Introductions, birthdays, and departures. / It's About Time
« on: October 21, 2017, 10:40:15 AM »
Alright so I've kind of dropped off the face of the earth the past month. Though y'know, posting's been kind of slow lately anyways all around. This year's been pretty tough so far, just got the Viet version of report cards out, and we're having mid terms soon, then finals/exams/i'm actually not sure what they are... then I have studying for if I want to catch up with US education and shit, plus extracurriculars and for that stupid, stupid, stupid school that I really want to get into. Point is I'm pretty busy. Also I've found that lately, posting's been more of a chore than it was fun, so uh, yeah. Even if I can squeeze in time, it just seems like an effort to post, and admittedly I've been neglecting posting in favor of more enjoyable things to wind down.

Gonna be on indefinite hiatus, friends. Don't wait up for me, replace my characters, the only reason that I'm naming this an indefinite hiatus instead of a departure is because who knows, I may feel sad one day and decide 'hey, whatever happened to that one site that I liked to write on,' and jump back in. Or more probably, just get over my whiny self because I'm fickle as fuck. It's been fun. I'll probably??? still be on Discord so just hit me up on there. If you'd like to keep my character in the team, adopt them or something, just contact me on Discord. Or just do it. I'll be fine with it as long as it's for the sake of the team, as in they stay in the team, not just for the funsies.

Beacon Academy / The Labor of Atlas [CLOSED] [ATLA-Initiation]
« on: May 03, 2017, 07:46:37 AM »
Student,

You have been chosen to be a member of the team ATLA, along with three others whose pictures, names, and contacts you’ll find attached to this message. For your initiation, you have been assigned to a possibly advanced Search and Rescue mission.

The area you will travel to is on the mountain range protecting Vale from Grimm threats elsewhere on the continent, specifically a failed attempt at building a nature reserve/luxury retreat, The Garden. It was too close to Grimm territory, particularly the territory of a triad of Totocoatls and such was taken over and destroyed. A number of people still remain on the grounds, but you are only tasked to bring back one, a woman by the name of Apple O’Hara, a prominent figure in business who herself sent an unspecified amount of carriers to the retreat for extraction of remaining civilians. Unfortunately she underestimated the Grimm there, and is now trapped along with the others. Her picture is attached below.

As for information regarding the area, it is a large expanse, but as we have heard, the remaining people have escaped to an underground bunker. Which one, and if they are all in one or not, we are not sure. These 10 bunkers are scattered around the jungle reserve, the hedge maze, and the open plains/orange orchards. .

During this mission, you will certainly meet a lot of Grimm, so do not take lightly the fact that you have clearance for it. Again, there are three Totocoatls present, along with many other Grimm that may have joined it for the takeover. You should expect some more exotic Grimm, such as Griffons, Bantou, and Beringals, along with the usual King or Emperor Taijitu, Ursa, and the like, though you may not encounter all of them and even so, this is not a mission to rid the area of Grimm. It is to retrieve Mrs. Apple O’Haracle. Nevermore and Vimanas are most definitely not present, the Totocoatls have assured their dominance over the skies in that area.

Immediately head to the hangar, a bullhead and your designated pilot/huntsman guide, Titan, is waiting. He will not assist you in the mission, but will give the leader, Aurora, two flares to fire if you succeed, or if you require immediate retrieval. As soon as you check in, maps of the area will be sent to your scrolls.

Good luck, and we hope for your safe return.

Aurora hurried to the hangar as requested in the message, sipping from her avocado smoothie in the meanwhile. She really , really did not like early mornings, but it was a thing she’d had to get used to. Didn’t mean she had to like it though. As Aurora arrived at the entrance, she immediately saw a blond-haired man with bronzed skin holding a sign with ‘Team ATLA’ on it. She then proceeded to very slowly make her way towards him, looking out for anyone who'd already arrived.

CHARACTER

Name: Aurora Hesperid
Nicknames: Rory

Age: 17, born Huā 14th

Species and Gender: Female Human

Symbol: A crescent moon covered in flowers partially surrounding a sun with flaming tendrils coming from it.

Occupation: 1st year Beacon Student and Blogger/Online Writer

Appearance: Aurora would be what you call a very pretty lass, with an ample, shapely figure and flawless (at least after the concealer) brown skin. She stands at 6’3” with a weight of 179 lbs. Her face is long with a slim and sharp jaw, high cheekbones, and big emerald eyes framed in long lashes. Her nose is high, slim, and a little crooked, a fact that Aurora is always self-conscious about. She has dark brown hair that she keeps 1-2 inches below her shoulder, something that Aurora very much treasures. Her hands and arms are frequently painted with henna, and her symbol is tattooed in black on her upper back. Something that you might’ve already guessed by now is that Aurora frequently uses cosmetics and considers herself an expert. Whether or not that may be true is still up for debate.

Her usual clothing outside of combat situations is in a boho chic style. Loose, lacy, cropped, patterned, crochet, bohemian-style things. Jewelry is often abundant as well, especially articles that bring a delicate or simple feel to an outfit. She has a particular affection for draped clothing, just a little fun fact. As for shoes, Aurora likes ankle boots, knee or thigh-high boots, and heels most of all.

Aurora’s combat outfit also reflects these preferences, and it has her weapons in mind as well. In combat, she wears a cropped v-neck lace tank top in pinkish tan, leaving room on her arms and waist for knife straps, though it should be noted that she wears equally lacy detached sleeves which flare out mid-forearm. She also wears a long cantaloupe orange double-slitted maxi dress, and let me tell you, that dress is slit high. To hold up her white stockings, Aurora also sports a garter belt. Because allure practicality. They can’t be falling down mid-fight, can they?

History: Aurora was the oldest of five in her family, consisting of two boys and three girls, Aurora, Nalini, Alex, Sona, and Rafael, from oldest to youngest. Unlike Aurora, the other four were all faunus. The small army was parented by Anjali Chandra (the faunus) and Jay Hesperid, who both worked as hunters. The family lived in the main city of Vale, well-funded though nothing special. Aurora being the oldest was expected to watch her younger siblings and all, which she did. Just not very well. She constantly shirked responsibility, scolded her siblings over practically nothing, and dumped her chores and such on the second-oldest, Nalini, no matter her young age. School-wise she was below average, though she was pretty good at writing. Aurora could’ve probably done better, she was a bright kid, but she really never found any reason to. Socially she had a lot of friends though, Aurora was quite skilled in that particular field. Pretty, nice, and funny, even if she wasn’t too academic. The lack of care disappointed her parents, Anjali especially, but any attempts to rectify her behavior turned out to be unsuccessful.

