A look of disappointment came over Acero's face as his attack was directed away from his target, causing him to slash at the volcanic earth. However, the cyborg noticed that the ground that they were stand on was steaming, probably ready to erupt. Wanting to utilize the environment, Acero combined and sheathed his sword, jumping away as he put a battery back into his laser. After landing and stepping a few feet back, Acero shot at the volcanic ground, wanting to set it off.

Acero's shot, directed at the ground, finally brought Kei's attention to the lava spout--which he was standing right over. That, and Acero's hasty retreat, only meant one thing. Eyes widening in panic, Kei thumbed the Dust button on his lance, praying that he had the right kind of Dust within, or he would be blown to kingdom co--
The lava erupted in a large, scorching pillar, engulfing the right-hand side of Kei's body for several seconds, before steam started billowing in thick clouds from the base of the hole, the pillar gradually spluttering out. The steam would remain, thick enough to obscure any vision for a short duration, and spread over the entirety of the volcanic area. When the steam rises, Acero would see one of Kei's lances, embedded tip first into the hole, and a puddle of water pooling around it. A tiny shard of ice lay, hidden from all but the most prying eyes, a short distance from the hole.
Using the steam as cover, Kei staggered back behind a tree, clutching his right arm, his face a rictus of pain. His lance shaft was empty, his Ice Dust lance having served it's purpose--albeit a bit too late. This was not looking good for him. His right arm felt like it was still being charbroiled, and any movement sent pain lancing up into his chest, despite his Aura shielding him from the otherwise fatal hit. Slowly, his arm moved to withdraw another lance from his sheath, but it wouldn't be much use in his current state. He needed time.

The cyborg felt a little guilt as Kei was engulfed by the volcanic flames, eyes widening at what he might have done to his friend when he saw the lance in the ground. Acero quietly walked over to the lance in the ground, pulling it out and running back behind a rock for cover.

He laid the lance on the the ground and retracted his wrist laser, pulling his sword back out. Still feeling a little guilty, he called out to his friend. "Kei, if you can hear me, sorry!"

"Don't be..." Kei gritted his teeth and choked out, his mind on something else. In the meantime, he needed to keep Acero talking. "No real damage...done...I think." As he spoke traces of magenta started flowing through the air, but invisible through the cloud of smoke still covering the majority of the arena. As soon as this is done, the smoke should be gone, by my calculations. That is the opportune time to strike.

Acero continued to hide behind a rock, digging a little trench to hide Kei's lance, careful not to make too much noise as he did so. The cyborg's guilt was gone as he pushed dirt over the lance, as he knew that Kei probably wasn't harmed due to aura protection. Acero drew his sword and split into it's dual-swords form, trying to stay silent, but making a little bit of noise. I've got a bad feeling about this...

The steam was almost gone. Kei had timed it near perfection with his semblance; the verges of it's effects were straining to be released with that final stroke of his lance. He could feel the emotions, churning and roiling, ready to let rip as soon as he finished that symbol. As the final wisps of steam evaporated in the air, he completed the symbol, letting loose a uncharacteristic roar filled with all the pain and emotion he'd been keeping to himself. His right arm was temporarily painless. Now was the time.

Emerging from behind the tree with his usual speed and with no signs of any previous injury, Kei scanned his surroundings for any sign of Acero. None whatsoever. Well, that dampened any tension Kei might have had. Even the most silent of people couldn't keep their tools silent, however. Reselecting a lance from his sheath, Kei aimed the tip at a rock which the noise was emanating from, and fired. When the lance was over the rock, he detonated the dust within in a loud explosion, crushing the rock and anyone hiding behind it.

"Oh shit-" Acero gasped before one of Kei's lances blew up right in front of him, sending him through the rock he was hiding behind into a tree. As the cyborg opened his eyes, he found that his visor's camera was cracked and fuzzy, causing him to cast the armored plate off, revealing his regular visor. For a few moments, Acero looked at his friend, realizing that they've never fought each other before.

