Beacon Academy / Re: opening act [Open]
« Last post by Kingnoname1 on Today at 04:36:22 AM »
(Inversely my post but feel free to skip Saffron, for now, Iíll jump in if I think there is a reason)

Saffron thought to herself if she should give Azure advice. It wouldnít do much to even the odds and she felt bad about sending someone into a fight blind regardless of their enthusiasm. It wasnít her place and if this was truly to settle Azureís nerves about attending Beacon, she would have to earn her place without Saffron eventually. Win or lose it was going to be down to Azure. Regardless Saffron couldnít stay completely quiet and after setting up the arena. íRemember any AoE orientated attack could hit both her and her mount but donít be in a rush to bring it down. Being mounted is a big advantage in many ways but it leaves a few gaps, itís harder to fight front facing meaning she will have to struggle to bring her entire sword arm around if you engage her shield side and vice-versa. That also means you can aim to reduce her attacks or defences by choosing which side to engage on. Keep light on your feet and out of the way from any charges. Best of luck.í Saffron advised Azure taking advantage of the time Aurelia left to get changed. It was clear that nothing Saffron said would get Azure to reconsider this bout so might as well give her as best a chance. Thatís not quite enabling, right?

As for the arena itself, it was a mostly flat affair with tall but thin pillars blocking sight lines and charging avenues. Although a person could easily fit behind on them would be difficult for Aureliaís mount side on. To add some variety the centre of the arena was a raised flat area if the fighters wanted a more direct confrontation. As Aurelia comes back out Saffron finds her job mostly finished, offering the knight a warm smile before adding. íDonít go too easy but donít go too hard, best of luck out there.í Saffron remarked before standing off to the side clearly ready to launch into action if that was what was demanded but for now left the launching to Azure and Aurelia.

What Serin said was noted, though it was what Smokeyís reaction that she was waiting for. And Smokeyís reaction was unsatisfactory in Billyís eyes. She had a moment of looking hurt, just a moment thought. Her face started to turn a dark red as her eyes started to well with tears.

ďI was the one drowning you dunderhead! You know maybe if you thought and had map awareness, maybe we could have switched opponents and, oh, you know, won? Anyways itís not like I cared that you werenít coming out of the water or anything, idiot. Itís not like I the opponent knew that I needed y- to get you two out of there!Ē

She grabbed her pancakes and started stuffing them down her mouth. Little streams of tears started to appear. She hated to feel this way. She hated for people to see her this way. She was also very hungry. The combination of these things made it so she wasnít thinking straight.

ďAsh shoon ash Iím Fimished.Ē  GULP ďIíll meet you guys at Beacon.Ē

RPG Discussion / Re: Weaponsmith?

Well you could add additional weapon sections if you really want to describe modified/new weapons for your character to use in the future but that isnít going to be any less work for you. I donít think I fully understand your second question but if your character changes noticeably; whether unlocking another part of their semblance, coming to a new revelation on their personality or in your case weapon modifications the profile should be updated. Your character wonít be frozen, youíll still be able to use them meaning that if you go beyond the additional modification you draw out initially they can continue in their threads mostly as normal but editing should be done before they start any new ones.

Kin beamed at the other two team members joining, and continued nibbling his muffin before pausing to speak.

"Alright, so do you two know how to play thirty-one?"

1v1 Matches / Re: First Year 1v1 bracket- Round 1: Samantha Quartz vs. Camelia Sol

Weathering the - quite literal - ice storm without much effort, Camelia peeked from behind her shield again. Damn. The match hadn't stopped and her opponent was still hanging on (presumably) for dear life. This called for some more... involved measures.

For the first few instants, nothing changed. After about half a second, the well slowly accelerated, although all that could be seen was that the raging ball of ice shards, chunks and other partially lethal paraphernalia was moving; the well itself was obscured. Nevertheless, it began making steady progress towards Camelia's target, closing in the gap at the blistering speed of half a foot a second, ripping up more of the floor as its tidal forces pulled on undamaged portions. Still concentrating, she began preparing to launch it towards the enemy if they made an escape attempt.

At the mention of a card game he'd neither heard of or played before, Nathan's face became completely and utterly neutral. What the hell was thirty-one? Was it anything like twenty-one/blackjack? Why was Kin nibbling on a muffin like a rodent nibbles on a wad of cheese?

He turned to Izzy as, incidentally, the latter turned to Nathan and was met with an exceedingly familiar look - his own face was probably sporting a similar expression, right down to the mask's stillness. His teammate's eyes were a dead giveaway, though. As he appeared to... resign? himself to his fate, he moved towards the others. Nathan, on the other hand, didn't move from his chair (and also didn't move his chair), in true Nathan fashion.

Things were going swell.
