The young man remained tensed, his enraged scowl focused on the metal armed faunus before him. With every word she spoke, he delved deeper and deeper into his rage. Caja was here. But this... this bitch could have her killed at any time. No... not could. This was Cerdic’s daughter. The man who had killed Caja’s father, and who had only been slain after wounding Caja in the first place. The woman before him had to have gone after Caja instead of him for that reason. She wanted blood. This was the risk he was running.

He couldn’t afford to show weakness, to let the slightest hint of his fears surface. He wasn’t afraid of Ms. Pistonfist and her Hoodie and Tunic entourage. No, he was scared of what they would do to Caja. He was scared to see what they already did to Caja. It was clear enough that her aura had been kept low, otherwise he would have been able to feel her. Through what means? He didn’t know, but it didn’t matter.

He would pay them back after this was taken care of.

Thankfully, Rory’s timely interruption in the midst of the woman’s threats to Caja’s life allowed Juno to calm down a bit. They themselves had a plan, and they could very well still execute it, if not work off of it. They had this under control. He had this under control.

Juno couldn’t hide the gasp that escaped his lips as Caja was brought out, her bound and beaten form all but dragged across the wet floor of the warehouse. Quick to remember his own task, however, Juno tightened his grip on the bag, stepping forward to meet the woman halfway.

”I’m going to need one of them.” he stated as calmly as he could, pointing at one of the two guards with their guns trained on Caja. ”What’s left of the suit won’t fit on you. Your arms are too big.”

(OOC: Rush and I co-wrote this over Discord -- seemed better than mini-posts back and forth.)

"...What do you mean 'what's left' of it?" The mech-armed woman paused. Slowly, a wry, spiteful smirk grew on her face. "Don't tell me... my old man took a chunk out of you, Vert? Is that how it went down? Well... that's unfortunate -- I was hoping to take the prize intact, after all -- but that's just how my father was, after all: no blow left unanswered. Alright, let's see it then."

Juno's eyes flicked to Caja before taking a deep breath and opening the bag, revealing the full suit of armor, along with the somewhat tattered soft layer. “Consider it a parting gift, I guess. The only thing I could really salvage were the gauntlets and greaves. It should be enough to keep the constructs stable, though.”

Gesa gestured to her minions -- there was a clear moment of hesitation on their part, broken when she growls and gestures more aggressively. One of the Fang grunts behind the floodlights jumps down and cautiously approaches Juno, taking uncomfortable glances at Rory's "detonator" as he gets close. Juno took a moment to pick up one of the gauntlets and the corresponding glove from the soft layer before handing both to the grunt. “Put it on. My partner here isn’t going to kill you.”

Rory kept a purposefully neutral but steadfast gaze on the Fang grunt, who seemed less and less sure of this idea by the moment. Still, when the masked faunus looked back to his commander there was no hint of relenting in Gesa's stern expression. Clearly resigned, the thug collapsed his rifle and tucked it away before taking the equipment from Juno, asking "So... how does this work?"

“Weapons are mapped to certain motions. When the system is active, I’ll run you through what the constructs are.” He replied, plucking a small black case from the bag and opening it, revealing a gray chip with faintly glowing green lines. “There’s a slot in your right gauntlet. You’ll need this to start it up.”

"Oh... kay..." The grunt took the chip and inserted it as instructed. The second the hatch closed, the gauntlets sprung to life, glowing green trails materializing upon the metal. After stealing another quick glance toward Caja, Juno took a step back, holding both fists out together in front of him.

“Do as I do.” He ordered before slowly pulling his hands apart.

The Fang grunt, watched closely by the rest of his group, mirrored Juno's movements awkwardly but accurately, eyes fixed on the verdant energy trails flowing from the gauntlet. Even Gesa seemed interested, lifting one eyebrow at the display. As the grunt’s hands drifted apart, the trails of energy began to take shape, molding themselves into the outline of a sword and grip. Once the very top of the blade had been formed, the outline began to fill with small hexagonal shapes until the blade had been covered in its entirety, solidifying in the man’s grasp.

Juno simply looked past the grunt, eyes locked on Gesa this time. “Anything else?”

The Fang grunt seemed impressed, twirling around the hardlight blade with a grin like an amused child. Gesa, unsurprisingly, was less entertained. She silently weighed the situation for a moment and, satisfied that the goods were real, gestured for her underlings to move Caja up. "So... hand over the rest of the hardware. Once your buddy turns off and discards his kill-switch, you get your girlfriend back. Simple, right?"

