Name: Mauve Roux
Age: 16, Born Machlud 22, 63 AC
Species and Gender: Female, Bat Faunus
Symbol: Two dark purple criss-crossed wings inside three narrow gray ovals. The wings have a thin white outline.
Occupation: First year student at Beacon
Appearance: Since she's only 5' 2," Mauve is a pretty short girl. She's about 107 lbs, which is pretty light. She's slim and shows very little muscle, though she does have some. Her hair is long and wavy, starting from black at her roots and transitioning to deep purple at mid-back. She doesn't actively hide her bat ears, just makes sure that her hair is conveniently placed so that it covers them. They aren't very large, only about twice as large as a normal human's ear would be. Her misty blue eyes are flecked in slate gray along the edges. This gray will spread as her aura gets lower and her semblance is used more. She has a faint scar diagonally crossing her left cheek, an even lighter line on her already light skin tone.
Mauveís casual/normal outfit: A completely lace-covered, plum purple dress. It has a long, loose sleeve with no backing for the lace and a high collar paired with a diamond-shaped cutout . The bodice is mostly fitted, from her collar to her waist, where the tulle skirt starts. Said skirt ends at her knees. She wears pointed heels as footwear.
Mauve's combat outfit: A sleeveless and turtlenecked crop top under somewhat of a silky drape shirt, but with a much lower or even nonexistent neckline and baggy sleeves. This is paired with leggings and pointed flats. The crop top and leggings are black while the drape shirt and flats are heather purple.
History: Born in Mistral, Mauve grew up in pretty good surroundings. Her father, Anderson Roux, was the latest in a long line of people who worked in the military, a powerful family, even if he married a Faunus of all people, a teacher at Sanctum by the name of Skye Navyn. When she was little, there was nothing that she'd love more than to be a hero, just like her parents. Since her father was often in Atlas and off doing business, Mauve felt that if she worked to become a huntress, she'd always have that link to her father. She'd often act out battle scenes with her older brother Rowan, the two siblings promising each other that they'd both go to Haven and work together, even though the dream was a little too hopeful. From the moment her parents saw the first play fight, they were happy to indulge the two in lessons until they were old enough to attend Sanctum.
On the side, there was the White Fang. In these days, the organization was peaceful, only boycotts and protests. Mauve and her mother were the only ones who directly showed up for they were the only Faunus, but her father always made sure to donate every couple of months. After all, he had married a Faunus, so the prejudice seemed foolish to him. Along with Rowan getting into Sanctum, their parent's anniversaries and all of the happy memories in Mauve's life, the White Fang was still there. Everything was fine, everything was peaceful, and life was good.
Well, it was until the White Fang's leader was replaced. Mauve and her mother were out, just like all of the peaceful rallies and protests. They couldn't handle all of the violence, the hatred, so they left. Though not very high up, Skye Navyn was a big supporter and a big part of the organization. She was the source of money and she played a large role, so the White Fang wouldn't be very happy to see her go. The new leader probably wouldn't miss her, but the resources she provided and the plans she came up with? No, they wouldn't let those go very easily. Knowing this, Mauve and her mother had to leave Mistral. They pulled Mauve out of school, made sure that all loose ends had been tied up and that all ties to the White Fang were cut. Then, and only then did they leave. Where did they go? To Vale, of course. The two never stayed in one place for long, still staying within the kingdom, but moving from village to village. They did this for two years until Mauve and her mother finally settled in the city, rebuilding the lives that they'd lost. Not long after, Mauve had been enrolled in Signal and her mother was hired to be a regular teacher. They thought that the White Fang had forgotten. But of course, they hadn't.
You see, during these two years, Mauve's father and brother weren't living the most peaceful of lives. It hadn't taken much work to track the money back to her father, and the White Fang, well... persuaded him into continuing his donations. So it happened like this until one day, poor, sweet Rowan decided to be the hero that he'd always dreamed of. By then, he'd graduated from Sanctum and was in his first year at Haven, so he was just enough to make him dangerously confident, but not enough for him to actually stand a chance. Instead of handing the money over, Rowan got in a little tussle, which ended in not only his death, but his father's as well.
Mauve was devastated. She'd always harbored hopes of seeing her brother again, once she was a huntress and on a mission in Mistral. But the deaths weren't all bad. They did have one good effect, and that was on Mauve. Though she was miserable, her hatred for the White Fang grew. Her hatred of everything bad grew. Fueled by anger and hate, she trained harder than ever, pushing herself to go past her limits. And it worked. By the time that she'd received the acceptance letter into Beacon, she'd grown into a decent fighter, became a star student-though her strength needed work-and had unlocked her semblance, not to mention that her anger had faded into an ice-cold hatred that could be easily controlled and hidden. Even though her birthday was in Machlud, after the start of the school year, Mauve decided not to wait. It would be years before she would be a real huntress, and Mauve didn't want to add another.
