CHARACTER

Name:
Anton Ua Duibhne

Age:
17

Species and Gender:
Male Human

Symbol:
A black flaming torch encased in an almost complete circle, with a gap either side of the base of the torch.

Occupation:
Beacon First Year

Appearance:
Anton is one of those men who appears more beautiful than handsome, with softer and more delicate features than one might typically expect on a man of his age, though it's hard to truly tell whether his good looks are natural or if they're simply perceived as such due to his semblance, and he's really quite average. Anton has an average height for his age at 5'9 and weighs around 200lbs due to how frequently he works out. His tousled hair is the colour of honey, and is of a medium length, while his eyes are a dark blue/grey colour, depending on how the light falls on it. His skin is more tanned than the average person from Atlas, though not by much, and he has a couple of small scars on his fingers from tinkering with his weapon.

Anton retains his class and wealth when it comes to clothing, preferring to wear three piece suits at all times, and only abandoning the waistcoat and tie for combat scenarios. He commonly wears black, grey and blue suits, but has a soft spot for red that he tends to save for special occasions. He dresses for the day, and isn't the type to ritualistically stick to one outfit like others. His combat gear, which is basically a red two piece suit that was loosed at the seams to provide the maximum possible mobility for Anton, is the most obvious sign of his background, as anyone with a lick of sense would tell you not to wear a suit to battle. That won't stop him though.

History:
The third born child of Ciarán and Éabha Ua Duibhne, a political family with more ambition than actual human decency, Anton was never going to have a normal life. None of their children were, in fact, as they were born out of need and greed rather than love. The eldest, Fiona, was expected to continue the political legacy of her father, while Nicholas was supposed to follow his mother's path and become a businessman of some manner. Anton, meanwhile, was singled out by bad luck to be the biggest symbol of altruism the Ua Duibhne family could create: that of a Huntsman, ready to give his life for the people, despite the fact that most of the people who he would end up helping would, most likely, be the sort of poor and racially inferior undesirables that the family looked upon in distaste. An almost dramatic irony that leaves a bitter taste in Anton's mouth, especially since his younger sister, Emma, the luckiest of the bunch if truth be told, was sent to an art school to become a famous artist. Still, the children were raised to be entirely without rebellion, to the best that can be achieved anyway, so Anton accepted his role in life. He didn't really know anything different.

His day to day life mostly consisted of schooling, formal events were he and his siblings were dressed nice and told to say nothing but polite pleasantries and a private education by a retired Huntsman so as to provide Anton with every edge that could be thought of by his parents. He learned how to dissect poetry, battle plans and people's motives in equal measure. Anton would describe his life as utterly boring, with things that could be considered truly exciting few and far between, and the only people he could do anything interesting with were his siblings, on the rare occasions they were free, and some of the more lax servants at his home. The only times he saw any other people his own age was when he was brought to an event, and even then they weren't allowed to play together. If anything, his fondest memory was the day he was sent to begin his education at Atlas, as he finally developed a level of freedom from his parents.

It didn't last, though. During his few years there, about half the typical length of an Atlas education, he made friends with a few people, as people tend to do. The problem, though, was that his father didn't approve of them, due to either their appearance, their apparent lack of class or ambition, or in one case, the girl being the daughter of a political rival. So, in an effort to control the shape of Anton's development, Ciarán had him transferred to Beacon as a birthday "present", stating that it would be a great experience for him. Anton, as always, smiled and put up with this, and is now waiting for term to begin, so he can once again get that taste of freedom he felt at Atlas.

Personality:
Anton is the model of a perfect child, humble, quiet and complimentary. He was raised as a stereotypical rich child, taught to be quiet unless spoken to and to always by polite to others, regardless of his personal feelings on them. Effectively, he, like his siblings, was meant to make his parents look good, not to be a proper child. They were status symbols, and were raised according to their designated tasks. For Anton, who was ordained the life of a huntsman so his family could look more altruistic, that meant a solid education in everything that would make his family look generous and earnest towards the world, making certain he was smart and mannerly and capable, an example to other students.