Juno tensed as he picked up the bag, his lips curling into a frown as he looked Gesa in the eye. “It was girl first, then switch. Otherwise who’s to say you won’t just kill her?”

Glaring, Gesa took a half-step towards Juno. "And who's to say you two won't blow us all away the moment you have her! I know what her Semblance can do. You three will just--"

Before Gesa could finish her thought, the unexpected happened. Without even a struggle, Caja suddenly broke away from her guards and sprinted across the water-logged floor towards Juno and Rory. The stunned White Fang were too slow to react; almost between one heartbeat and the next, Caja went from captive to nearly being in Juno's arms... nearly. Instead she side-stepped and slammed into Rory, pinning him against the wall and -- hands suddenly no longer bound --  seamlessly taking possession of the "trigger" and kicking the shield-fighter to the ground.

"The F~CK are you DOING?!" Gesa shouted, suddenly looking furious.

"This is taking too long." The gravelly, masculine voice that was heard as "Caja" removed the gag was most definitely not the woman Juno knew and loved -- this was an impostor wearing her likeness. The doppleganger tore off the blindfold, revealing gray eyes underneath that examined the device briefly before chucking it aside without interest. "A bluff, like I thought. Not as smart as you think, kids."

"Damn you, this wasn't the plan!"

"Plan's changing, Gesa." The imposter grinned sadistically at Juno. "You want your girlfriend back, kiddo? I know where they're keeping her. Let's cut a deal, shall we?"

The second Caja had broken from her captors’ grasp, Juno outstretched his arms, expecting to embrace the girl... only for her to shoulder check Rory. “You aren’t... Where’s Caja!? he exclaimed, rage written on his face as he flicked his wrists, a razor sharp spinning disk materializing under each of his palms.

The impersonator grinned, glancing at Juno's weaponry with a clearly impressed expression. "Now may not be --"

"TRAITOR! You've ruined everything!" Gesa's fists crackled with energy suddenly as she rushed "Caja", swinging with heavy-handed strikes that were just barely avoided by the copycat. Amidst the melee Rory, recovering from getting knocked face-down earlier, made a very concerning discovery about the liquid on the floor (and now all over him). He'd noticed a faint scent of ozone on the way in, but having gotten a face full of it he now understood where that scent had been coming from. The liquid on the floor wasn't water... it was airship engine primer -- lightning Dust suspended in a liquid cocktail.

This room, this whole building, was a death trap.

"Time to leave, boys!" The fake Caja ducked under a wide swing, kicked Gesa in the throat, and then pulled out and tossed a small device that looked unsettlingly like a grenade. "Fifteen seconds to boom!"

"Juno!" The concerned look on Rory's face, combined with his pointing at the soaked floor, made the meaning clear.

(OOC: So, to sum up... the Caja in the warehouse is a fake and a double-crosser, and the building is about to get a rather shocking demolition. Rush, I recommend Juno grab that grunt and run8) )

Chains slowly choking out the two white fang members in front of her, the other two snuck out and held them still, a mixture of trying to keep them quiet to prevent the others hearing and to narrow her eyes at the goings-on of the video feeds from Juno and Rory. Tuning into the sound, she laid the two knocked-out faunus onto the ground, holding her breath at the exchange before jumping slightly herself at the sudden burst of movement from 'Caja'. Her hands balled into fists as the turncoat kept talking, and she reached to start going through her suitcase and the items within before seeing the grenade and the reaction from her two teammates.

'Fuck.' she eloquently said in her head, grabbing the suitcase back up and quickly wrapping the chains back around her limbs again. She cast one look over towards the two knocked-out fang members, took a second to grab their scrolls and power them off (didn't want them to get tracked, after all) and then made to flee from the bomb-to-be warehouse, leaving the two there.

The sound of the gunshot made Verdant jump and made him freeze. Verdant was stunned if the wall of ice hadn't blocked the sniper's shot Verdant could have died right there. Although Verdant had no time to dwell on that he could see with his semblance that the sniper was chocking the rifle for another shot. At this distance, Verdant won't be able to fire multiple times so he had to make his only shot count, he drew a razor arrow and aimed for a killing blow. He drew his bow back and let the arrow loose and then got into cover.