Up to the age of 10, everything was fine. At least that’s what Aurora thought. In reality, her parents were drifting apart, arguing more and more every day. Her siblings ran rampant in the house. It was nothing short of chaos at times, but Aurora never really cared. This all came to a climax when Aurora’s mother Anjali left. Just packed up her bags and walked out on the whole family. The kids were devastated, Anjali included, and so was Jay. To compensate for the loss of a second wage to help raise the kids, Jay had to take more jobs and missions, leaving the responsibility of her siblings up to Aurora when he was away. At first, she rejected this plan and refused, but soon settled into her new role as the ‘mother’ of the family. She learned how to better look after her siblings, how to clean, though they did pay the neighbor to mass-produce meals to heat up at dinner and breakfast. She was still basically running the household when her father was away and her siblings were home from school or daycare, and Aurora liked it. This new sense of responsibility also extended to school, and even though she didn’t have much time to do schoolwork at home since she had to take care of her siblings, Aurora made sure to get at least fairly good grades wherever she could. For most, divorces caused people to worsen, but it did a lot of good for Aurora.

Aurora also begged her father to send her to Signal to train to become a huntress just like her parents. Jay was hesitant at first, but he eventually caved and let Aurora attend. She absolutely loved it, and was always eager to learn more and more, doing quite well combat-wise and still maintaining okay grades. At home she still served as the head of the house, keeping everything up to par. At school she discovered her semblance quite early and on that basis, developed her combat style and weapons. As she grew up, so did her siblings, making way for more time with friends and such, regaining her foothold in that world. Her father even remarried to a wonderful former-Vacuan author by the name of Autumn who had also encouraged Aurora’s growing interest in writing, even pushing her to make a blog/story site online that quickly grew in popularity. Aurora was quite popular in real life too, a social butterfly in all aspects.

At the age of 16, Anjali magically came back. She reached out to Aurora’s siblings, being faunus like herself, wanting to become part of their lives again. What the Hesperid children didn’t know about Anjali’s departure was that a part of the split was caused by differing opinions on the White Fang, now continuously growing more violent. Anjali in favor even with the violence and increasing willingness to do 'whatever it took,' and Jay opposing, pitying them and their cause, but vehemently against their ways. What Jay didn’t know was that Anjali had been part of the White Fang for a while, by the time she came back, she had risen up the ranks, though not in the... typical way. Even so, Jay was still very much opposed to Anjali coming back into their lives, but reluctantly allowed for her to visit and try to bond with the children.

This didn’t turn out well. For one, Aurora vehemently hated Anjali, both because of the fact that she left and because of the personality she now had, caustic, biting, and haughty. Especially towards her, the only human daughter she had, and Autumn. She played nice around Jay, but he found out quickly about how different she really was. To Aurora’s siblings, Anjali was sickly sweet, spoiling them and slowly feeding them anti-human values. Jay was horrified when he found out, threatening to turn in evidence of some of her less-than-legal involvings if she didn’t stay away. Having no other choice, Anjali heeded his words. She wasn’t happy though, far from it.

She desperately wanted to see her children, but she had no way to get to them. She couldn’t keep on visiting them lest Jay expose her, and she couldn’t try for legal custody, whether dual or sole, for both that reason and that the children didn’t even like her very much, not to mention that Anjali was the one who left and Jay had much better surroundings. So how would she get ahold of her children? Well, she had connections now, she was powerful. She was no longer the woman she was six years earlier. Not long after, Jay Hesperid met his end on a mission in Mistral. His occupation was dangerous, he’d made enemies, and Mistral’s underground was no secret. It was sad, but it was no surprise. Autumn and the children were devastated. And partly suspicious as well. Custody of the children went to Anjali of course, and so they all moved in with mother dearest. Autumn wanted to keep in touch with them as well, and Anjali allowed her to so she could keep on her kids’ good side, limited and brief as the visits were.

After about a month, they started to settle in. At least the younger ones did, receiving the love and affection of Anjali. But Aurora? She was discontent. Anjali didn’t treat her badly per se, she was still her daughter, but she was still treated significantly worse than the others, and often spent her time alone or holed up in her room. Time with friends outside of school was limited, time with anyone outside of school was limited. Aurora still managed to keep in touch with Autumn outside of the steadily decreasing visits. She was still suspicious though, especially since Anjali apparently held a very menial job as an accountant, yet made surprising cash. Soon enough, through overheard conversations and even a few tailings, Aurora learned tidbits about her mother's apparently White Fang occupation, and of the fact that her father’s death hadn’t been a result of the mission. As a result, she grew to hate her mother even more, sharing the information with her step-mother and was dead-set on revenge of the exposing kind. Autumn opposed this though, fearing for the safety of Aurora and her siblings. To please her, Aurora agreed to stop and just let Autumn take care of it. Or at least she said so. But trying to find evidence against Anjali was hard, and no solid proof turned up once she learned that Aurora knew of her real job. No White Fang business or related business took place there anymore.

Throughout the whole ordeal, Aurora still went to Signal and did her dues there. When the time came, she was accepted into Beacon as well, an opportunity she took eagerly to get away from her mother, though she was reluctant about leaving her siblings alone with her. She also kept up with her blog and stories online, which had maintained their popularity.

Personality: Aurora is a very personable kind of gal with a kind of magnetic personality, the kind of charisma that draws you in, evident in the number of friends and acquaintances she has. Backing that up, she’s also flirty and sociable, funny as well, though sometimes at the expense of others. As in, her sense of humor sometimes comes at the cost of putting others down. Though it should be noted that she tries to apologize whenever it wouldn’t ruin the mood.

Otherwise, she’s still what you would call a nice or sweet person, generally wishing the best for everyone else. Aurora can even be motherly and caring to people she sees as needing it and people she just likes to fuss over. Adding to her substance, she’s strong-willed and fiercely loyal as well. Though on the flip side she’s a bit petty and self-centered, getting attached easily as well. And if someone makes her upset, you can bet she’ll hold a grudge for as long as possible until they apologize and then go to the ends of the earth to win back her favor. Luckily, this doesn’t come easily. She also tends to have little patience regarding the shortcomings or incompetence of others, thinking herself better than others.

Intelligence-wise she's pretty much average, though she's clever in social situations and a skilled liar. Aurora does sometimes dumb herself down to fit in with others though. A note is that she's fairly racist towards Faunus.