Personality: Mauve isn't the nicest of people, but she's not mean either and she definitely doesn't show it at all. She's a very socially aware person, perceptive and eloquent, usually knowing exactly what to say. She rarely holds back on her opinions though, even if they're shown subtly. Humor isn't exactly something that she carries in spades, but dry humor is. When tired or stressed, the sarcasm that makes Mauve herself can get a little offensive. Often, this and her tendency to become aloof at times make her come off as crass to some people, even if she tries and usually succeeds in being the perfect little socialite. Some people call her airy and snarky, and they're probably right about the former. The latter isn't exactly true, but they aren't calling her this just because. After the deaths of her brother and father, the sweet, hopeful girl was gone. In came a realist, tired of the hope that obviously didn't do anything. Not when the wishes wouldn't come true. She doesn't show care easily either, but when she does, it's always true.
When she wants to ignore you, to lose herself, to forget, or to just do it, books, mostly history and fantasy, are her safe haven, one that she won't show to anybody. As she considers everyone who enters an intruder, when Mauve reads, she does it alone, with no one there to watch. Once you break her tough outer shell, this book-lover will be glad to gush about books with you. Gushing very awkwardly, rambling usually, often disregarding the social norms she sticks to usually.
Mauve absolutely loves children, for they both remind her of herself and her brother, so hopeful and sweet. She knows that her innocence is lost, and she strives to protect the innocence that hasn't been lost. Harm a child and you'll end up as a corpse before the end of the day. This gives her motivation too, because believe it or not, she has a heart, and that heart won't let all those children be like her or have a life like hers either. Heartlessness and being unmerciful are also things that she hates.
A curious thing to look at is how Mauve learns from other people. She likes to take little things from other people's personalities and use them in situations when she thinks that they fit. She could imitate their whole demeanor or simply an expression that they used often. The person who she's most likely to adopt the persona of is her late father. To do this requires a very good memory, which Mauve has. Though she's not too good with names.
Oh, let's not forget cons. Mauve's? She's sort of a coward. Not with death or carnage, she's just scared of feeling devastated or out of control. She likes control and she hates to give it up. Her fear is not of dying, nor of death, it's of feeling helpless, and so she's not the first volunteer when these situations happen. Oh, she's also really bossy. To a fault actually. Not like she orders people around a lot, more like just expects people to follow sometimes.
As for studies, she's fairly intelligent and a good student with a knack for strategy, even if some plans are a little out of the box.
Aura and Semblance: Aura Color: Iris #5A4FCF
Her aura reserves are relatively high, a bit above average, but again, not by much. It doesnít have too much effect though. It can heal small cuts and bruises and soften blows, but thatís it.
Banshee Scream: A loud scream that when prolonged, can cause damage. It doesnít physically push away, only affects the victimís mind and aura. While sheís screaming, Mauve can slowly-but steadily-lower the victimís aura by 5% per second and give the receiver a large headache. You can still move, but itís much harder, and your focus is scattered. With Grimm, it just damages them. Theyíll still be able to move, though Mauve wonít be able to for her semblance to work. The standard scream uses up 10% of Mauveís aura every second that she uses it. Itís not all powerful though, as you can prevent it with good quality headphones or the old wax in the ear trick. Using your hands to cover your ears wonít cut it. She also canít control or pick who hears it and who doesnít. Whoever is in a range of approximately 30 feet will be able to feel itís effects. Because of how much aura it drains and itís cooldown of a day once itís been used for five minutes, even if they arenít consecutive, Mauve doesnít use her semblance very much, only when in dire need. Even then, itís usually only in short bursts that stun for a second, maximum. When she does that, 2% of her aura is consumed each time.
Combat Behavior: Mauve is very acrobatic in combat, easily dodging or flipping. Sheís very skilled in this behavior, for her weapon cannot block except for reflecting bullets. Even if it could, her strength isnít very good. Itís good enough to hold her own, but itís not something that she relies on. For instance, if she was locking blades with an opponent, it would be almost guaranteed that Mauve would lose, because sheís not that strong. Instead of blocking, since she lacks the power to, or absorbing the hit, which she isnít skilled enough with aura to do, she simply dodges. She prefers to stay in close range, but her bullets can be shot pretty far. Her stamina is actually pretty high, itís one of the things that she made sure to increase. If she has to use brute force, fight at long range, is matched with a speedy opponent or is met with a gatling gun, or rather any type of rapid-fire gun, sheís going down.
Name: Salvator Innocentius (Savior of the Innocent)
Primary Form: Two obsidian edged and rectangular purple sapphire blades on the ends of two separate titanium chains. If necessary, they can be held as normal blades and used that way too.
Secondary Form: With the help of a handy dandy button and a bit of rearranging, Salvator Innocentius can transform into two normal handguns with open ammunition belts so that Mauve can change between normal and dust cartridges, as well as change the belts easily.
Dust Functions: With Salvator Innocentiusís secondary form, the bullets she shoots are dust. She has three kinds, fire to burn, ice to freeze and lightning to electrocute.
History: Mauve crafted it while she was attending Signal. Knowing of her weakness in strength, she created a weapon that could be used using agility and relied on itself and physics instead of strength or force like a sword or hammer. Again, her brother and her lost innocence were the reasons behind this weaponís name, as she hoped to use it to save the innocent.
