Lilla walks over to her bed and flops down onto it while Akel is talking. When she says “his girlfriend” Lilla blinks. I... guess she refers to herself in the third person...? Huh.

”He sounds nice. I wish I had a...” she pauses, unsure of what word to use. ”...friend,” she finishes inconclusively. ”This is probably obvious, but I don’t get along well with most people. I’m probably going to get transferred again.” She sighs. The silence hangs for a few seconds, then she yawns. ”I should probably unpack or I’m going to fall asleep.” However, she makes no effort to get up.
Yelping as a sudden weight pressed down on her, Samantha staggered for a moment as Camelia jumped back. She was glad she'd sent one chain to ground herself, using it to avoid completely falling on her ass- and levelling a glare at the other woman from beneath the mask. That semblance was annoyingly versatile. Giving off a grunt, she steadied herself, holding the still-screeching sword in her hand and gauging Camelia's own reaction, taking the time to consider her situation.

From what she could tell, she was heavier - probably meaning that gravity had been increased on her, judging by the announcer's comments and the whole giant-ice-pillar thing. In that case, she'd have to turn a disadvantage into an advantage any way she could. Faster falling wasn't always a terrible thing - her style was very focused on tempo and strong attacks, so she'd just have to emphasise that even more, use the momentum for spins and, now with help from her chains, faster-falling jumps. But all that was moot if she didn't manage to get a hit in in the first place - and that shield had really prevented any real damage as of yet.

Well, Juno did always say she had a short- short fuse, right, that. Either way, maybe time to take it all a bit more literally - she hadn't used any big, flashy attacks yet (at least, for her usual amount of destruction); now she had some information, maybe it was time to try and simply overwhelm her opponent. Drawing the sword up again, she started moving forward, chains dragging her along as she approached her competition, the two other chains ready to attack or try to drag her around attacks.

Jima’s come too far to just lose it like this.

Thankfully Rufus is the one who closes the distance between the two, saving Jima the necessity of closing the gap. She just manages to jerk back in time to avoid the sudden uppercut, spotting it just as he rushes in. The advantage of using a heavy bludgeoning weapon was the fact that wasn’t rendered useless by being frozen shut - so despite the fact her fingers burned where they made contact with the frozen metal, Jima retaliates with a heavy two-handed downswing to meet Rufus’ uppercut.

Also does this mean I'm approved?
The charge that Topaz had started was rather easy for Vivian to notice. She pivoted to face the other girl, raising both of her fists in a defensive stance. Unfortunately, she hadn’t noticed the kinetic dust that was currently loaded into her opponent’s weapon. She sent her glowing, semblance-shielded fist to meet with the strike, only for her hand to bounce right back towards her. The force from the attack carried through the bubble of aura, colliding with her torso and sending her back off of her feet [-5% aura].

After rolling to a stop, Vivian lay on her stomach in the sand, groaning some. This environment was really not working in her favor whatsoever. She began to stand up, but stopped as she reached a kneeling position. Instead of running in to trade blows again, she quickly drew her submachine gun from its holster with her free hand, letting loose a surprise spray of bullets towards Topaz. Her finger only held the trigger for a couple seconds, but with the high rate of fire, she had already emptied half of her magazine. [15 shots, wide spray, 3% damage each]

Ayaka was perturbed at the fact that Akel somehow recovered in a split second after being hit, and even more so at the fact that she flawlessly blocked her sword twice after despite its speed. The slight loss of focus ended up catching her in the ribs, literally, when Akel's sword transformed even more absurdly quickly than she could react. It was odd, but the throw didn't leave her helpless.

While in midair Ayaka saw the large chunk of dust and easily put two and two together, watching as Akel aimed for a shot and reacted quickly enough to activate her semblance as a mid air boost away. Using both feet, Ayaka flipped and kicked backwards, the motion being mirrored by her semblance. As the streak of white formed as a blunt force punching outwards, she planted her feet on it and sprung in the opposite direction away from the explosion.