Aura and Semblance: Aurora’s aura is fairly strong, able to heal more and do more in general, though the amount is only average, as is the resilience. The color of her aura is a cantaloupe orange.

Her semblance is a crude telekinesis semblance, with it she can push objects away, pull them close, or hold them in place relevant to their proximity to Aurora. She can’t move them in any direction, only to her or away from her. These limits do have their own advantages though, such as less strain, enough to heavily rely on her semblance in combat. It should be noted that the faster the object moves and the heavier her load, the more the strain. At most, she can move around 300 pounds total, and as for speed, it varies based off of each individual object’s weight:

> 1 pound : up to 60 mph
1-60 pounds: up to 50 mph
60-120 pounds: up to 40 mph
120-180 pounds: up to 30 mph
180-210 pounds: up to 20 mph
210-240 pounds: up to 10 mph
240-300 pounds: up to 3 mph

(Note: this is not counting any objects that might be in the way to provide resistance)

The range of movement would be within Aurora's line of sight, and close enough that she can clearly make out what the object is. Objects can remain hovering outside of Aurora's sight though, like if she turns her head and can't see it anymore. Of course, she can't use these against living organisms, though she may be able to pull them by other objects, such as their clothing and such. Neither can she take control over aura-covered objects. As such, she is not able to stop other's peoples attacks with her semblance, though she is able to deflect or parry them.

Combat Behavior: Aurora is a more than formidable fighter, with speed and strength on her side, very familiar with the strategy of overwhelming others. Her endurance is also high, adding to her strengths. Aurora can also fight multiple opponents at once without too too much difficulty, though any number above 3 is out of the question. Overall, her combat style is very fluid and acrobatic, pretty as well. Unfortunately this fluidity can be something that she relies on too much, which is where her weaknesses come in. If this fluidity in movement is disrupted, she’ll lose balance, rhythm, leaving herself wide open for a few moments. Even without this, Aurora has poor defense in general with fighters who use kicks and speedsters, as the former provides an unusual angle of attack for her to block, and the latter is fast enough to disrupt her movement, her overwhelming tactics.

Close-quarters combat, though something Aurora is skilled in, is not her only or main form of combat. She also uses her throwing knives, equal in importance with her particular style. As such, Aurora may start out with either style, and is equally skilled in them. In this knife-throwing, Aurora sometimes uses her semblance to boost her throws or fix her trajectory, then of course uses it to pull the knives back. Also, she is able to use it to deflect arrows, though against guns and the such she is powerless.

WEAPON

Name: Nyx (left) and Hemera (right)

Primary Form: Dual wielded machetes stored on her back.

Dust Functions: Nyx and Erebus only ever utilize one type, kinetic repulsion dust to give some knockback if Aurora ever wants or needs it. The dust is inserted via a hatch on each blade handle, and can be left empty if she wishes.

History: Aurora made them at Signal. Seeing their simplicity, her teachers expressed some discontentment at them. Until she revealed the rest of her arsenal.

WEAPON2/MISCELLANEOUS WEAPONS

Name: None

Primary Form: Fifty throwing knives stored practically everywhere on her body thanks to a bunch of straps. Eight around her midriff, two on her upper arms, twenty on a belt over her skirt, ten around her mid-thighs, and ten around her calves.

Each knife type has a slightly different appearance, though the base is the same: steel hilt wrapped in a thin layer of light pink yarn for grip, a short, double-edged steel blade continuing from the hilt, each only about 6 inches long. Knives that use lightning Dust have a yellow lightning bolt engraving on the hilt, knives that use the repulsion mix have a target-like design in gray, knives that use fire have an orange flame, and knives that use ice have a light blue snowflake.

Dust Functions: All of her throwing knives utilize Dust in them, however one should keep in mind that each are one use only, so until the Dust canister is refilled, they will be normal throwing knives. Before their use, it’s possible to use the knives just as normal throwing knives as well by not activating the Dust.
-Lightning (10 knives on her skirt) : Electrocutes whatever the blade lands in. If 5 or more blades land within five feet of each other, they will form a grid of electricity between themselves. This grid will stay up for 5 seconds before fizzling out.
-Repulsion + a bit of fire and glass (20 knives, the 10 on her midriff and arms and 10 on her skirt) : Provides a good amount of force against whatever it lands in, enough to knock back an average human being, with additional damage thanks to the fire and glass Dust.
-Fire (the 10 knives around her calves) : Ignites whatever the blade lands in. If 5 or more blades land within five feet of each other, they will connect to each other by flame.
-Ice (the 10 around her thighs) : Gradually freezes the area within a 2 foot radius of the blade.

History: Aurora designed these at Signal to complement her semblance.

Approved Characters / Lien Li

CHARACTER

Name: Lien Ngọc Đỗ Li (Li Đỗ Ngọc Lien)

Age: Born Saaral 18th

Species and Gender: Female Reindeer Faunus

Symbol: A stylized black outline of a lotus flower with long spiraling ‘stems’ emerging out of it.

Occupation: Second Year Beacon Student

Appearance: Lien is tall and willowy at 5’11” and 135 lbs with a very slight athletic build and no real curves. Her whole build is very diminutive, with very slim limbs, and a head that’s almost always bowed in habit from her servant days. Even her fingers are thin and her shoulders are narrow. Her face is sweet and bright, though the latter might simply because Lien tends to smile a lot, even if it’s just a small one. Her face is soft, with full cheeks and low cheekbones. Overall she’s just cute, but not enough too be pretty. And her nose is in the way a bit as well, it’s just a little too flat and a little too wide for most people’s liking. Lien’s eyes are fairly nice, downturned and deep set, the color nothing but a simple brown though. Her mouth is rosy and on the full side, though not too too much. Lien's hair is very long and thick, even reaching lower than her back. It's black and wavy. But only very slightly so. Compared to her identical twin Linh, Lien has more of a fuller face. Her symbol is tattooed on her back. As a sign of her being a Faunus, Lien has a set of reindeer horns on top of her head.

For non-combat scenarios, Lien prefers simple clothing, clothing that is light and loose, to better let her breathe. She also vehemently hates high heels and will rarely, if ever, wear them. Though she usually wears simple clothing, she will also value high-quality clothing and treasure it, especially if it includes embroidery. You can also frequently see her wearing clothing that she herself has modified or added embroidery to, or even made from scratch in a few scenarios. She’s simply so-so at making clothing from scratch though, so ‘few’ is the key word here. Cosmetics are frequently used, but not on the lips, as she tends to bite her lips and ruin whatever she’s put on there.