The fourth year's robotic face made some kind of smirk before standing up and combining his swords back to their great sword form and took a deep breath before making about three jumps through the trees to strike Kei.

The exhilarating rush of triumph. The red mist of rage. All these and more swirled around Kei's head, his semblance completely turning the normally stoic 4th year's expression into a cold mask and his personality flipped over, if only for a short while. Seeing Acero's normal face--well, normal for him--made Kei smile a bit, though it came out as a twisted grin due to his semblance.

As Acero leapt through the air to do another one of his aerial slashes, Kei withdrew another lance from his sheath, before catching the blade in his left hand, suspending Acero in mid-air but taking the full force of the slash. Taking this opportunity to engage, he extended his arm, stabbing Acero in the chest, before ejecting and activating the dust within, triggering an electric shock that would persist until Acero found a method to escape from the lance.

Acero grunted and groaned in pain as electricity surged through his body, causing his mechanical parts to go a little haywire, sparks flying off of the metal, his eye fizzling out. The cyborg gritted his teeth and grabbed the lance with his left hand, using his right to split his his sword in two, taking the half that Kei wasn't holding. With a yell, he thrust his sword towards Kei chest, hoping to follow with a kick regardless if his tactic worked or not.

With no lance nor Semblance at hand, Kei took both hits straight on, stumbling back from the force exerted. He'd dropped the other half of the sword at Acero's feet when he got kicked, but since he seemed dazed from the electricity that was now short-circuiting some of his implants it seemed like a good time to rearm himself. Though, that kick left him a bit winded and he'd prefer to set up another glyph, so Kei slowly backed away. At least until his back bumped into a rock. Crap. And now his scroll was vibrating, indicating he was near critical levels of aura. Double crap.

Acero took deep breaths as he picked up the other half of his sword, looking at Kei with a tired look as his implants recovered from the electric shock. The cyborg got into a readied stance, closing his eyes and taking another deep breath for a moment, savoring the few seconds of calm. Acero opened his eyes at Kei and started walking towards him, his swords readied at his sides.

With the knowledge that his aura was one hit away from being eliminated, Kei extended his arm forward, using his rapier's superior range to safely poke at Acero, jabbing three times at his chest, backing away with each thrust. Normally he used anything to his advantage, but nothing was remotely leaning toward his side for this fight. Still, he was determined to give as much as he could before bowing out.

Acero managed to evade the first two thrusts from Kei's rapier, only suffering minor chips from them. The third thrust was taken in the cyborg's robotic arm. A face of cold rage could be seen on Acero as he punched the rapier away from his body, and yelled as he tried to make a horizontal and vertical slash at Kei with his two swords.

As his thrusts hit home and his hand jarred with the last impact, Kei lost his grip on his rapier and could only watch helplessly as it spun out of his hand from the punch. With Acero bringing both swords to bear, he closed his eyes and braced himself as best he could.
Acero's twin strike scored direct hits on Kei, dropping his aura below 20%. Unable to completely shield the slashes, the velocity of the attack cut thin slits in Kei's clothing and the skin below, causing minor bleeding. Kei sank to both knees from the attack as a sign of defeat, accompanied by his scroll emitting a loud beeping noise to signify the aura level being diminished.

 Thanks for giving me a chance to try out Kei in a fighting thread. Despite the comeback it seems RNG wasn't on my side. I'm hoping we can have a bit of socialising after this, but it's up to you if you want to continue on.

Acero panted as his opponent fell to his knees, taking a good long look at him before combing and sheathing his weapon. The 4th year walked around the arena and gathered up some of Kei's lances and his own metal plate for his visor. He walked back and helped his friend up, carrying him over his shoulder to the edge of the arena.

The cyborg sat his friend down, along with his weapon and it's parts. "You alright, my friend? Sorry about that, got a little worked up there."