Shards of rock and dust flew in multiple directions as Ayaka landed but she easily regained her footing and started with a sprint. The earlier explosion chained into several smaller ones, triggering the scattered crystals peppered throughout the arena in a cacophony of dust and fire. Small bits of debris hit Ayaka as she ran but coming from the direction of the blast she used the shockwave to her advantage and lunged forwards. No matter how big Akel's stupid sword was it surely wasn't enough to block all debris coming for them. Ayaka shot forwards with a rapid stab but feinted into a leap. With a semblance boosted jump she slashed for Akel's head from above as she jumped above her and replicated the attack from behind as she landed.
As she touched the ground she shot out wires in multiple directions around her. The ends of her wires landed near more dust crystals as more explosions shook the arena and Ayaka had to deflect a couple of bits of debris, shrugging off most while taking care of larger chunks with her sword. She now had her own back back to the safer side and decided to rock everything a bit more by pulsing her semblance through the wires to activate dust scattered about, particularly the ones nearest Akel. Be it just as a distraction of kicking up more debris Ayaka wasn't going to lax in her assault.

"I can ensure you Lilla, I do not snore, if our teammates do then I can buy uou something to help get some sleep. Maybe try and stay up a bit longer and you can sleep after you introduce yourself to out new teammates." Akel streched her arms out as she thought about how to best describe Juno.

"Juno is really great, he is very understanding and loves to play. He loves his girlfriend very much and is really sweet." Akel smiled as she said, a slight blush accompingly her face. "Our relationship is in a good spot. Which is nice because this is my first experience with a boy or girlfriend. So its nice that he is relaxed and understanding."
Infrared imagined she would be caught up much easier had it not taken Kei a while to consider his actions, but now she has the high ground and can wait for attacks to come comfortably defend with the high ground. When she actually look that idea was scrapped in the face of the fact that he simply broke off to advance his own plan.

Seeing him finally acting proactively makes something tick off inside her, however. Could he have figured her semblance out already? From what she has seen of his lances they can output a fairly powerful dust blast. If this many lances all unleashed their payload at once that could rough up the ground and knock her down or worse... or better.

Knowing more fragmented debris heading her way is more ammunition to redirect Infrared started to reload Reaction. The cloud of uncertainty still looms over her, however, and she is defaulting back to the state of readying her semblance as the response.

Yu damn near started salivating at the mention of sushi before realising that he had a mask on and that he could indeed do so. Still, one look at his eyes and anyone could see that something had clicked in the small faunus. ”…I hope so too. It would be splendid to savour what proper Atlesian cuisine tastes like for once.” he said, trying to hide his eagerness in his tone, all previous offences forgotten. Within, he was conflicted on what the proper course of action was. Lose decency and enjoy himself at other’s expense, or go home hungry but mentally content? He shook his head to try and clear his thoughts but they lingered.
If a 4th year like Infrared could ascend a mountain merely by jumping from rock to rock with what Kei suspected to be some help of her Aura, then another equally trained student with a speed-boosting Semblance could logically do the exact same with much more ease. After all, while he freely admitted that he didn’t have as much stamina as his other peers, his diverse Semblance allowed him to square up against the best of the lot - for a short while, at least.

Still, it wasn’t easy closing the distance against someone who knew the tricks of the trade. For someone who held a rocket launcher, Infrared knew the drawbacks and knew them well. Vulnerable to close-range, as with all ranged weapons, and the blast radius meant even short-to-medium was normally out of the question. For that she had her sword, covering her weaknesses. She’d already proven herself more than capable, a top-tier representation of what a 4th year could do.

Yet for all that, he was a 4th year too. He knew the trade as well as she did. And while she could specialise in one or two parts of fighting, he could adapt. And what he had in mind would quite dramatically level the playing field - literally. And if Infrared chose to assist him by blowing stuff up, the more the better.

Immediately turning right and ceasing his chase, the fencer begins a very fast circle around the mountain, drawing and embedding lances around the circumference. It’s worth noting at this point that Kei is around halfway up the mountain, where it isn’t as wide as below, and the speed at which he’s working makes him somewhat hard to track, though not impossible for a trained person of good caliber.