Lien’s combat outfit consists of a backless light pink silk halter top tied around the neck and on the lower back by strings. Accompanying this are tight jeggings and her boots. (See Weapon2)Over this outfit is a jade green floor-length loose jacket/dress with long, slim sleeves and a high collar. Mid-sternum is a clasp holding the top part together while the bottom gradually parts to the sides slightly. This is slightly modeled off of the traditional áo mệnh phụ.

An accessory Lien always wears is a silver slave bracelet with a spreading and intricate design, looped around her middle finger.

History:
tl;dr version: ShowHide
Lien was born in Mistral to her father, Hoàng Khánh Văn Lê (Lê Văn Khánh Hoàng), an archaeologist, and her mother, Anh Kiều Thị Nguyễn (Nguyễn Thị Kiều Anh), who was a stay at home mom. She had a little sister named Linh Diệu Lê (Lê Diệu Linh) who she shared a close bond with. Her parents were caring and they had a nice home, a nice life. On one trip Hoàng took to take a look at some old relics in Vacuo, he brought his family along for Anh’s birthday celebration. Grimm attacked the family and the bodyguards left Linh behind because she was hidden by sand. Lien’s parents died of bloodloss at the hospital. She then was moved back to Mistral for the funeral and placement at an orphanage. She spent her time miserably there until her new parents adopted her, Akio and Nanami Shirogane.

The Shiroganes worked as (high-ranking) servants for Ning and Wei Yao, a powerful and wealthy Mistrali family to ‘repent’ for a crime they’d committed in the past. At first it was okay, the Yaos and Shiroganes being on good terms, but as the White Fang became more violent, the Yaos became scared because they took advantage of Faunus labor. Ning and Wei started to become crueler and more racist to Faunus in private, Lien included, who was now forced to work with her parents when not at school. They also grew paranoid that others would betray them, so they held Nanami and Akio’s crime over their heads to keep them loyal. When Lien was 10, Ning and Wei’s daughter, Yu, died, and the Weis become even more paranoid and embittered, hiring more security of the robotic kind to guard the manor and other establishments. Akio was made to do Wei’s dirty work, increasing the blackmail he had on the Shiroganes. Lien was treated even worse, and her parents even pulled her out of school, simply hiring tutors and combat trainers to keep her safe. She’d always wanted to be a huntress, so she relished the opportunity, even with her surroundings. When Lien was 15, the Yaos were setting up a plan to draw the White Fang out, sending some of their armed personnel onto a cruise ship they said they’d be going on while really staying at the manor. The White Fang caught wind of this and they sent a smaller group to sink the ship and a larger one to raid the manor, disguising it as a trip to steal to divert blame on the death of Wei and Ning. The White Fang succeeded, killing the Yaos. The Shiroganes escaped unscathed and ran to Vale, where they started anew and enrolled Lien in Beacon when it was time.

Lien was born in Mistral to her father, Hoàng Khánh Văn Li (Li Văn Khánh Hoàng), an archaeologist, and her mother, Anh Kiều Thị Nguyễn (Nguyễn Thị Kiều Anh), who stayed at home to take care of the pair’s children. Yes, plural, as Lien also had a sister by the name of Linh Diệu Li (Li Diệu Linh). The two sisters were very close as they grew up, though they still went through all of the childish notions that toddlers and young children may go through. Hoàng and Anh were very good parents, the former being a tough love kind of guy, always solid as a rock and often stern as well, but still harboring endless amounts of love for his children, which was shown every once in a way. The latter was a sweet and kind mother, very dedicated to her family, and knowing when to be strict too. Lien’s family was fairly secure money-wise, and had a comfortable home as well. They all were very close and happy. It seemed perfect. It was perfect.

Until one day when the twins were about four and a half years old. Their father had to take a look at some old relics in Vacuo, and seeing as the family hadn’t been to Vacuo yet, coupled with the fact that Anh’s birthday would pass during the time that it would take for the job to be completed, Hoàng took the whole family along to Vacuo with him. The place they were staying at seemed great, however hot and sandy. It was a fitting getaway and all, but all was not well. On the day of Anh’s birthday, the family was traveling along what had seemed to be and was reported as an ‘adequately safe’ passageway when a few Grimm came and flipped the vehicle. Hoàng did have a small convoy with him, but they were no match for the Totocoatl and Shenzi that attacked. Lien’s parents were severely injured and bleeding out, while Linh was thrown out into the sand and knocked unconscious. Panicking and fearing for their lives, the bodyguards grabbed Lien and her parents and ran, leaving Linh because she’d been hidden by the sand, leading them to believe that she’d been eaten or killed, or something of the sort. Plus, they were in a hurry. However hurried or fast they were though, it wasn’t enough. Hoàng and Anh had lost too much blood by the time they reached the hospital, and they died there. Lien, though injured, was luckily mostly spared from the Grimm’s terror. Physically at least, because the horrid event had orphaned her and taken away her sister.

Shortly after, Lien was sent back to Mistral for her parents’ funeral and for her to be sent to an orphanage there as well. She didn’t take to it too well, being very attached to her parents, so Lien cried often and never seemed to be happy, always asking where her parents were, where her sister was… After half a year of misery at the orphanage, Lien was adopted by a couple by the name of Akio and Nanami Shirogane to live with them, who allowed Lien to keep her original surname.

This might’ve not been the most well-off couple, however kind and good they were at parenting. They lived with the Yaos, a powerful and rich family in Mistral, as their personal servants. High-ranked, yes, but still servants. Curiously enough, it wasn’t because of a lack of other available jobs or because they had some large debt owed, but because it was like compensation for a crime the couple had committed towards the current heads of the family, Ning and Wei, that resulted in the death of Wei’s original promised bride and Ning’s sister, Jia. Lien was never told what exactly this crime was and was only told that it even existed by a slip of the tongue. The Yaos had long forgiven the pair, but the Shiroganes still insisted on serving them to make up for their mistakes.

Anyway, they worked as a servant for the Yaos and their daughter Yu. Soon enough, Lien would join them. Of course not at first, she only a little over five when she entered the household and she was treated as any child would be by their parents. Ning and Wei actually really did like Lien, thinking her to be very cute and joyful. Lien soon grew to love and adore Akio and Nanami, treating them as if they were her real parents. She still missed Hoàng and Anh of course, but she was okay. Normal. She went to school as well, in a little public one in the city.