Iason saw the man with the bow get into cover, as he looked for a shot, the sniper heard a whistling sound through the air. Before he could move the arrow ripped into his skin right beneath the collarbone. The pain was immense and the sniper dropped his rifle and fell to roof in pain withing on the floor. Iason knew that even if he died here it would be for the equality of the faunus, but as he started to pass out from the loss of blood, his thoughts became slightly less coherent until he didn't feel anything.

Verdant hated that he had to kill the man but it was to protect his friends, that made it acceptable right? He couldn't dwell on that now,  in the excitement Verdant hadn't been watching the Juno's video feed.
He called Juno to give him an update on Verdant's end "Juno, Sammy and I took out some the fang's back up." Just as Verdant finished his message he heard a massive explosion in the direction of the where Juno was doing the exchange. He turned around to face the direction of the explosion "No," and climbed onto the rooftop to head in the direction of the explosion.

That wasn’t Caja.

He had just staked Phi and risked the lives of his entire team for a scam. A con. The young man remained stunned as the person posing as Caja spoke. If this wasn’t Caja, where in the hell was she? This imposter said they knew where she was, but could he trust them?

No, of course not. They kidnapped his girlfrie-That’s a grenade.

A quick glance at Rory prompted Juno to look down to the floor, the impostor’s words ringing in his head. Fifteen seconds, and this warehouse would be a crater. They needed to get the hell out of there.

The young man wasted no time as he dashed toward his fallen teammate, all but scooping Rory into his arms mid stride as he bolstered his shoulder in aura. Ten seconds. He didn’t know what the walls were made of, but at this point, he didn’t care. There was too much activity at the door to reliably exit. As such, with Rory in tow, Juno tore through the thin concrete of the wall shoulder first. Even after he had busted through, he didn’t stop running, his momentum only changing once the grenade detonated, the force of the ensuing explosion ripping him off of his feet and flinging him from his teammate.

Juno landed gracelessly, tumbling against the ground until he came to a skidding stop against a parked car, overturned by the explosion. Nothing felt broken, that’s good, but everything was sore. Rory was... Where was Rory? Where were Sam and Verdant? A brief panic set in as he pushed his back up against the car, using it to steady himself as he got to his feet and started the search for his teammates.

(OOC: Sorry about the delay on this -- wrote it up earlier in the week and then forgot that I hadn't posted it yet, so my bad.)

The sharp report of a sniper rifle going off was the first of three -- three sounds that, even each on their own, could've upended the entire situation in moments. As it was, however, they happened in such rapid succession that only the last one truly made an impact. Scarce seconds after Juno smashed through the warehouse's cheap concrete, no doubt drawing the attention of any remaining Fang who weren't attentive enough to be alerted by the rifle fire, the true thunder flooded the area.

Literal thunder.

The ignited primer fluid did what lightning Dust is known to do. At the moment of ignition there was a blinding flash, intense enough that even those looking away and closing their eyes shut still couldn't keep out the light entirely. Under normal conditions the resulting surge of electrical energy would've gone in all directions, at least at first. However concrete, like that in the building's floor and walls, is naturally a very good insulator -- though both, the walls especially, would he wracked by the pressure wave mere seconds later the lightning was orders of magnitude faster. In that opening blink, that minuscule fragment of time, the storm of lightning that Caja's impostor had unleashed had exactly one direction it could go: UP. And up it went, a single immense thunderbolt that literally tore the tin roof off and flung it, in hundreds of charred pieces, high up into the air. For one brief moment, heaven and earth were bridged by a jagged wound of searing white light. Then came the shockwave, pulverizing the walls into concrete chunks no bigger than a dinner plate. What nearby buildings still had windows saw them shattered, and a few abandoned cars ended up flipping end over end... and that wasn't all the damage, not hardly. When the smoke finally cleared, literally nothing remained of the warehouse -- the blast had loosened the stone it sat upon in a chain reaction, the concrete foundation sliding off the edge of the canyon and into the dark below. It was hard to imagine how the White Fang members who'd been inside could've survived.

Rory woke up sputtering and coughing from smoke inhalation perhaps a dozen feet from Juno. He didn't remember when he'd activated both his shields, but apparently he had; shaking loose some of the rubble that had landed on him, he glanced around and saw the state of the area. It really, seriously looked like a bomb had gone off. "Is... is everyone okay?"

"WHOO HOO! Are we having fun yet? Because I sure am!"

