Airi maintained a defensive stance as once of the grunts sent Sovereign on over to the pairs location.

"How is it?" she asked. She bit her lip as she watched a few of the grunts, at the behest of what appeared to be the two head honchos, quickly close in on them. "Troublesome. Lyra, get ready".

With what was essentially the flip of a switch, Airi activated her aura and laid upon everyone in the vicinity a huge normal force that increased in strength the closer the target was to her. Unfortunately, Lyra and Sovereign were within arms reach and would suffer from the full strength of her semblance. The grunts that were quickly closing in had slowed if not froze entirely; a couple of their knees buckling, unable to withstand the her. The remaining, should they make it to melee distance of Airi, would be met with the same severe force being felt by Lyra and Sovereign.

Airi felt as if her life force were being completely drained from her. She didn't want to use her semblance with so many targets around, but as she was without her weapons, she didn't have a choice.

Upon seeing that another ranged attack was on its way, more Dust spilled out of his cane, this time a mixture of propulsion, wind, and earth Dust. With a motion of the cane to his left, the Dust formed something of a wall, and with a sweeping motion back toward his right, the wall rushed forward toward Savas, crashing into and destroying the bolt of lightening in the process [feels like a single strong gust of wind with a lot more oomph; low actual damage].

With his senses coming back into focus, more Dust released from his cane, this time a pure white. Being careful of his leg, he launched himself into the air toward Savas with the intention of peaking out approximately above him. As he neared the peak of his trajectory, Nicolas prepared for his next attack, and as he passed overhead, he sent three fire-propulsion fireballs to rain down upon Savas.

Avery ducked away from the blade as it pierced the air just beside him. He was ready to drop Dorian and prepare for another attack, but the woman's words froze him in his tracks. Indecision and hesitation: the wrenches that clogged the gears of his mind which he'd normally be able to work through with time, but time was a luxury that they couldn't afford. He bite his lip.

The ship lurched as the woman neared and Avery could feel his footing gave way just as she passed him. He freed his hand that was resting atop his weapon and instead used it to grab hold of the woman, lunging toward her as his feeling of imbalance turned into a reality. His hold on her was also worrisome, but with his other hand preoccupied with Dorian, there wasn't much he could do except pray that the ship wouldn't do anything drastic.

Suna would've complimented Solar on her aim. but the situation left his thoughts nice and scrambled. For the few seconds he was given in the air, he did his best to recompose himself, but by his straight crashing into the cloaked figure, it was obvious that he'd failed. The impact hurt, through it would've hurt a lot more had Solar missed; he'd thank her later.

They both skid off the rooftop and crashed onto the hard ground below. Suna laid disoriented for a moment before looking around with blurred vision, his hands reaching for the cloaked figure that should've been beside him.

Nicolas' eyes widened just slightly, and he took in a sharp and quick breath. It took his eyes time to adjust to what the air distortion was, and by the time they did, it was too late. The wave smashed into him, the impact as if someone had charged directly at him. Nicolas was knocked back again, but this time he couldn't keep on his feet. He fell to the ground a few feet away and slid for a couple more. The alarm bells in his head went off immediately as he realized the situation he was in.

Nicolas look up, doing his best to find Savas amid his blurred vision and just managed to do so. Still trying to recover, the only thing he could reliably do was to wait and see what Savas did next.

Nicolas watched as Savas charged toward him. While he looked calm on the outside, his heart was racing. There was no sense in blocking or parrying any of his attacks--Savas would break you all the same--so the next logical thing would be to dodge. Coupled with the fact that Nicolas was handicapped, a brief feeling of regret shot through his mind. He took a deep breath and felt his heart ease up a little.

"This is no time for hesitation, Nick," he said beneath his breath. The glow of his aura grew stronger around his cane-wielding hand, and as Savas approached with his sword raised, a flurry of propulsion Dust was released from his cane. With a short flash of light, Nicolas was sent flying away from Savas. The impact was something he had to get used to, but he was able to retain his footing nonetheless, albeit barely.

Nicolas switched to attack mode immediately, knowing that he had to keep Savas out of attack range for as long as he could. The aura around his hand glowed again, and this time there was a mix of ice along with the propulsion Dust. He waved his free hand and two icicles formed from thin air, and with a quick gesture toward Savas, they shot towards him.

Outdoor Sparring Arena

"I'm sure. Whether it be now or later, this is something I need to do. For myself".

After a few minutes, the party arrived at an outdoor sparring arena. The terrain, having been freshly cleared, was hard dirt.On one side of the arena was the aura display, capable of displaying up to eight individuals and built to withstand all sorts of weather.  Everywhere else along the perimeter of the arena were stands where spectators would watch fights, but currently they were vacant. The arena itself was decently sized, large enough to comfortably accommodate two individuals, but once the number is ramped up to eight, it gets a bit crowded.