Unfortunately, as fate had it, this peace was not to last for long. The White Fang were getting more and more violent, and with that, the Yaos were getting worse. Their businesses admittedly took advantage of Faunus labor at times, and at the time was a ripe target for the White Fang. The attack didn’t happen yet, but they knew it would happen soon. Their view of Faunus became twisted, they became fearful for their safety and wealth, fearful of the White Fang. This made problems worse, as the more they spoke out against the White Fang and didn't acknowledge the accusations about using Faunus laborers, the more the White Fang targeted them. In private, they also were quite racist, a far cry from the selves they showed in public. As a result of this, they started to mistreat Lien. She was a Faunus after all. She was pushed around and mocked cruelly. By the time she was 9, they even made her help her parents with serving them. Speaking of her adopted parents, since the circle of trust was getting smaller every day, the Yaos wanted a way to make sure that people would never betray them. Knowing the Shiroganes to be good people, Ning and Wei often reminded them of the crime they had committed against the Yaos, holding it over them if they ever showed even the slightest sign of resigning from their position, which was much higher by now, because of said narrowing of the circle of trust.

The situation got progressively worse, reaching a peak when the daughter, Yu, was killed in an attempt on the whole family’s lives. Ning and Wei were devastated, driving them to become even more paranoid than they used to be, driven by fear and grief, making them embittered and cruel. For the manor, they hired more guards for the place, robotic ones to ensure there would be no chance of the new enforcement team rebelling. The Shiroganes, fearing for their own safety, trained themselves in the basics of combat, their daughter included. Lien took the opportunity eagerly, as she had always wanted to be a huntress, thanks to the stories her birth mother told her about her huntress days, before she quit. To further ensure the loyalty of the Shiroganes, the Yaos forced Akio to do their dirty work. More blackmail and now they had someone to do their dirty work for them. Win-Win situation. For the Yaos. For Akio and Nanami, it was like hell on earth. Lien too, as she didn't spend very much time with other people her age, thanks to the fact that her adoptive parents withdrew her from public school and instead hired tutors for a private education instead, hoping to keep her safe.

During the next five, six years of her life, Lien lived this way, mistreated by the Yaos and their staff because she was a Faunus, made to serve them at all times. On the up side, she was still training in combat, and she did have tutors that would come and catch her up on things other children were learning in school. When she was 14, she even had her own weapons, Zhì and Zhōng made. Lien tried her very best to keep a good heart and exhibit the virtues imbued in her from happier times, but that didn’t stop her sadness and anger. She wanted to escape, and become a huntress. It’d been her lifelong dream. But Lien knew that the constraints of her adopted parents could never allow that. Until that one fateful day…

She was 15, still living her terrible life. The Yaos had just come up with a plan to try luring the White Fang out, announcing that they were going to go on a cruise, but actually staying in the manor and sending their most skilled guards on the cruise instead, armed to the teeth with weaponry. It took months to plan out and ensure that there were no failures. Those months were in vain. Somehow, the White Fang had learned of this plan, staging one of their own. One group would go and secretly sink the ship to make it look like an accident, and the other would raid the mansion, knowing that the Yaos would still be there, and stage it as an attack to pillage and steal. That way there wasn’t too much bad press directed at them for murder, and the smart ones would get the message. Both plans were carried out, but the Yaos made the fatal mistake of not increasing security at their manor in case, which led to the White Fang overpowering the defenses, then killing Ning and Wei. Meanwhile, Lien, Akio, and Nanami hid the whole time, escaping harm and running away from the mansion unscathed.

After the tragic event, the family of three moved to Vale to start anew. Lien continued her training and schooling at a nearby, smaller little combat school. They decided to all turn their backs on the past and what tragedies had occurred then, focusing on their new, normal life in Vale. Of course, the events that’d happened left their mark on the three, especially Akio, but the family did their best to forget that and try to be happy. When the time came, Lien applied and got into Beacon academy.

Her first year was eventful, where she formed a close bond with her teammates. Though some parts of her Lien kept close and away from anyone else. She did fairly well in academics, being a quick learner and bright person. The missions were her favorite part though.

Personality: Lien is someone that you could describe as shy or meek. Even to a close friend, she will still be reserved and quiet, very much valuing her privacy. This brings me to the next point, which is that Lien is something of a lone wolf. She’s also very prideful and stubborn (she calls it having a lot of perseverance), making her rarely accept help from others. Still, Lien is a very polite and gracious person, kind and the epitome of a lady to people she likes. Being one of these people is quite easy, as Lien is easily impressed, though gaining her trust is very hard. Especially if you’re human. She doesn’t like humans very much. Or at all really… She will of course treat them with common courtesy, but will occasionally quip rudely and harbor dislike for them

On the other side of the scale, Lien is also easily saddened and easily angered. She cries quite easily, but will usually try her best to hide this fact. She doesn’t blow up very easily though. Lien is what some would call… passive aggressive. She has a lot of pent up anger and sadness too. Even other ‘happier’ emotions, because Lien believes that outer appearance is very very important, and she should be consistently virtuous and, well, consistent. Felicity wouldn’t hurt either, but Lien would be what you call socially awkward, since she really didn’t have many friends growing up. Oh, and she holds grudges. For a surprisingly long time.

Lien was raised to value a select few virtues, some of those being intelligence, placidity, loyalty, happiness, and deference. At all times, she strives to embody these virtues, to varying degrees of success. Sometimes placidity, loyalty, and defereence can make her overly obedient and easy to step on. At first. She will not hesitate to stand up for herself if she feels she has to. Then again, to Lien, these instances are few and far between.

Knowledge-wise, Lien is on both sides of the scale. One one side, she’s very clever and a quick learner, eager to pick up new things and learn as well. Academically talented, definitely, even if her education range might’ve not been as wide as others who attended public schools or combat schools. On the other side, Lien is clueless about a lot of things that one might consider ‘in’ or relevant. Technology isn’t her strong suit either, and she may need help operating a scroll or computer. Though she thinks reading is a fun pastime, her knowledge or popular books is also very limited, the Yao manor library off limits to her most of the time due to the large number of valuable scripts there.

Fun fact: Lien loves food. A lot.

Aura and Semblance: Lien‘s aura is a jade green. She is a skilled aura user, with a strong aura to boot.

Lien’s semblance is Foresight, the ability to see the trajectory of moving objects. For instance, a thrown knife, she would be able to see its continuing path. A melee attack, she’d be able to see where it would land if the item in question continues on that exact course of action. If it does not, then Lien will see the new path, though sometimes this is too late. This power is selective, and Lien is only able to use it at maximum three objects at a time, limbs counting as their own objects. The larger the object, the more the strain. In general though, Lien is usually able to keep her semblance up for long amounts of time, since it is so passive.

