As pointed of a statement as it was, Hunter was right: Avery's brothers had far greater combat capabilities than he did. Nevertheless, what he lacked in strength he made up for with his mind. Or at least he tried to.

"Let's get the formalities out of the way," he said before making his way to the other side of the arena, passing through the sandstorm in the process. As he emerged from the other side, he wiped away the sand around his eyes before opening them back up again, and he dusted the sand off of his arms and shoulders.

"Vermilion, Vivian: hello! Good luck and may the better team win!" Avery smiled and extended out his hand.

Suna stared blankly back at Sean for a few seconds before the light flickered on in his head. He shot his own look back at Sean that said "Seriously?". Suna huffed out from his nostrils and turned back to the girl. "You. Are. Expendable. Not just you. All of you shifty critters scurrying around the city. Don't think you're safe just because you're keeping your mouth shut," Suna said as he slowly shrunk the space within the dorm and narrowed the hole letting the light in. "Not from us. Not from him." He paused. "The man who tried to kill us when he found the victim. Just imagine what he'd do if he just happened to find out that you were keeping your mouth shut." Suna removed the top of his mace, taking care not to activate it, and dropped it in the sand. He casually covered it up with his semblance. "Better yet, how about the associates of every victim. The cops won't, and can't, protect you so when someone vindictive enough comes along...," he knelt down, revealed the head of his mace from the sand, stood back up, and examined it closely. "When I become a full-fledged scavenger, I may one day find a piece of you out in the wasteland."

He firmed his grip on the mace head. "So instead of wasting our time trying to save yourself from what could be inevitable, just spill it."

Aurelia stood on the edge of the arena, arms crossed with her weapon staffed upon for waist for the time being. Her foot was tapping against the pavement, eager to begin the match. She hadn't set foot on this stage since her school days and she was looking to make a statement. Between the less-than-positive words of the announcers, she took the time to glance over Ceramite; really, there was just one thing that sorely stood out and it was his massive gun. Aurelia herself wasn't much of a ranged fighter so she was already at a disadvantage. "Tch."

When Hunter and Prim were finally done with introductions, the biome selection went underway, eventually landing on Desert and Savanna. Shortly after, the ground began to rumble. "Good luck!" Aurelia shouted across the arena as she readied her weapon.

As soon as the match started, she loaded one round into the ends of her weapon and fired two fire wave projectiles at Ceramite, the first being vertical and the second being horizontal (5% each). Immediately after her attack, she ran for the nearest fire bomb that wasn't directly between her and Ceramite.

Given the background of him and his crew, Jackson felt that the gesture was fairly unnecessary but accepted it anyway with a smile.

"Gawk all you want then! Our CE would love that."

He hung onto the weapons as best he could--two pistols and a sword were a little much to carry by himself--as they made their way through the ships cold, metallic, well-lit hallways that seemed to thunder with every step that Jackson took.

Eventually they came upon the meeting room. He swung open the thick door to reveal its innards. It was fairly ordinary. A rectangular metal table lay in the middle with enough chairs to seat eight people. On the wall closest to the farthest end was a projector screen, one corner was dedicated to media players for the projector, and on the wall opposite of that connected to the hallway was a whiteboard which was unused at the moment. Two people were already in the room: an average-looking, tan-skinned brunette whose outfit would've been fit for business if not for the fact that she removed her jacket and rolled up her sleeves and a grizzled, fair-skinned, black-haired man whose outfit matched military more than anything else.

They both stood up and walked toward the two. The woman introduced herself first with a hand extended.

"Glad to see that you've come out unscathed, Captain Cordell," she said. Jackson introduced her as Jasper, the Chief Engineer.

The man shot a glance at Jasper before greeting her as well. "A little weird to say given her occupation, but likewise." Jackson introduced him as Forrest, Combat Systems Officer.

"If you want to keep go-" Nicolas started to talk, but Aurelia cut him off realizing that there was even a slight chance of the fight being prolonged.

"Absolutely not. Call it a draw," commanded Aurelia as she huffed her way over to him. She tilted herself over his body and placed her arms upon her hips. "Is this what you've spent all your time on?" She took note of Savas' comment but was reluctant to the thought. Still, she didn't bother to wait for an answer and instead made her way to Savas. "You okay, Sav?" Aurelia said as she knelt to the ground and inspected his person. He appeared to be decent enough, but his semblance and the attacks must've did their toll she figured.

"Arcana has been dormant since the last war. You don't think...," she muttered. Her voice trailed off.

"Just in time!" Avery said upon Topaz' and Aurum's arrival. They seemed a bit disheveled and figured that they didn't have the best time, either. Aside from the sinking ship, that is.

Avery was still weary of the the woman who'd come out of nowhere just to save them and he wondered if she had something else up her sleeves. Kidnapping? Perhaps she'd even orchestrated this entire fiasco! That made it all the more surprising when she willingly gave up her weapon and surrendered herself to DALT.