He maintains a polite and respectful tone with everyone, dropping compliments and smiles with equal measure so that people like him, while keeping a dry, acerbic wit that no amount of lessons was able to repress. Yet, this is an act, as the majority of people he has met are all greedy and selfish, who aren't actually worth the niceties he spouts. He is, at heart, much more cynical and cold than he presents himself to others, and is actually quite cold hearted. He can make the tough decisions that other people might not with almost ease. He's also racist against Faunas thanks to his upbringing, viewing them as second class individuals, though, as always, he keeps these thoughts to himself, the idea that the wrong word said at the wrong time could have consequences having been beaten into him young, so he knows only to share personal truths if they'll aid him, and bury them otherwise.

Anton has a taste for the elegant and fanciful, given his background, and enjoys the finer things in wine, preferring wine to soda and the theatre to a movie and so on. He also enjoys spending money a bit too much, because if something's worth getting, it's worth getting the best. So yeah, he's a bit of a hypocrite when it comes to the value of money.

As a whole, Anton appears as a strong willed and polite man, who's willing to debate on any subject and shows his wealth more often than not, but hides his personal thoughts and feelings unless they make him appear better in the eyes of people, as they're often much more cynical than what people would expect from him unless they really took the time to try and know him.

Aura and Semblance:
Aura Color.

When raised in the manner Anton was, you expect it to have an effect on a person's development, shaping who they are. Being raised with such a high standard for appearance and class, Anton's semblance developed in a way that allowed him to always present himself as well as possible. It creates a subtle illusion on people in a 5 metre area around him that affects people's senses, tricking them into perceiving Anton in a better light. Those affected believe that Anton just happens to carry an attractive scent, that his voice just happens to appeal to them perfectly, that whatever angle they're seeing him at is his best. In essence, it makes him appear more attractive, though he prefers the term charming. It doesn't have any real effect bar that, allowing him to simply appear at his best when activated. It also affects himself, which he finds quite humorous.

Anton's semblance is limited, though, by the fact that people have to already see his features as attractive for it to work. As people are often most dependant on their eyes, these are harder to trick than the other senses, which often change how they perceive Anton. With sight, the person has to like Anton's features, else he will only be average in their eyes. If a person doesn't like his eye colour, his semblance won't make them suddenly adore it, merely soften their dislike.

Combat Behavior:
A caster through and through, Anton's place is on the edges of a fight, where he can suppress, control and blast his enemies into the ground without hassle. His ideal combat scenario is one where he plays tactical and fire support with his weapon, using his different types of dust to either attack opponents directly, or alter the battlefield as required, while his allies handle the close quarters work. Anton has a sharp mind, but only in the heat of battle, creating strategies that are only a few seconds of work rather than long game plans, reactions rather than actions so to speak. His weapon is ideal for mid to long ranged combat, with varying types of dust to keep opponents pressured while he maintains his distance.

Anton possess mediocre hand to hand skills at best, focusing mostly on defence with an end goal of using his weapon to simply blast an enemy away from him, if possible. He finds such combat deplorable though, preferring his method of "fire and forget", where he simply Dusts away a problem.

WEAPON

Name:
Glorious

Primary Form:
A black sceptre with a golden trim the length of Anton's leg. The structure of Glorious is very simplistic, just a simple black shaft, with a gold band around the base and a golden head about the size of Anton's fist. The head contains several openings that allow the dust to be fired in a blast form. The dust is loaded into modified handgun magazines that are thinner and longer than usual, with a rounded outer edge to suit the sceptre's form, and are placed into the shaft about two-thirds of the way down, with a spring loaded ejection mechanism for easy removal.

Dust Functions:
Fire: Creates a simplistic fire blast aimed at the target that behaves as a fire blast would nomally.

Ice: Two differing attacks, depending on which particular type of ice dust Anton is using. Either a simple ice spike is created that operates under the effects of gravity, or a bolt of energy is released that freezes an area on impact, with an effective range of 10 metres.

Lightning: Shoots a bolt of electrical energy at the target.

Wind: Releases a sphere of compressed air that detonates on impact and causes everything in a small area to be bludgeoned and repelled from the point of impact.

Acid: An accidental creation, formed when Anton carelessly knocked over a combination of several different types of dust, that mixed on the floor and created a temporary patch of corrosive liquid. Further refinement has allowed Anton to weaponize this dust, with an effective range of 7 metres, and a lifespan of 3 seconds when fired.