Combat Behavior: Lien has a very simple fighting style, using short and quick moves only, minimizing movement while still keeping the effectiveness. If she does utilize any ‘fancy’ moves, they will usually be equally effective. She fights close-range and mostly utilizes punching and striking. Since she was first trained in Savate and Sikaran for a while before switching to more effective styles and not martial arts, her style incorporates a lot of elements from those two. Keeping it simple and uncomplicated, but to the watcher very fluid and almost pretty to watch. The rhythm is noticeable as well. Unfortunately this rhythm and simplicity can make Lien predictable and give her opponent an easier time combating her. On the pro side, Lien hits hard and fast, a skilled and strong fighter, aided by her weapons. When Zhì and Zhōng are in their dormant form, which Lien doesn’t use very often, she’s can be a little too cautious about them. Obviously, she doesn’t punch as much as claw and strike when they’re in their dormant form. In general, Lien focuses a lot on defense, conserving her aura. This can tire her out before she gets to deal too much damage to her opponent. A note is that she prefers to dodge rather than block, and that she frequently uses her semblance in combat.

WEAPON

Name: Zhì and Zhōng (Intelligence and loyalty)

Primary Form: In their ‘dormant’ form, Zhì and Zhōng take the form of five long golden nail guards adorned with jade. Different from usual nail guards, these are much more sturdy and resilient, and also are attached much more securely on the finger. The ends and edges are also sharpened so that Zhì and Zhōng may still be used as weapons in this form.

Secondary Form: Zhì and Zhōng transform into glove-like weapons, the long edges of the nail guards that extend past the finger folding back to create the part around the rest of her hand, following the design of her slave bracelet, which is less jewelry than an addition to Lien’s weapon. A sharp point is still left at her fingertips, just a much shorter one. In the center of the back of her hand is a contraption that utilizes dust to power her attacks.

Dust Functions: Zhì and Zhōng use kinetic dust to power their wearer’s attacks via contraption on the back of Lien’s hands at all times. This kinetic dust is also mixed with a bit of fire dust as well, to give them an extra kick to them.

History: When the Yaos required her to learn to defend herself, Lien designed Zhì and Zhōng herself with the help of her parents and some nice people at the place where she had them made.

WEAPON2

Name: None

Primary Form: Her boots. Or rather the half-foot long blades on the back.

Dust Functions: None

History: She had them installed in Mistral.

WiP Characters / Aurora Hesperid (moved)
« on: January 28, 2017, 11:54:03 AM »

Unlike Aurora, the other four were all cat faunus.

At school she discovered her semblance quite early, and on that basis, developed her combat style and weapons. As she grew up, so did her siblings, and she had more time with friends and such, regaining her foothold in that world. Her father even remarried to a wonderful former-Vacuan author by the name of Autumn, who had also encouraged Aurora’s growing interest in writing, even pushing her to make a blog/story site online that quickly grew in popularity.

Anjali in favor even with the violence, and Jay opposing, pitying them and their cause, but vehemently against their ways. What Jay didn’t know was that Anjali had been part of the White Fang for a while, by the time she came back, she had risen to the rank of Master Sergeant. Jay was still very much opposed to Anjali coming back into their lives, but reluctantly allowed for her to visit and try to bond with the children.

Jay was horrified when he found out, threatening to turn in evidence of her involvement in the White Fang if she didn’t stay away.

Well, she was White Fang now, she was powerful. She had resources and she was no longer the woman she was six years earlier.

Soon enough, through overheard conversations and even a few tailings, Aurora learned of her mother’s occupation, and of the fact that her father’s death hadn’t been a result of the mission. But trying to find evidence that Anjali was a member of the White Fang was hard, and no solid proof turned up once she learned that Aurora knew of her real job. The house was no longer a central site, and no White Fang activities took place.

Beacon Academy / A Stab At Team Building [Team BTRA]
« on: January 08, 2017, 08:54:58 AM »
The day was bright. Cold and all but clear and crisp with a lot of sun and not a cloud in the sky. A soft wind blew throughout, sending chills and pinking cheeks. Despite the temperature, Vale proper was still lively and busy, populated but not enough to make it overly crowded. You could hear the familiar tinkling of bells as doors opened, the ever-present buzz of chatting and talking, the soft roar of vehicles on the street, and occasionally a call from some food stall or peddler going about the streets sounding out above everything else. Numerous people held shopping bags filled with all kinds of things, a good number of those things food stuffs, as the farmer's market was only a few blocks away. The smell of cinnamon wafted through the air, able to be traced back to a certain vender and their glazed pastries, a group of four standing beside him as well.

"Oh, I just love cinnamon rolls!" exclaimed a member of the group, almost bouncing up and down in excitement. Prim wore the same clothes as always, but now with a scarf, thicker tights, earmuffs, and uggs to combat the cold. "They're just so sweet and warm, perfect for a cold day!" A cute giggle escaped her mouth as she turned from the other three members of her team to face the person selling the aforementioned pastries. "Hey Noel, it's absolutely amazing to see you again. Looks good as always!"

"Aww, thanks Primrose, you're such a sweetheart! I'm very much looking forwards to that order for next week. My niece will love it, I'm sure, she sings your praises day and night!" The plump woman smiled warmly at Prim before blowing a strand of thin carrot-colored hair out of her face. That proving unsuccessful, she simply pushed the strand behind her ear and into the wool hat hiding the rest of her graying locks. "I can see why though, your mother's pastries are so delectable I have half a mind to just raid the place right now! And you're not too shabby yourself! Look at that, ballerina, flutist and violinist by day, huntress saving the world by night! Your teammates, right? Oh, you grow up so fast!"

Prim giggled again, complaining "Ell..... Come on!" But it was all in good spirits, no matter how slightly embarrassing. "It's huntress in training by the way, I still have almost four years until I graduate from Beacon! Yeah though, these are my teammates, the members of Team Betray! Okay, so it sounds kinda bad, but trust me, it's awesome, we're awesome! Noel, say hi to Akeldama, Ace, and Fallow!" As she said each name, she pointed to their respective owners off-handedly, actually messing up whose name belonged to who because she was mostly focusing onto Noel at the moment.

