a skilled climber and she used this to scale walls and steal things that were otherwise inaccessible. She gave half of this one of the older kids to help her hone her fighting ability. She used this ability to defend her Stolen Goods from the other kids. She found that while fighting, she had the urge to kick her feet back and headbutt people, but she found that it always hurt her head. After a long time doing this, she discovered that it didn’t hurt anymore, she figured this out around the time cuts started randomly healing on her body.
Hyacacinth also found kindhearted neighbors and street people to teach her “fancy book learning” which she knew was just as necessary to get into beacon. She struggled with it and although she learned how to read, she never did it well. Hyacacinth was taught about the history of Vale, strategy, math, and all the other things she hadn’t known for the Signal entrance exam. She got into Beacon with low test scores but reasonable combat ability. Due to her undocumented past, she was able to lie and get into Beacon a year early without much issue, enabling her to get the three hots and a cot a year early.
Personality:
Has trouble fitting in with people. She grew up with limited social contact in a very different society than others at Beacon. Often she is brazen and brash, and could be seen as uncivilized.
Not used to bending to the will of others, she has trouble with authority that has no immediate consequence to disobeying. Meaning, she’ll readily drop her weapons with a knife to her throat, but would have trouble grasping the farther reaching consequences of ignoring a teacher.
Aura and Semblance:
Hyacacinth has a purplish blue aura. Her semblance is the ability to harden parts of her body to the point of taking little to no damage. Hardening joints renders them immobile. She uses this for her attacks, but since she can only harden a small part at a time, a bit less respect than a square foot, it’s not the most useful for defense. It takes 1% per use, including shifting the section that’s hardened, and it lasts for only a few seconds per use, and she can only have one continuous space hardened at a time.
Combat Behavior:
Hyacacinth devotes her whole being into brutal, all or nothing rushdowns. She doesn’t wait for strategy or thought, instead dashing in with powerful lunges and leaps powered from her bulky lower body. This method of attack leaves no room for error and is based partially on intimidation, When she needs to be more cautious she’ll unwind her chain and whip it around someone, trapping them or bringing them closer to her.
She does not work well with others, her unwieldy attacks have the chance of hitting her teammates, and she has little concern for their safety. She also tends to not listen very well when people disagree with her. If she thinks she knows the best course of action, she will be very committed to what she thinks is best, and though she's often right due to her observational skills, it's still hard for her allies to deal with.

A bat, somewhat resembling a cricket bat, as it’s vaguely rectangular in shape. It’s a blunt weapon made for cracking skulls and dishing out trauma wounds. Though it’s made of a light alloy, the end is weighted to give it some heft.

A length of chain, usually wielded wrapped around her hand on one end and then doubled over.

Has a spike on the end weighted slightly more than the average link, this spike holds force dust and can be triggered to eject it, making it swing in certain ways.
