They were already pulling together, sorting out the mission with pointed questions and practical insights. Budonoki couldn't help the soft smile that graced his lips -- despite their bleak and terrible environs the students were stepping up to the challenge nicely. Glancing at Catalina's Scroll along with the others, Budonoki nodded thoughtfully. "Hm, yes. If memory serves, at least a few of the sightings were not far from the base -- and neither, fortunately, are we." He gestured with his staff. "The latest surveys, if I recall, suggest that the quickest route is that way, then a sharp turn west once we're past the collapsed Gran Veld tower. Very good, mister Glenn. If you would take point?"
He knew that this wouldn't be easy for Catalina -- Dr. Sophos was far from unaware of the history between the young sniper and the ruined city, and had thought long and hard when he saw that a Glenn would be coming along on such an endeavor. It was not, however, his place to judge Cat's motives for returning; Huntsmen, after all, did what was necessary regardless of how difficult it might be for them personally. That was the calling to which all the students strove. Besides, such first-hand knowledge of the ground would be indispensable.
A wolf howl echoing in the distance brought the good doctor's thoughts back around to the current moment. In this urban jungle of crumbling stone and concrete his verdant sense would be next to useless. For better or worse, he'd be relying on the students just as much as they were him. "Let us go quietly, if we can."