Aurelia plopped herself down on one of the seats, a look of slight worry spread across her face. Nicolas made his way to one end of the arena and equipped the bracelet. When he turned it on, the arena's aura display lit up with his name and a full aura bar. He tapped his cane against the ground and his nickle-colored aura began to shimmer.

"I'm ready when you are, Savas".

"You can never be too careful when you're this far out from the mainlands. One bad encounter, be it Grimm or pirate, and we'd be in the bellies of those monstrous Grimm lurking beneath the waves". Jackson pointed a thumb to the edge of the ship.

As the conversation shifted back to Cordell's ship, the seriousness of the pirate captain spoke volumes; Jackson returned the same tone to her. "I understand that this information can put you and your ship in jeopardy, and thank you for trusting us with it." Jackson reached out and accepted the handshake. "With that being said, the info would be useless with me. It would be better if you spoke to our Systems Officer and Chief Engineer. Keep it on a need-to-know basis". Jackson released himself from her grip, his hand following up with a radio. "Barry, send Jasper and Terrence into the conference room. I'll be there shortly". Barry acknowledged the order and the radio went silent. Jackson turned back to Cordell. "Allow me to invite you inside, Captain. And you guys [the crew handling the newly-acquired cargo], don't forget to close the door".

The fact that the gangsters seemed to fear Sovereign made her worried, though her more immediate worry were the approach of some grunts to take on Airi and Lyra. Airi readied herself as one of them charged at her. The brute threw out a vertical swing which she was able to easily dodge; compared to her duelist peers, these guys were like drying paint. Still, they were decently strong and one hit could possibly spell disaster for her so she still had to be cautious. Airi responded by landing a rocket kick to the back of her attacker's knee, causing him to kneel to the ground, and followed it up with a rocket kick to his head which made him no longer viable for combat. She turned toward the remaining grunts and returned to her stance.

"Don't make me hurt the rest of you".

Avery made his way down to the engine room with haste only to find an exhausted, out-of-breath Dorian. Avery himself could feel his accelerated heartbeat reverberating through his chest, but he did his best to keep himself straight. He rushed over to Dorian's side and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Dorian, you don't look so well. We should-," Avery was interrupted by a sudden and strange movement of the ship. He looked toward the console Dorian was operating and saw what was happening. And he thought his heart was already racing. "I think we should get out of here before it's too late".

Avery found the intercom. "Topaz, Aurum. Get topside. We have to leave ASAP". He let his finger off the button and turned back to Dorian. "Are your legs still working or do you need a hand?"

Suna managed to keep on his feet, which was a feat all things considered, but that was about it. By the time he had stabilized himself enough to shift his focus elsewhere, Solar immediately knocked both of them over the edge of the building. His mouth opened as if to say something but nothing came out, his body instead moving on its own. Suna reached out and grabbed Solar, bringing her closer to him, and used what was left of his concentration to reactively bring up as much sand as he could to cushion their fall.

His sand packed a punch, much more than intended. The hit knocked Solar and Suna off to the side, but their vertical velocity had been reduced nonetheless. He hit the ground with a small thud and laid still for a moment before the entire situation came back to him. Suna shot up and looked back up at the roof where Sean now was. He turned his attention back in the direction of the cloaked figure and he went off, looking for a way to get back onto the rooftops.

Running into Sean and Solar, Suna was confident that the culprit was done for, but their sudden acrobatics caught him off guard. Wasting no time, Suna did his best to copy the maneuver. He launched himself off the vehicle, and using the support of his sand, made his way up the wall, very nearly clutching the edge of the roof when his fingers slipped away and that familiar sense of dread filled him.

This momentary sense of dread triggered something in him and a tower of sand shot up off the ground, knocking into Suna with a great force and sending him flying onto the roof. Suna hadn't expected that to happen himself as evidenced by his horizontal landing. He gt back to his feet as quickly as he could, but he knew that he had lost a ton of momentum. Still, it seemed like eh had the support of those strangers so he continued on after the cloaked figure.

Avery jumped back, the engineering of the glass paying dividends for his safety as the glass cracked at the sudden Dust impact. Drones swarmed out to repair it, but it was going too slow. He went back to the intercom.

"I'm going to meet up with you, Dorian. The Dust is doing work on the glass up here and the sensors aren't coping well with the storm." Before he went back down into the ship, Avery looked around the bridge for a control panel dedicated to the management of the drones.

Jackson crossed one arm across his chest, his other hand tapping at his chin. He nodded as Cordell told him what she knew.

"No need to apologize, Captain. We had an idea of what we might be getting into, some more than others," Jackson said as he shot a glance toward the bridge where the chief officer remained. Despite the officer's objections to helping Cordell, Jackson knew it was in good faith and that without him, there would be nothing to counterbalance Jackson's occasional recklessness. "Besides, if they try something with us," Jackson moved his hand away from his face, formed a fist, and sent it into the palm of the other, "we won't let them escape so easily next time."