Striding out of the haze, Caja's doppelganger strode over to Juno and offered him a hand. "You've got questions, I'm sure. Now's not the time -- the police will be on their way here any moment and, to be frank, the chances of your lil' puppy-dog still being in one piece after you've convinced the cops of what happened... eh, not good, honestly." She -- or he, by the sound of the voice -- gestured towards a relatively undamaged building a good distance from the blast site. "I have a ride prepared, and once we're out of here you can decide if you're up to do business or prefer your rescuing chances as is, hero boy." He turned and began to walk, changing over to a near-perfect mimicry of Caja's voice to add "C'mon Juno, time's a wasting!" Followed by dry, chuckling laughter.

Managing to get to his feet, Rory pinged Sam and Verdant's Scrolls while making his way over to Juno. "Okay, I have no idea what we should do now. Any thoughts?" As if on cue, police sirens could be heard in the distance...

The fox-eared girl kept running from the explosion-to-be, cursing repeatedly to herself in increasingly colourful language normally reserved for when she was out of coffee. The sounds of the sniper made her eyes widen slightly, turning back towards the warehouse for a moment bef-

There was a brief pause, like everything was in slow motion for a moment, before an overwhelming thunder-crack filled everything. She shivered for a moment in animalistic anticipation before the entire warehouse went up, the shockwave booming so incredibly loudly, blocking out everything else she could feel. Completely out of character for her, she let out a high-pitched scream, the sound slamming into her semblance and sensitive hearing, everything in her vision turning into a pulsed blur and the hearing being utterly overwhelmed, collapsing to the ground and clutching at both sets of ears despite the usual hatred of anyone touching them, curling up and trembling slightly.

She distantly felt several pieces of shrapnel fly past, but before long she couldn't feel much of anything, the blast having completely overwhelmed her semblance and her senses - and just laid there, practically blind and deaf, holding a hand over her ears and squeezing her eyes shut, chains having quickly unwrapped themselves and almost tried to cocoon around her to shield her from the overwhelming outside world.

The pinging of her scroll went unanswered, though her position was still visible on it.

Verdant ran across the rooftops, toward the direction of the warehouse as he jumped between the rooftops to try to get his friends faster, in his panicked state Verdant nearly slipped off the rooftops more than once. Verdant was nearly having a panic attack when suddenly he heard his radio crackle to life.  "Okay, I have no idea what we should do now. Any thoughts?" It was Rory thank god he was still alive.

Verdant quickly responded on his radio. "Rory, great to hear from you, a small question, what the hell was that?!?" said Verdant with an uneasy voice.
"It was a lightning dust explosion, it destroyed the warehouse. Best I can tell? Our mission just got more complicated. Upside is, if any of the Fang even made it out of there they'll probably be too disorganized to react right away. Juno and I are fine by the way, where are Sam and you?" Rory said with a cough.

"I'm fine, how about you Sam... Sam... Sammy?" 'Something is wrong she should have responded' Verdant thought. He took out his scroll to check Sam's location he could see that she wasn't moving. "Sam isn't moving she may be hurt I'm going to go help her," Verdant said as he turned on his heels and rushed to go help, Sam. He could hear the sound of sirens wailing in the distance heading toward where the warehouse used to be.

As Verdant ran on the rooftops following the tracker, he worried why Sam wasn't moving, whatever the reason was he knew it would be a problem for their escape. When he finally got to where the tracker said Sam was he looked off the edge of the building to find her curled up in a ball. Verdant jumped off the building with a loud thud.

Verdant carefully walked toward Sam trying to make as little noise as possible. As he approached his stunned friend, he spoke in a whisper to try and calm her "Sammy it's Verdant, I'm here to help you, just relax and I'm going to help you." Sam didn't respond to his speech. When he took a step forward he accidentally stepped on a piece of debris and it broke under his boot. The sound of this caused one of Sam's chains to flinch out at him, trying to ward Verdant. He was able to dodge it because she was just lashing out but this left an opening in her chains that wrapped around her body. He waved his hand in front of her face and one of her chains wrapped around his hand and she opened her eyes. Verdant smiled at her because he was happy she was okay, he stepped back as she started to get up.

He spoke to her as she got to her feet unwrapping the chains from around his hand and her body, "Sam, you had me worried there for a second there," Verdant said in a relieved voice.
She looked at him with confusion, as he spoke, "What?"
"Are you fine,Sam?" Verdant said with a bit more worry this time.
"Why the fuck is it so quiet..." she said with a bit of fear of her own, as her voice trailed off in realization.
"Hey guys I got Sam, but we are going to have some trouble." Verdant said over the radio to Juno and Rory. As if right on queue he heard the sound of the police sirens in the distance.