Repulsion: It forms a repulsion field that knocks back anything that makes contact with it, and looks like a collection of purple shaded sparkles.

Gravity: Upon impact, this dust creates it's on gravitational field, pulling objects in a 10 metre area towards it for 4 seconds. It's not particularly powerful, mostly acting as a hindrance for opponents, slowing them down or knocking their shots off course.

History:
Glorious is Anton's pride and joy, his one foray into the world of mechanical engineering. With his family's funds at his disposal, and carte blanche to create a weapon that suited him perfectly, without appearing too brutish for his family's carefully cultured appearance of course, the chance to utilise Dust was too great for Anton to pass up, even if he was kept under the watchful eye of a professional to make certain he didn't blow himself up. Glorious was an early design that started as more of a flight of fantasy than an actual weapon, yet Anton kept finding himself working on it. Eventually, it found itself on Anton's workbench, and after a tentative test, hasn't left his side since. Besides, it doubles as a handy-dandy cane for when he wants to looks extra classy.

WiP Characters / Dayne Antares

CHARACTER

Name:
Dayne Antares

Age:
41

Species and Gender:
Human Male

Symbol:
A maroon shooting star over a brown flame.

Occupation:
Huntsman
Sellsword

Appearance:
The quickest of glances reveal Dayne to be an averaged sized man of no particular attractiveness, scruffy and unkempt, in faded brown robes that look about the same age he does. He has messy strawberry blonde hair that, when straightened, reaches to just above his shoulders, with heavy stubble that's almost half grey by this point. He has a plain face, with no real distinguishing features that would make him stand out from the crowd. His eyes are hazel and often bloodshot, with deep bags under them, while his nose is rather round and his teeth are more yellow than white the majority of the time. Dayne's body and arms are littered with scars big and small from his time in the field, with a rather pronounced one cutting a striking sight from his left shoulder to the small of his back.

Dayne prefers to wear loose robes while on the job, of a faded brown colour and made of different materials to suit the different climates of Remnant, that over a long career of spending his time in places that don't tend to have a tailor or dry cleaner, have really gone to ruin. The ends of the sleeves and bottom are torn and frayed, with each coming equipped with multiple holes throughout. In a sharp contrast, though, his boots and metal bracers are polished often and meticulously, and look to be in almost pristine condition. Under the robes, Dayne will wear whatever is suited towards the weather, usually in drab colours.

WEAPON

Name:
The Swords

Primary Form:
A collection of high quality steel bastard swords, plain and without ornamentation bar the dull brown handle wraps, and a trigger mechanism for the dust just below the cross-guard. The blades look exactly how they were designed, that is, with no sense of style or love by Dayne. They're just swords, as far as he's concerned.

Dust Functions:
Each of Dayne's swords contain a mechanism for using fire dust to ignite the blades, which have been designed to be as fire resistant as possible. The triggers are located underneath the cross-guard, the closest being used to release the flames in a ranged slash or stab, while the middle ignites the blade. The third trigger releases the magnetic lock on the scabbard, allowing the blade to be drawn.

History:
Dayne, back in his heyday, was like any other Huntsman, using a flashy self-designed weapon with a collection of cool tricks to it. But then it broke on a mission. And again, and again, until he realised that, while his weapon was unique, it was easy to break, with dirt clogging up mechanisms that could cost him his life in the heat of battle. So he abandoned it, and took up a more simple weapon, which, if it failed to activate in the middle of a fight, wouldn't change the battle at all, the fire being a tool, not a crutch. He traded the unique weapons that most Huntsman use for a set of weapons that excelled in rugged durability and simplicity. Plus, it's a bit more enjoyable this way.

Approved Characters / Aoife Alaura
« on: May 20, 2017, 02:00:19 PM »
CHARACTER

Name:
Aoife Alaura

Age:
17

Species and Gender:
Human Female

Symbol:
Opposite facing rose and poppy with intertwined stems.

Occupation:
First Year Beacon Student

Appearance:
Aoife is a pretty enough young girl, with shoulder length dyed mahogany hair, with her blonde roots poking through, and amber eyes. She's 5'4 and weighs 145 lbs, not that she's gonna tell you that. Her nose is larger than average, something she isn't very fond of, and she wears braces. Nadine prefers to keep her hair tied up in a French braid. In terms of make-up, she prefers it to be very in your faces, wearing dark red lipstick, black eye shadow, mascara and winged eyeliner sharp enough to cut with.