Noel did just that, waving at the other three students with her gloved hand. "Hello children, it's very nice to meet you. But you're not here to listen to some antediluvian croak prattle on, are you?" She laughed good-naturedly before saying, "Now, I bet you're here because Prim dragged you along for my cinnabuns. Some of you look like you could use some fattening up, there's no use in training if you're not well-fed is there? Come on, whaddaya say?" Before letting anyone answer though, Noel started up again, determined this time. "You know, I'm not giving you a choice. One cinnamon roll for each of you! Ten percent off too! It's the least I could do for this angel's friends."

Mauve leaned back on her bed's headrest, trying to focus on the book she was holding at the moment. Mystery this time, she was really excited to read it. But that was two weeks ago. When Fortuna hadn't broken the news yet. Now, they were waiting for the new guy, Russel Omhiaba, Fortuna's replacement. Now FIRE was going to become ROSE apparently. At least her initial was first this time. But Russel was still a wildcard. The possibilities were endless. What if he didn't fit in well with the team? That wouldn't do well. And it would be her responsibility to keep him in check and hopefully help him fit in as well.

It was doubtful he could ever fill the shoes of Fortuna though. Mauve wanted to keep an open mind but Fortuna had become her best friend, however short their time was. Even when the news came that her dear teammate was in fact, not as aristocratic as she acted, instead coming from humble roots in rural and quaint Vale. Beacon had been too much for her it seemed. And she'd also mentioned something about her family needing her back home too. Mauve was obviously crestfallen at the news, but she'd simply accepted the situation, respected her friend's decision, and made sure that they could stay in touch. Not a crinkle or crease, just as perfect as always. It’d only been a day since she’d left and Beacon was sending a replacement up already.

This new team member didn’t seem all too great at the moment though. She’d paid some of the right people and they’d given her some information in return. What? She had money, she knew how to use it. And Mauve had been slightly worried at this ‘Russel,’ more specifically, his background. Terrible accident that rendered family members killed. Tragic pasts sometimes had consequences. Then again, she was one to talk. Open mind, open mind… Maybe he wouldn’t be so bad. Apparently from Atlas, so maybe she could use that connection? Perhaps.

“He should be here soon,” she said aloud to the other two in the dorm room. “The time is approaching four-thirty. He might be late though, people tend to be late sometimes. I don’t like to be late, but I’m not infallible either.” Realizing that she was being very, very awkward, Mauve promptly shut up and returned her attention to the book in hand. ’What? They’ve already apprehended the suspect? When did that happen?’ Yeah, no, she was definitely not paying attention enough.

Alright ladies and gents, seeing as some people have left the site, Arc and I have found some of our characters lacking a team. Honestly, all of my characters' teams have been effed up, but Prim's team doesn't really exist anymore to be fixed.

So yeah. Primrose Aster's up, in my signature, and Arc's character Fallow Russet too. Any takers, post below. Not first come first serve, yada yada yada...

Team Name-Pending has been formed! Consists of:
Akeldama Blood-heart
Ace N. Thaholl (I see what you did there. Well, Arc did and he pointed it out, so now I see what you did there)
Primrose Aster
Fallow Russet

Approved Characters / Cerise Carnelian
« on: December 17, 2016, 08:36:56 AM »
Name: Cerise Carnelian

Age: 18, Born Hitahita 24th

Species and Gender: Female Cougar/Mountain Lion Faunus

Theme: The Lost One’s Weeping

Symbol: A carnelian stone-like circle imprinted with a black and white design of drama masks.

Occupation: First Year Beacon Student

Appearance: Many people have summed up Cerise’s appearance in a variation of one of these following phrases: ‘hard to describe,’ ‘in-between,’ or ‘almost pretty.’ Sometimes a combination of the three. She has average-sized lips, eyes, a face that isn’t dramatically angular nor cherub-like round, and hair that isn’t straight nor wavy nor curly, but somewhere in-between, even though that should be wavy. The length isn’t long or short either, just a few inches below her shoulder. Her cheekbones are averagely high, her lashes are short, her figure, though not completely straight up and down, isn’t particularly curvy or anything, and neither are her stats. 5’6”, 134 lbs, expected muscle for a student at a combat academy... The expressions she uses don’t help either, as they’re usually very subtle or seemingly devoid of emotion. Her eyes are probably the only things that really stand out about her, as they’re a striking cobalt blue, a decent contrast against her dark skin and pitch black hair. Your eye also might be drawn to the long black claws she has, if not for the fact that those were almost always hidden, retracted.

Her usual attire consists of mainly untucked button-ups and long or oversized shirts combined with leggings or skinny jeans, occasionally a formal blouse or light sweater somewhere in there. Cardigans and drape jackets aren’t a rare sight either. For footwear, she usually wears converse, slip-ons or just simple flats.

Combat outfit: A berry red combat skirt with an above elbow, split-sleeved bodice. This bodice is boat necked with a fit like a loose blouse. Holding it tight and together is something like an underbust corset, but with no shape, simply a thick band around her waist and a portion of her ribs, white with a red ribbon in the middle, tied in a bow at the back. The skirt portion flares from just above the hips and is about tea-length, a bit longer than most combat skirts. For a little protection, this outfit is paired with golden vambraces and greaves, running shoes being her choice footwear. The fabric portions are infused with dust patterns, giving a sparkling effect in those patterns. The inside of the bodice is infused with ice dust, in the style of the Vacuans.

History: When Cerise was born, she was not born alone, but with a twin by the name of Scarlett. The two Carnelian twins were raised by two Atlesian scientists by the names of Amber and Cordovan. The twins lived in Atlas for the first six years of their life, which were pretty happy. Then again, it was pretty easy to be happy when you were so young. Even if your parents were the type that wanted you to talk early, walk early, read early... Also the type who tended to show off a lot. But then again, most parents could fit into the latter of those criteria. Anyway, there was steady money coming in from both sides, no financial troubles or anything. Sure, there were a few more instances with babysitters than normal, but it wasn’t anything too too serious. Their job was stressful to say the least. Not only was it the job itself, but how seriously Atlas treated their scientists. That, and how they treated their jobs themselves. They put a lot of pressure on themselves to do well, they were immersed in it. They loved their jobs. They loved their kids. Life was nice.

