Ash Feuer
« on: September 12, 2016, 06:11:33 PM »
Character

Name: Ash Feuer

Age: 18, Born 16th of Arashi, 63 AD

Species and Gender: Human Male

Symbol:

Occupation: First Year Student of Beacon

Appearance: A young man with red hair and pale skin who stands at 157.48 cm and weighs a small 52.16 kg.  Ash is of a slender build, and he doesn't appear to have large muscles of any sort.  Ash will typically wear a white lab coat over his dark blue turtleneck and his brown dress pants.  Ash's shoulder-length red hair seems to be the only thing he that he frequently takes care of, and he typically puts it up in a ponytail for most situations; however in a formal situation he will let his hair hang down.

History: Ash grew up the only son of two Atlesian scientists, and as he grew up they showed him how far ahead Atlas was in the terms of being a technological and scientific wonderland.  Ash's parents both were very proud of their Atlesian heritage, and this love of Atlas (and science in general) was passed down to their son.   Ash's calculative nature led him upon a different path of science however; while Ash's parents focused on slow steady research within the safety of Atlas and while they tried to teach their son their methods of precautions it was all for naught, for Ash was called to field research instead.  In Ash's eyes, field research would help the kingdoms progress far faster, and this philosophy lead to Ash's decision to be a Huntsman.  Ash's parents did not whole-heartedly approve of this decision, but their love of their son melted their hears enough for them to let him apply to a combat school.

Ash's first encounter with the Faunus species wasn't exactly the warmest greeting that a person could give out.  Ash had no interest in befriending the individual, but instead he merely wished to ask them about the financial, social, and physical aspects of being a Faunus.  Ash's curiosity does not mean he loves the Faunus as a whole; he just merely finds that it's more productive to focus on is projects than to spite or support a species that he has very little contact with.

Ash's time within his combat school taught him that he was not fit for close quarters combat of any sort; nay, Ash was meant to be a rifleman and this suited Ash just fine.  Ash's lower than average aura levels just reinforced his idea of remaining on the fringes of combat and firing into the fray with precise shots.

Ash's studies of technology and science led him to the conclusion that science itself was the answer to all the world's problems.  The enemies of Remnant could be easily defeated if the Kingdom's focused on pushing the boundaries of science, but from what he could observe only Atlas knew this.  Ash realizing that most of the Kingdoms were not nearly as blessed as Atlas lead Ash to the singular goal to show the other Kingdoms that Atlas's prowess with science and technology was the true path that the people of the world should follow.

And so after Ash graduated from combat school he made the decision to travel to Beacon Academy, Vale's most prestigious Huntsman academy so that he may show the students their the wonders that Atlesian tech can bring to this world; his most important goal is to participate in the Vytal tournament and show the entire world the benefits of Atlesian tech.

Personality:  Ash is a bit snarky, and he tends to sound bored; however this does not mean that Ash is emotionless.  Ash typically sounds the most excited when he gets to speak about his homeland, technology, and any of his new designs for the tech he wishes to build.  Ash will typically only spend time with people he finds worthy of his time, and this lends towards Ash making few friends.  Ash may sound downright insulting at times because he believes that people should be as blunt about a situation as possible and he dislikes it when people will beat around the bush; Ash hates lies the most considering that he believes that honesty is truly the best policy.

Ash believes that a person's best quality is their level of intelligence.  Ash will not despise people of below average intelligence, but he will not make attempts to speak to them unless he feels it is necessary because he might find them a bit boring.  The quality Ash hates the most is willful ignorance; he believes a person can be forgiven for lacking knowledge, but that a person cannot be forgiven for denying knowledge.

Ash hates the idea of returning evil with evil, as in his mind such an occurrence would only foster more evil into the world; this does not mean Ash believes that all crimes should be forgiven and swept under the rug as this will also cause more evil to foster.  Ash believes that the only way to defeat evil is to show people that the world is just a giant machine; in a machine every part is important, and in the world every creature is also important.

Ash has a tendency to get annoyed when people tell him that he can't do something, even if it is for his own good. This tendency comes from Ash's greatest weakness: pride.  Ash is very proud of the things he can accomplish, and someone telling him that he cannot do something is, in his opinion, a direct attack on said pride.  When Ash's pride is injured in such a way he will most likely still attempt what he wanted to do in the first place; this has caused Ash to end up in more tight spots than he would probably admit.

Aura and Semblance: Ash's aura is a pale blue color, and he doesn't seem to have a very high aura score with his aura levels ranking below average.  His low aura levels more than likely attribute to his wish to remain at a longer range than his opponents.

Ash's semblance is enhanced sight and hearing; this semblance supports Ash's attempts to keep the enemy away at all times and to be as far as possible from them.

Ash can see up to a length of 20 meters in clear detail when using his semblance, but this has the added effect of tunnel vision.  Ash's hearing is enhanced to the point that he can hear more than the average human.

Ash rarely makes use of his semblance outside of a combat situation seeing as the sounds hurt his ears and his sight's tunnel vision can get in the way of looking for things that are close around him.

Combat Behavior: Ash will use his energy rifle at a long distance seeing as he has very little close quarters combat training, and the fact that he has very little interest in getting close to an enemy.  He is currently attempting to design dust based projectiles that can be thrown, but he is not having much success in this endeavor.

Ash prefers to stay outside of an enemy's range of combat seeing as he is a bit fragile for a Huntsman in training.  In the event that the enemy begins to close in on him he will retreat to a safer position, or in the event he cannot flee he will spend most of his time simply trying not to get hit.

Ash will make use of his semblance when an enemy is at a long enough range to make said use viable, and he will not activate it when he is surrounded by enemies unless the situation is dire enough.

If Ash is within a team exercise or combat then he will generally attempt to follow whatever orders that he may have been given, but he will most likely complain about said orders if he finds them to be foolish.

Weapon

Name: Requiem

Primary Form: Requiem is a sleek metallic energy rifle that is equipped with a medium ranged scope.  Requiem requires an energy source (typically dust) to be inserted near the rear end of the gun to fire energy based attacks of the type of dust used.

Dust Functions: Requiem uses dust as an energy source to fire off attacks.  Ash has only implemented lightning dust as a means of a power source, but he plans to test other types of dust in the field at a later date.

History: Requiem was designed by Ash when he was first training to be a Huntsman, and he loves his weapon.  Ash has carried Requiem into the field ever since its inception, and he loves making plans to upgrade Requiem.

This is one of my old characters from the old forum, so I'm transferring it over.  No edits have been made, and the symbol will be up in a bit.