... Whoever this imposter was was going to be a dead man by the end of this trip. Now, however, he couldn’t risk it. Caja’s life was on the line, and this guy was their only current lead. They still had at least one advantage; this guy didn’t know about Verdant and Sam yet. Well... Verdant. Sam was alright, but there seemed to be some trouble on her and Verdant’s end. He’d have to check up on her once this was all over.

Gritting his teeth at the mimicry of Caja’s voice, Juno pushed off of the damaged car and followed, motioning for Rory to join him. As Juno walked, he sent a message to the team via his scroll, his eyes darting between the device and the impostor. Verdant, Sam, stay out of sight. They still don’t know you’re here.

With that, Juno pocketed the scroll and kept walking, a thin lipped frown on his face until he eventually spoke. ”Who are you?” the question was more a demand given his tone, though it was far from inappropriate given the circumstances. ”Who are you and where is she?”

Not-Caja chuckled, dipping into and out of mimicry with an almost uncanny -- and truly unsettling -- ease. "Who, where, why, what, how -- all the classics are running through your head right now, along with a hefty dose of adrenaline." The sirens in the background were definitely starting to get closer, though it was hard to say when exactly they would arrive. The impostor turned around but kept step and pace, walking backwards through the scattered detritus while stretching their arms casually. This time their voice dipped down from Caja's tones to match Juno's own, though the casual indifference behind the words couldn't be any further from the emotional intensity going through Juno's mind right now. "I know, I know, this is a very trying time for you... but try to keep in mind, to me this is just business. I'm a mercenary -- the Fang hired me to play a role and then back-stab you, but I opted to back-stab them instead. Why?" They lifted their open palms in a shrug. "Because, obviously, I can't trust them anymore than you can trust me. My back would be the next to get stabbed. This business doesn't run on courtesy, kids -- it runs on convenience. And on that note..."

Reaching the (mostly) undamaged building, the impersonator reached down and pulled up a large garage door. On the other side was a small junky-looking cargo airship the size of a Bullhead, the sort that was likely used for short-trip hauling ore or raw Dust. "Your limousine awaits, lads, and here's the key." The mercenary tossed a key ring with a small control chip to Juno. "Just plug that chip into the nav system you'll have the coordinates for where the Fang are keeping your lil' lapdog -- once I transmit the decryption key, that is. You'll just have to fly manual until then, and I'd recommend getting airborne soon. Once you're in the skies," He pulled out a handheld two-way radio. "We'll talk business. You'll be on your way, and I'll be out of reach for back-stabbing by all parties involved. A fair arrangement, I'd say. Or I suppose you could try to beat it out of me, then explain things to the police." Cupping a hand to one ear, the fake Caja stopped to listen. "I'd say you've got... about four minutes to decide. Tick tock!"

"Verdant. Verdant, I can't hear- I can't hear shit." Sam stated, confused and still fairly in shock. Everything was... it was- she couldn't decide whether the silence she'd not known for years was blissful or terrifying, the chains behind her still raised up and wavering dangerously. She blinked a few times, as if trying to get the sleep out of her eyes, before looking up at him in confusion, tilting her head as she saw his lips moving. "I- I can't hear you, Verdant. The fuck's- what's going on?"

For a good few moments, she seemed to be working herself up more and more into confusion, with a faint undercurrent of fright, a rattling sound ringing out from the extra limbs as they poised before all going limp to the ground at once, a long breath being released by the fox faunus, one chain sliding across the floor before gently latching on to Verdant's arm. She closed her eyes for a moment, before opening them again, a blank expression on her face. "Still can't hear you." She stated, not sure if he'd actually said anything for obvious reasons but saying the words nonetheless. "Just lead the way."

Despite how peaceful the quiet was, it was just the same as feeling blind - sure, maybe it hurts a little less on the eyes, but that's because they're not working at all. Not exactly the most pleasant feeling, especially when she knew they were in a dangerous spot. Of course, that feeling had started rising up like sick in the back of her throat, so- well, she just gave in to her instinctual reaction. Just don't think about anything in particular, go numb. Only way to ensure she wasn't suddenly going to lash out around her in this state. Wasn't like she was any stranger to blanking out, anyway.