For her clothing style, Aoife leans towards the punk rock look, wearing a black denin miniskirt over a pair of crimson leggings, with a red plaid long sleeved shirt that she leaves open to reveal a black waistcoat with red buttons. She wears black combat boots and fingerless gloves, and has a black belt that contains a holster for the Ace of Roses as well several ammo holders.

Out of combat, Aoife mixes it up a little, replacing her leggings and shorts with a pair of blue full length ripped jeans, and swapping her plaid shirt with a black leather jacket. She also lets her hair down to flow around her shoulders.

History:
Aoife's story doesn't really start with her birth, but back when her father, Seán, graduated Haven. He was the typical student really, idealistic and hopeful, and he wanted to make a difference. However, he'd been forced into becoming a huntsman by his aunt that didn't want to mind him and was pretty okay with shipping off her last living relative to private school where he might die. No better way of getting rid of an unwanted pest really.

Also, Seán was a coward at heart. In school, it was easy enough to work around, with his teammates and friends close by to keep him supported and safe. But out in the real world? Where the only thing that kept him safe from the monsters was his own skill? He just couldn't hack it. He did try, sure, but even the simplest of jobs left him quaking in his boots, and after a few months he gave in. He rented an apartment in Vale and started blocking out his fears and nightmares with alcohol.

Seán continued this frankly pathetic existence for years, and when his debts started piling up, he'd attempt to gamble his way out of them. This didn't change when a woman he'd had an affair with during his brief stint at being a hero turned up and dropped an unwanted three year old girl on his doorstep. If anything, it got worse, as attempting to do right by the kid he'd never really wanted only added to his debts.

For Aoife, life started to go downhill pretty much immediately. She got in trouble with her teachers and started hanging out with the "wrong crowd", as they were referred to. As kid, they really didn't do much wrong, but with age comes stupidity and the teenage years. Aoife and her friends headed down what most consider to be the wrong road, drinking, smoking and fighting at a young age, and doing other stuff that'd make most parents weep. And beneath it all, Aoife was struggling with mixed feelings for the man that raised her but couldn't do anything for himself. She both loved and hated her father. Hated his cowardice and demons, but loved him for caring for her and trying his best to treat her to something good whenever he could. The one bit of rebellion she never brought herself to was skipping school. Doing so would waste money they really didn't have.

When Aoife was thirteen, Seán had a stroke of luck. He won big at a cards tournament, and for the first time in years they actually had a large amount of disposable income. Well, large for them anyway. Seán payed off his debts and managed to find a cheap house in the suburbs for them to move to, as part of his new plan to turn everything around and become a better man. Aoife, meanwhile, had by now decided that he really was never gonna improve all that much, and felt that she had to do something herself, else she end up on the same rubbish road that Seán was on. And what better way to do that than become the very thing that Seán couldn't: a huntress. She started on a mission to frustrate him into training her, cause he really wasn't all that bad a fighter, and using his style only made her goal seem that much more worthy of her life. Eventually, he gave in, having realised that she'd only end up doing it herself anyway. He used the last of his winnings to secure her a place in Signal, while also training her himself whenever he got the opportunity to do so. And, when she managed to get into Beacon, he may have opened his first bottle of run in years. But that's not for her to know.

Personality:
Aoife is a rebel at heart, doing her best to live her life by no one's rules but her own. She is one hundred percent focused on keeping control over her own fate, and won't let anyone boss her around without damn good reason. She's crass, arrogant, rude and reckless, and anyone who's in her presence is gonna figure that out pretty quickly, whether they like it or not. She's tactlessly honest, and very much in your face about it, the kind of person that'll call you out on your nonsense. Most don't like her for these reasons, but those that befriend her find that she's very loyal to her friends, even if she keeps the attitude with them.

Underneath this, though, is actually just a little girl that's tired of being pushed around in life. She's had bad friends and bad times, living life afraid that she'd go home one day and find her father dead, either from alcohol or a debt left too long. Despite his many flaws, she does love him dearly, and that's why she feels she has to become a huntress: so she can recover their "family honour" and prove, to the both of them, that the Alaura name won't just be known for cowards.