In truth, he thought about leaving her behind, but her capabilities were unknown to him and it'd be dangerous to wonder into that territory given their situation. Hiding his shock as best he could, he accepted her weapon and places it upon the left side of his wasit. Avery moved Dorian into the pod before gesturing toward Cornell, Topaz, and Aurum to get in as well.

"No time to waste. I'll cover the rear."

Even in his dazed state, Suna found the culprit's statement rather peculiar. He wondered if this girl really could've been the attacker of both the ram Faunus and the Faunus from the house. He maintained a solid grip on her, and when he'd finally regained his senses, he made a cocoon of sand around him, her, and Sean with a hole left at the top to shine line upon the culprit. Upon close inspection of the hole, the cocoon was a few centimeters thick.

With the threat of escape gone, he let go of the culprit despite Sean's look of concern. Still, he remained cautious in his mind. Taking a good look at her, she looked like the common street rat. If she's as dangerous as Sean thinks, then there is a clear discrepancy between her appearance and her capabilities. Perhaps it was purposeful.

"Yeah, relax. Take a seat," Suna said as he gave more thought into what she'd just said. "If it wasn't your idea, then whose was it? And while you're at it, what do you mean by 'she still has it'? Do you mean her horns?"

Nicolas was almost relieved when his attacks landed onto his opponent as if he was expecting otherwise. Almost. Soon after the attack, Savas sent his own straight at Nicolas, and he was wholly unprepared for it. Nicolas' body buzzed and tingled, and a sharp pain was felt along the area where the attack made contact with him. His arc through the air remained relatively unchanged, but his control over his own body was nearly non-existent.

Mentally, he braced for impact as much as he could and he crashed into the ground horizontally, bouncing and skidding along the ground until all his momentum was spent. Still, he was unable to move, at best being able to twitch, so he just laid there, defeated.

For a few moments, Airi had become, in a slightly more literal sense of the word, senseless. She could feel the various movements as something like a blur, and when she finally reached a point that could barely be classified as 'came to', she found herself up against Sovereign's back. A slew of thoughts soggily passed through her mind, but she didn't have the energy nor the care, at least for the time being, to do anything about it. She gave Sovereign a double-pat on the shoulder before lowering herself from his back.

Her legs were weak and she felt as if any buckling of her knees and she wouldn't have the energy to pop back up. Because of this, she'd have a rather difficult time defending herself, but as evidenced by Lyra's carnage, that wouldn't be much of an issue. "Restrain yourself, Lyra. No messes," Airi said in a labored voice. She turned toward Sovereign. "Now that I'm out of the way...do whatever you need to do."

Airi maintained a defensive stance as once of the grunts sent Sovereign on over to the pairs location.

"How is it?" she asked. She bit her lip as she watched a few of the grunts, at the behest of what appeared to be the two head honchos, quickly close in on them. "Troublesome. Lyra, get ready".

With what was essentially the flip of a switch, Airi activated her aura and laid upon everyone in the vicinity a huge normal force that increased in strength the closer the target was to her. Unfortunately, Lyra and Sovereign were within arms reach and would suffer from the full strength of her semblance. The grunts that were quickly closing in had slowed if not froze entirely; a couple of their knees buckling, unable to withstand the her. The remaining, should they make it to melee distance of Airi, would be met with the same severe force being felt by Lyra and Sovereign.

Airi felt as if her life force were being completely drained from her. She didn't want to use her semblance with so many targets around, but as she was without her weapons, she didn't have a choice.

Upon seeing that another ranged attack was on its way, more Dust spilled out of his cane, this time a mixture of propulsion, wind, and earth Dust. With a motion of the cane to his left, the Dust formed something of a wall, and with a sweeping motion back toward his right, the wall rushed forward toward Savas, crashing into and destroying the bolt of lightening in the process [feels like a single strong gust of wind with a lot more oomph; low actual damage].

With his senses coming back into focus, more Dust released from his cane, this time a pure white. Being careful of his leg, he launched himself into the air toward Savas with the intention of peaking out approximately above him. As he neared the peak of his trajectory, Nicolas prepared for his next attack, and as he passed overhead, he sent three fire-propulsion fireballs to rain down upon Savas.

Avery ducked away from the blade as it pierced the air just beside him. He was ready to drop Dorian and prepare for another attack, but the woman's words froze him in his tracks. Indecision and hesitation: the wrenches that clogged the gears of his mind which he'd normally be able to work through with time, but time was a luxury that they couldn't afford. He bite his lip.

The ship lurched as the woman neared and Avery could feel his footing gave way just as she passed him. He freed his hand that was resting atop his weapon and instead used it to grab hold of the woman, lunging toward her as his feeling of imbalance turned into a reality. His hold on her was also worrisome, but with his other hand preoccupied with Dorian, there wasn't much he could do except pray that the ship wouldn't do anything drastic.