Gonna be a bitch to deal with the emotional backlash later, though.

Verdant stood there with Sam in the alleyway with his hand to his ear listening through his in-ear radio to the conversation Rory and Juno we're having with the mercenary.
“Damn, he’s really got us,” Verdant said to himself.
“Verdant. Verdant, I can't hear- I can't hear shit.” Sam stated, confused and still fairly in shock.
“Hang on I need to talk to Rory.”
She looked up at him in confusion, tilting her head as she saw his lips moving. "I- I can't hear you, Verdant. The fuck's- what's going on?"
“Rory, stay calm and don’t react so this guy doesn't know your talking to someone.” Verdant didn't hear anything on the other end of the radio other than the sound of Rory's breathing.
“I found Sam but she is in no condition to fight, her hearing has been impaired by the explosion.” Verdant felt one of Sam's chains wrapping around his left hand, he turned around to see a dejected look on her face. "Still can't hear you, just lead the way."
Verdant pause for a moment and felt empathy for her.
“We're heading to you,  you in Juno and Sam can go in the airship while I follow the mercenary.”
Without waiting for a response that Rory Would be unable to give him, Verdant started towards where Juno and Rory were while staying out of sight himself.

[Scripted with Riven]

Juno scowled as the ring was thrown his way, snatching it out of the air with a tad more force than was probably required. A quick visual inspection confirmed that it used the same physical hardpoint connections as most other devices, which thankfully meant Phi would be able to take a better look at it than he would. Reaching behind him as though he were putting it in his back pocket, Juno slotted the disk into the hardlight generator, letting Phi work her magic. “And why should I trust a damn thing you say?” he inquired, a fair bit of venom in his voice.

Not-Caja shrugs. "Because it's your best and only lead, maybe? C'mon, we're just gonna burn through time with the second-guessing at this point. Deal, or no deal?"

After a few moments, Juno let out a resigned sigh. They had a point, and as much as Juno hated the idea, the only thing he could really do was play their game. “... I swear, I will find you one day. You aren’t getting away with any of this.”

"Which part: when I told you that your little puppy-dog is still breathing, or the bit where I turned a warehouse into toothpicks," As if it had been there all along, the impostor was suddenly holding and admiring a small switchblade. "Instead of trying to gut you. You're angry, I get it, and from your perspective I'm just part of the problem -- one of the people keeping you and Caja apart. But am I really? Think about it."

“Oh, you’re definitely part of the problem. How much of it though, I haven’t decide-“

”Pfft... ultimatetacotuesday?” the AI materialized on Juno’s shoulder, sitting down as she did her best to hold back her laughter. The girl’s sudden appearence prompted a bewildered look from Juno, which was quickly refocused to a glare toward Caja’s impersonator.

It wasn't immediately clear which almost caused not-Caja to stumble -- the appearance of the holographic figure of Phi, or the familiar password being stated out loud. Stopping to regain balance, the impostor momentarily fixed Phi and Juno with a blank stare, the kind of non-expression that happens when a train of thought is abruptly and utterly derailed. The next moment saw the face take on an impish, almost embarrassed look. "Weeeeeeell... guess that cat's out of the bag." With the sound of sirens getting nearer by the moment, it was clear that whatever was going to happen would happen fast.

And it did.

The switchblade being thrown at Juno's head was clearly just a diversion; an attack like that, even if it hit, didn't have any realistic chance of breaking his Aura. It did, however, come fast, and by the time Juno responded the interloper was already in a full sprint... towards the edge of the canyon. Every step let off a trail of thick, inky black smoke and Not-Caja seemed to be producing more of it by rubbing their hands together, creating a quickly-growing smokescreen.

Juno was quick to tilt his head out of the way of the knife, frowning as it embedded itself into the wall of the transport. When he looked back, the impostor was running as fast as they could, a smokescreen quickly shrouding them as the distant sirens grew ever closer. It was about time he and Rory hit the road too. “If Ver and Sam are coming, tell them to get here quick. We’re low on time and I’m out of patience.” The young man’s tone was probably harsher than intended as he spoke to Rory and Phi, but at this point he didn’t care. The day’s events were hard enough on him as they were. He just wanted to see Caja again.

Directing Rory to join him with a wave of the hand, Juno stepped aboard the ship, taking the pilot’s seat and plugging the navchip into the center console. However, Juno quickly approached another problem. ”Hey, uh… Rory. Do you know how to fly this thing?”