Aura and Semblance:
Aura Colour

Being raised by a gambler caused Aoife to learn how randomness can affect everything, and her semblance was born from this upbringing. In effect, she's able to infuse her bullets with aura that allow them to "bounce" off of objects, a maximum of seven times, though she can put in less aura for less bounces, if required. Aoife has zero control over what way the bullet bounces, making this semblance dangerous for everyone involved. The bullets cannot penetrate objects while bouncing, but still retain their force, so they'll still hurt if they hit. After the final bounce, the bullet regains it's normal penetrative properties. While shot, the bullet glows red and leaves a trail that persists until the bullet has lost all of it's momentum. Aoife can only use this once a minute.

Spoiler: ShowHide
I am going to use a random number generator to decide if it hit or not. 1-20, with the number of bounces being the number needed. So, if it came up with a 2, then it would hit on the second strike. Not autohit, but in the target would have to react. Final hit would act as a normal bullet.

Combat Behaviour
In battle, Aoife's a skirmisher, preferring to dart in and out of close quarters while hammering her target with bullets. Taught how to fist fight by a friend, she has what some may call a brutal style that focuses on beating an enemy into submission by repeatedly striking weak areas such as joints and the throat with her fists, feet, knees, elbows or gun, whichever is easiest at the time. She only goes in when she's confident in her ability to win the confrontation, which she attempts to ensure via her gun. Take a shot or two, dart in and strike, back up and shoot again. Aoife isn't very good at defence, however, and neither is she particularly strong. This, combined with her semblance's unpredictable nature, means that unless she gets in good shots with the Ace of Roses, her fights are probably gonna last a while.

When confronted with either a highly durable enemy, or a large group of them, Aoife switches to her rifle, the Fortuitous Radiance. From here, she takes a more supportive role, sticking to the mid range and focusing down enemies as quickly and efficiently as possible

Weapons

Name:
Ace of Roses

Primary Form:
A red and black 8 round revolver. The majority of the gun is black, with only the cylinder, hammer, sights and butt painted red. The barrel has Nadine's symbol painted on it, and the cylinder has a red club, diamond, heart and spade designed on it, equal distances apart. Aoife carries 64 spare bullets, for a total of 72 shots with the Ace of Roses.

Name:
Fortuitous Radiance

Primary Form:
An primarily red assault rifle with a black stock and a black sling that she can use to throw Radiance over her shoulder when not in use. The rifle uses a red dot scope and twenty round magazines that contain either FMJ or hollow point rounds, depending on what Aoife requires at the time, and she carries 3 magazines of each type.

History:
Her father's old gun, which she effectively took for her own when she decided to become a huntress. She had it repainted from it's old blue and green colour scheme, while adding her symbol to the barrel, and the card motifs were included as a reminder of why she's on this quest of hers in the first place.

Fortuitous Radiance, meanwhile, was created at Signal Academy as a way for her to engage tougher or more numerous foes than what the Ace of Roses would normally be capable of.

CHARACTER

Didn't mean he stopping complaining about it though. And, when she passed her entrance exam to Beacon, he may have opened his first bottle of run in years.

She's had bad friends and bad times, living life afraid that she's go home one day and find her father dead, either from alcohol or a debt left too long.

In effect, she's able to infuse her bullets with aura that allow them to "bounce" off of objects, a maximum of seven times. Aoife has zero control over what way the bullet bounces, making this semblance dangerous for everyone involved. The bullets cannot penetrate objects, but still retain their force, so they'll still hurt if they hit. While shot, the bullet glows red and leaves a trail that persists until the bullet has lost all of it's momentum. Aoife can only use this once a minute.

CHARACTER

Name:
Gwylan Anwen

Age:
17

Species and Gender:
Human Male

Symbol:
A teal trident trapped in a navy bubble.

Occupation:
First Year Beacon Student

Appearance:
Gwylan stands at 6'1 and weighs 200lbs of lean muscle that he got from spending his youth swimming, working or training. He has short, spiky navy hair with a longer ponytail that falls to his shoulder blades and is dyed teal. Gwylan's eyes are a turquoise colour, and his skin has a golden tan. His face is angular but handsome, and his nose is bent slightly to his left.

