Everywhere Else / Re: The Medusa Precedent [CLOSED]
« on: April 28, 2019, 08:46:51 AM »
As was to be expected of someone with no sense of direction, Gray was the last to arrive and simply walked up to the others that had evidently responded to the same message he had received. It was hardly surprising that not many had responded, either due to the warnings attached or the conspicuous delivery. Gray however was willing to charge headlong into anything and also not smart enough to think that the message might be a virus. As such here he was. He approached wordlessly and simply stood waiting for something to happen with an arrow already knocked in Lamnia.

Cerulean couldn't really do much against a barrage of debris except cover up and try to be a small target. However, he could do something as they reached him and swung, from here he could do a lot. He opted to take advantage of his semblance. As the swing came Cerulean hopped slightly into the air and under his feet appeared the arms of a clone who lifted and vaulted him into the air above the Beringel's swing just as the swings crashed down and destroyed the clone, causing it to explode. With his first clone destroyed Cerulean was open to create another, which he did. That clone appeared in the air above Cerulean who rotated in mid-air to meet his clone foot-to-foot. Bracing for a moment Cerulean and the clone kicked off each other sending the real one hurtling back towards the ground, Cerulean twisted once again to be facing upright as he impacted and slashed down the healthy Beringel's chest with the momentum of the fall. Barely pausing he turned and lashed a kick into the wedged portion of Takif intent on using the leverage to rip the weapon free and hopefully deal a lot of damage in the process.

Cerulean Battle Data

Aura level: 90%
Clone explosion, both aggressive Beringels.
Falling attack, healthy Beringel.
leverage kick, Beringel with weapon embedded in shoulder.

Hearing the call to hold on and lacking anything else to grab Cerulean gripped the saddle tightly as Noble Steed reared back. Keeping his grip he shifted back as his companion mounted up. As the mount went to break the encirclement Cerulean decided to thrust his weapon downwards and get one last shot in as they went over. A blade wedged in the shoulder of a Beringel did however make it hard to remain in the saddle and the force of his weapon effectively kept him in place as the mount went on without him. Despite losing his companion he still yelled some instructions to her. "rally with the caravan. Remember why we're here!" Leaving the front end of Takif embedded in the Beringel Cerulean hastily pulled the rear blades from the shaft and smiled to himself. "Now this is more my speed." He stood ready for whatever was going to come next.

As the group turned to leave Revya was forced to do an awkward 3-point turn in the cave before turning to follow the group. He made sure he was out of earshot before saying "So who exactly should we be reporting them to?"

AMA Section / Re: Righty or Lefty?

Being a lefty IRL and having done some swordsmanship I have felt the advantage (and disadvantage when the other guy is too) first hand. It’s not huge until shields come into play (at least in my experience) I never specified handedism on my characters though I think in writing them some became lefties because I often do a motion in an effort to describe it better and since IRL me does it lefty. So does the character when I write it down. That said, Gray is ambidextrous and Sandy at the very least kickboxes lefty as I did say he fights in a southpaw stance. I think during the Vital festival I specified that Ceramite had Ultio in his left hand as well. Basically all of my characters are lefty in my head due to me being a lefty and how I tend to write.

Edit.

Correction. Gray WAS ambidextrous before he was shot at the Vytal festival. After the shooting he became right handed as he never got his full strength back in his left arm.

Cerulean simply grunted as an annoyed spectral unicorn whacked him in the face with it's tail and mounted up, opting to grab the back of the saddle to secure himself.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The ride was more unpleasant than Cerulean was expecting, he figured his riding experience would have helped but the big issue was the lack of styrups to help keep balance.
It was probably worth the pain though as all hell seemed to break loose around him. Cannon fire and Beringels. Time to go to work.
Cerulean opted to remain on Noble Steed's back utilising Takif's Halberd form to try and deal with any leaping Grimm. Catching one coming at them Cerulean raised Takif in an attempt to intercept the path with the wide blade and simply allow the grimm's own momentum to cut it in two upon the blade.
This effort however was interrupted by the horses sharp turn causing the Beringel to miss but also Cerulean's attempt to counter it.
"Dammit." Cerulean barked out at himself for missing his shot as he moved to turn his attention forward and saw that his companion was no longer there and the unicorn was seemingly traveling unguided.
With this in mind Cerluean quickly moved forward in an attempt to take the reigns and bring it back, only to find the unicorn wasn't following his efforts to steer it at all.
So much for that plan then Cerulean thought to himself grimly as the unicorn turned and charged a Beringel on it's own.
Not one to miss an oportunity cerulean decided to use the momentum to his advantage pointing Takif forwards like a lance hoping to let the horses momentum carry the blade straight through the Beringel's midsection, unaware that an ally was on the other side of it.

"All I did was ask if they were ok. But be my guest." Cerulean responded to the comment about the villager's reaction.
"I'll handle discomfort if it means not risking the life of a student. Besides, I've ridden on mounts before. It wasn't a horse but a Donkey can't feel that different can it?"
With that Cerulean moved to mount up.

"real tactful" Cerulean muttered under his breath as his companion launched into a series of questions for the survivors. He then stood there and accepted the justified tirade that came from them.
"I'm terribly sorry for your loss." was all Cerulean added before leaving to rejoin his group and listen to Aurelia's plan.
"I agree that splitting up seems like the only way we can capture dustsmith and also help these people but I also don't like the idea of sending a student off on their own. At least take one of us with you."

As the exchange went on Revya could feel the tension around him and let his hand rest on the guard of his sword, waiting patiently and hoping things didn't go south.

Revya simply followed his group down the tunnel. Keeping quiet and waiting to see where things went.

Being close to the group already Cerulean strode up to them as they were salvaging their vehicle, though he was aware of further plumes of smoke indicating further fighting.
"Do you think you'll be ok from here on? Looks like there are other traveller's like you in need of help but I'm not abandoning you if you won't be ok alone."

With the way this site works it's usually sorted out pretty quickly by just having the other guy break the ice almost immediately. Best case scenario I've seen is you get a turn where they don't hit you. worst case scenario it actually achieves sweet fuck-all in slowing them down.