During combat, Gwylan wears a leather cuirass, greaves and bracers, all coloured ultramarine. The cuirass has a holster for his trident on the back. This is over a teal t-shirt and black trousers. To finish off his outfit, Gwylan wears black fingerless gloves and navy shoes. When not in combat, Gwylan wears a teal long sleeved shirt, a pair of navy jeans, with brown shoes, blue socks and a turquoise scarf that he leaves open.

History:
Gwylan was born in a medium sized fishing village a dozen or so miles away from Vale, close enough to receive support if it needed it and to supply Vale with seafood. His youth was pretty simplistic, working with his father and uncles on their fishing boat when he grew old enough, and spending the time he wasn't either playing with his friends or helping his mother and elder sister with whatever tasks they had to do. A happy, peaceful childhood.

In the village, it was tradition for anyone able to be taught the basics of combat. Nothing too serious, they weren't trying to create an army, but instead make sure everyone had a passable chance of surviving any Grimm incursions. To ensure this, the village actively encouraged any retired huntsmen to move there, providing housing and pay in return for their training. Due to low huntsman life expectancy, there was only one huntsman in the village when Gwylan came of age to begin his training. There, he excelled, showing a surprising grasp of the basics of combat, when compared to those of his age group anyway.

This was Gwylan's life in the nutshell. The only truly memorable moment was when a pair of active huntresses passed through on their way to deal with some Grimm further down the coast. They required a place to use as a base of operations, and the village was happy to provide. Gwylan was awestruck by the pair and how they had dedicated their lives to aiding others, and it inspired him to do the same. He focused harder on training himself, taking every free moment to make himself stronger. Eventually, he made his way to Beacon to take the entrance exam, which he passed with more than adequate marks. He didn't stand out as a prodigy, but he was good enough.

Personality:
Gwylan is an agreeable youth with a playful attitude and carefree outlook on life in and out of combat. He presents himself as a brave and likeable young man, a valiant sort of fellow that people like because he's seen as a good person who does kind things for others without hesitation. Gwylan doesn't do formal respect or situations very well, being overtly casual towards everyone despite their station, and he takes a very dim view of people who try to impose their rule on those who do not wish for it, having a negative view on companies that use Faunas for cheap labour.

However, he is a proud warrior, someone who can't abandon a fight just because he's losing an he's ready to fight until the end, if that's what life has in store for him. Gwylan never refuses a challenge to fight, which he believes is one of the best ways to get to know someone. His pride does tend to get him into trouble though, often due to him getting into situations he's not prepared for, just so he can keep face.

His hobbies include fishing, swimming and wandering new places, while also having a small love for reading fiction.

Aura and Semblance:
Aura Colour.

Gwylan's semblance allows his to move through water without having to move his body. Effectively, the water pushes him around in whatever direction he has to go. Gwylan can sustain this for up to 5 minutes, but usually until he runs out of breath. Gwylan isn't required to be totally submerged, but he must have the majority of his body underwater. If needed, he can pop his head or an arm, etc, out of the water. His top speed using his semblance is 5m/second.

Combat Behavior:
Gwylan is a offensive combatant, focusing on pressuring his opponent with a continuous barrage of strikes while using his weapons reach to keep himself safe from any reprisals. His style involves sweeps using the bladed edges of the tridents outer prongs until he can find an opening, which he'll attempt to capitalise on with a flurry of stabs. While not fond of it, Gwylan can fight defensibly, but his impatience tends to force him to try to take control of the pace of a fight pretty quickly. However, due to it's size and weight, Gwylan has trouble engaging opponents who use lighter weapons, such as daggers, and he has no ranged options bar throwing his Irvine, which he is loath to do.

WEAPON

Name:
Irvine

Primary Form:
A 5 and two fifths feet long trident, made of a shining teal coloured steel with the prongs and base coloured silver, and the shaft has a several cord wrapped grips for Gwylan to use. In the centre there is a switch the collapses the shaft, making it easier to carry around.

History:
Irvine was the weapon Gwylan's great-grandfather had wielded when he was a huntsman. Upon his death, it was returned to his family by a close friend, and was kept in the attic gathering dust until Gwylan's mother gave it to him a few weeks before his entrance exam. He painted the trident teal when he received it, but kept the original silver in places to honour his family.

CHARACTER

Name:
Tobias Ecru Larrikin

Age:
48, Born Arashi 9th

Species and Gender:
Human Male

Symbol:
A black top hat with a yellow band around the base and the top blown open.

Occupation:
Terrorist
Former Hunter

Appearance:
Tobias Larrikin is a tall, gangly, man, standing at 6'5, but he weighs 290lbs due to the fact that, as a child, his father, a scientist specialising in bionic limbs, replaced his limbs with mechanical prosthetics, as a result of a medical condition that degraded the myelin sheathes in his peripheral nervous system. Tobias has dull blonde hair with some grey in it, that's kept short and swept back, sharp turquoise eyes, a longer than average nose and remarkable big ears. He has pale skin, with a large tattoo on his back of a pair of wings, the right wing having feathers while the left is skeletal.

For his combat outfit, Tobias dresses himself up in the garb of his daughter's imaginary friend and superhero. He wears a Victorian style suit, with a bright yellow tailcoat with purple lapels, a lime green pair of pressed trousers, a bright pink waistcoat, white socks and gloves, black shoes, turquoise tie and a black hat with a bright yellow ribbon around it. Tobias also wears a white mask to conceal his identity, with holes for eyes and a large red grin crudely painted on. The mask is reinforced to protect his face if his aura goes down. It won't stop a bullet, but it'll take a good few whacks before breaking.

If going incognito, Tobias wears incredibly dulled down clothing compared to his usual outfit, consisting of a dark brown pair of trousers and a hoodie in the same colour, with a grey long sleeved t-shirt and black boots.

History:
Born with a disease that degraded the myelin sheaths in his peripheral nervous system, Tobias' father, who designed prosthetic limbs for Atlas, took matters into his own hands to provide his son with a normal life. Calling in a favour from a colleague in the medical profession, he was able to get Tobias into surgery to have his weak and ineffectual limbs removed. From there, he began to design limbs for Tobias, giving him his first set on his second birthday.

Tobias slowly but surely began to learn how to walk, to hold things, to live like a normal child. As he grew up, he spent hours in his father's lab while his limbs were improved or fixed or changed. He began to desire more freedom, a life where he could move and go where he wanted, and spend his time as he wished, not stuck in a lab listening to engineers and scientists be boring. This led to Tobias' decision to become a Hunter. When he told his father this, the man's hand, in the middle of tuning his left leg, slipped, and Tobias kicked a chair across the room. Tobias soon began to learn how to fight, focusing on hand to hand combat.

On his seventeenth birthday, before he was due to do his entrance exam at Haven, his father presented Tobias with the first model of his combat prosthetics, designed for enhanced durability and a little bit of extra oomph in his attacks. He passed his exam with solid marks, and entered Haven the next term, where he was placed on Team VLLL or Veil, were he was partnered with his future wife's older sister, Vex Claret. Going through Haven with the usual sorts of adventures and shenanigans that a team has, though most don't deal with one member trying to kill another for dating their little sister. But they got through in the end, and a month after graduation, Tobias and Val Claret got married in a subdued ceremony in Atlas, with both families and Team VLLL present. And everything was happy. The newly married moved to a small house in a small village near Mistral, with Tobias taking up a post in the village security team while Val became a teacher at the local primary school. And then Val got pregnant.

Overjoyed at the news, Tobias went crazy preparing for the little girl they were gonna have, buying just about everything they would need a week after they learned the gender, and putting it all together a week after that. Little Aoife Larrikin-Claret was born perfectly healthy, destroying the anxiety Tobias had that she'd inherit his neurological disease and melting his heart at the same time. And for a while, everything was good.

One night, just a night like any other, a group of bandits raided the village. While Tobias went off to fight them, Val took Aoife, now five, and attempted to bring her to the town hall, were all those who couldn't fight were, but she was cornered by some of the bandits, who killed her in cold blood and took Aoife with them into the night, for reasons Tobias never learned. When he found his wife's corpse, Tobias broke down in grief. Struggling through the next few days while the village buried their dead and started rebuilding, Tobias disappeared in the night, leaving a note saying that he was going to try to track down the bandits who'd escaped.

This began a two month long hunt, where Tobias hunted the bandits, and brutally attacked any of them he came across, searching for their hideout. Upon finding it, Tobias and the leader engaged in a duel where, midway through, a thrown knife was knocked away and landed in Aoife's throat, killing her. Losing his mind at the sight, Tobias lashed out with unrestrained aggression, killing everyone present, before taking Aoife out and burying her a short distance away, under a tree and beside a river. Tobias then walked off into the night, where he began life as a nomad, taking up whatever jobs came his way, no matter how terrible, as the voice of his daughter began whispering in his mind, pushing towards further acts of cruelty and violence as vengeance for what the world did to her and her mother.

After ten years, Tobias now feels ready to begin his campaign for change out in the open. He's returned from wandering to begin committing acts of terror upon the general populaces of the major cities, with the intent to incite a change in the world, no matter the cost. As long as he gets his revolution, Tobias will be satisfied, and he's willing to partner with anyone or any group to get this goal accomplished.

Personality:
Originally, Tobias was a kid and gentle person, who wanted to do good, help others and raise his daughter to the best of his ability. But after her kidnapping and his wife's death, his sanity started to slip. He began lashing out in anger more often, and used excessive violence to locate his daughter and bring the people who took her to justice. Upon finding her, and the resulting loss of her life, Tobias went off the deep end, butchering the entire group and disappearing into the night for ten years.

Upon his return, it was quite clear that the old Tobias was gone, replaced by a lighthearted jester of a man who believed that his duty in life was to enact a social revolution of sorts, bringing about a change from the world that took his daughter from him. He cares not what dramatic shift in life he causes, only that it occurs by his hand. He is charming and upbeat, yet sinister and violent, casually discussing violence with the indifference of someone taking out the trash, and is constantly making quips and jokes whenever he gets the opportunity to do so. He also enjoys spooking and scaring people, using his semblance to appear behind individuals or groups and giving them a fright before he attacks.

However, Tobias isn't all sunshine and homicide. The loss of his daughter caused serious mental trauma to him, resulting in hallucinations of her appearing to him, usually in the form of him "answering" a phone call from her. It is "her" in fact that leads him to perform most of the terrible crimes he commits, her voice prompting him to violence and acts of terrorism. While she hasn't physically appeared yet, it's only a matter of time before she does, and that'll probably just make him even more destructive.

Aura and Semblance:
Aura is a bright yellow color.

Resulting from his desire to get away from his father when he was modifying his prosthetic limbs, Tobias' semblance allows him to teleport, to a maximum distance of a mile. Teleporting requires a lead up time of 5 seconds, so it has no practical combat usage, bar a first strike. Tobias must also be able to see the area clearly, with either his eyes, a picture or from memory. When teleporting, all the colour bleeds out of Tobias until he is left in various shades of grey, then his body flickers and he's gone. His arrival is more subdued, just a flickering image of him for a second before he appears.

Combat Behavior:
A man of refined cruelty, Tobias uses a purely hand to hand combat style with a focus on attacking his enemies joints and weak points with the aim of taking them out of the fight as quickly and brutally as possible, and making certain they cannot come after him again. Tobias prefers to break bones with well placed strikes then grapples and submission holds, and isn't above using dirty tricks to get the victory. However, he has zero ranged options besides getting in close, putting him at a disadvantage against well trained gunslingers, dust mages or semblance wielders. Speaking of dust, his mechanical prosthetic limps can be temporarily disrupted by electrical dust. Due to his condition as a child, Tobias has a lower than average stamina level than someone with his training and physicality should.

WEAPON

Name:
Larrikin Weaponised Prosthesis' MK. VII

Primary Form:
A set of mechanical limbs painted metallic black, with enhanced reaction limitations and a reinforced design to allow Tobias to go toe to toe with armed people and the creatures of Grimm. The joints are all fully rotational, allowing Tobias more versatility in combat, having a full 360 degree rotation at every joint.

History:
Crafted for Tobias by his father so he could have a "normal" life, or as normal a life one can have with metal limbs, Tobias' prosthesis' have been improved repeatedly over the years, going from thin, stick like appendages to the fully functioning weapons he has now.