Alas, this was not meant to last forever, as the family eventually had to relocate to Vale. The reason? A windy day and Cordovan's hat, which was apparently very susceptible to being blown off by gusts of wind. That's right. Cordovan was a Faunus, a Faunus that was hiding that fact, because as you probably know already, Atlas didn't take to his kind very well. There was no place for one there, not really. Atlas didn't want a Faunus in a position high as Cordovan was. They knew that if they stayed, their lives would be a lot harder. They'd have to face off against discrimination, and possibly lose their jobs in the process. It wouldn't take long for someone to think that maybe the wife of that cougar Faunus was one as well, and after someone had that bright idea, Amber's identity as a wolf Faunus would take no time in being revealed. So the pair left, their children in tow. They didn't like Vacuo so much, too hot, too... absolutely opposite of Atlas... Which they still preferred above all else, even with so much anti-Faunus stuff around there. Mistral was too isolated from other kingdoms and settlements. So Vale it was. They got jobs as scientists there as well, though not as high-up as they were in Atlas. Not as well paying either, but it was still far from not being enough. And not long after, everything was the same again. Or as close to the same that you could get when you were in a different kingdom. But it was normal. Just... normal.

The trouble started once the twins entered sixth grade though. Scarlett was shooting ahead, she breezed through classes and homework easily. Always the favorite of the teacher, always the one who had her hand up in class, also always the one that people flocked to. Ease in studies and social situations, now wasn't that unfair? Especially for Cerise, who always had trouble with them. She could never really wrap her head around everything, as easy as it was for most others. As easy as everyone else thought it'd be for her, since her parents were scientists, right? So she must be amazing at her studies too! She must be amazing at math, at science, at memorization, all of those things. She wasn't. She struggled. Her memory was horrible. And then around other students, she was always too detached. People said that they'd tried to befriend her, yeah, but it just seemed that she preferred the company of a book rather than the company of other people. This, was not true. Cerise might've acted very aloof and antisocial, but she craved attention and interaction, not in a way where she always needed attention, but where she was easily lonely, needed people around her most of the time. Because of her actions and attitude towards others, this was something that she did not get very often. It didn’t take long for her parents to become worried and pushy. Grades were sinking, always seemed so guarded and detached, so different from their darling Scarlett. They became concerned. After a while, she was diagnosed with mild developmental dyscalculia, something that had heavily impeded her ability to learn, though Cerise stayed in normal classes, simply with tutors. And lax grade expectations when it came to math and the subjects that utilized it. Scarlet didn’t need it though. It was always 'Scarlet scored a perfect grade in math again' and 'Scarlet has so many friends, she's so popular and nice' and just everything was about her sister, even if her parents didn’t mean it. They were always very supportive and helpful, but they liked to brag about their children. Mostly Scarlet. The closeness that the two twins had once shared seemed to have disappeared, they went their separate ways, they weren't the power twins anymore, the best friends, they were just normal siblings, ones who fought, ones who didn't really understand the other at times. Of course there was always one that outperformed the other. Tired of it, Cerise made a promise to herself to be better. Not better than Scarlett. Better than herself. She wouldn't be the under-performing one when Scarlett had near-perfect grades. She wouldn't be the one who could play piano when her twin sister knew piano, viola, clarinet, and could sing! So Cerise pretended that it was all so easy, that it was simply a breeze, that it was fun, when in reality she spent hours on end studying over and over again, hours memorizing advanced vocabulary to snub other students. She even wore non-prescription glasses to look smarter.

This made Cerise look smarter, yes, at least to her peers, but to herself, it didn’t do much. She still hated math, she still hated absolutely all aspects of science. She could paint a little, but that wouldn’t do much. If someone had asked her what she would do with her life, Cerise would be at a loss. She didn’t have anything that she could contribute to society, nothing that she shone in, nothing that she could make into a stable career. Well, teaching. But she didn’t think that her parents would be satisfied, and her lack of social skills would make classes into one very big hot mess. To be honest, she wouldn’t be satisfied either. It wasn’t just her parents, her peers, that expected something out of her, it was herself. What could she do to make a difference? The answer came to her easily. Become a huntress. There was no lack of stories about them, they were people who truly made a mark, did something. Cerise was convinced that being a huntress was the path for her, and after much pleading, her parents reluctantly agreed to let her try it. So she tried it. She liked it. She enrolled in a local combat school. And then? She got into Beacon.

Personality: Cerise could be described as austere and impassive, and has been described that way by others more than a few times. The fact that she’s a very prideful person absolutely does not help this image, as it causes her to scarcely ask for help or admit that she has trouble with some things. Furthering the isolation from her peers, Cerise has a tendency to be quite hot-tempered, being ticked off easily and exploding at the smallest things, having little restraint or patience. Actually, aside from the cold and icy part, Cerise is a very intense person. Hot-tempered with little patience or restraint, and let’s not even talk about her envy and insecurity, or even the lengths she went to to not ask for help in impressing her parents. Even her austere nature is intense, to the point where most of her interactions with other people only consist of blunt, clipped speech, or outright sneering. Then again, part of this reason might be that Cerise is aware of and  makes sure to enhance some of these qualities, mostly the ‘holier than thou’ act, even making sure to used very enhanced vocab, to impress.

Like most harsh people, she is a different person inside. She’s very insecure and easily envious, as stated in the above paragraph. She’s never had a significant other, but rest assured that she’ll only be mildly obsessive. She’s also somewhat of an introvert with high social need, which means that she much prefers the company of herself but gets lonely very very easily. This loneliness will also be quite crippling emotionally, so therefore social interaction is even more important for Cerise. Unfortunately the ‘introvert’ part means that she will usually not be the instigator of a conversation or interaction with another person. She’s also fairly socially awkward, though over the years it’s changed from awkward to cold. Cold will change to freezing in two shakes of a lamb’s tail if you imply anything related to the word ‘useless.’

Also like most harsh people, or people in general, she’s not all bad. Really, far from it. She’s strangely altruistic, generous, charitable...etc. From little things such as lending anything and everything, to bigger things like being willing to take damage so she can shield others in a combat scenario, regardless of the real importance of said scenario. It’ll be almost instinct to protect others. Part of this may come from her extremely protective nature, not just of herself, but of friends as well, few as they are. Nurturing would be a huge overstatement, but she does feel the need to protect even acquaintances. She also somehow ends up the listener a lot. Well she certainly wouldn’t be the venter. Those things she reserves for painting. She’s gotten good at it over the years though, as her sister is definitely one to vent, and often too. Even if they drifted apart, Cerise never hesitated to help. Just as she never hesitates to help in other situations as well. Provided they come to her of course.

Intelligence and smarts-wise, she performs very well in school, though not ‘straight A+’ student, still ‘straight A and B student,’ usually excluding subjects that could be affected by her disorder, though she still makes sure to earn the best grades she can, and usually doesn’t do too too badly, as it’s only mild dyscalculia. This, though, usually comes at the cost of countless hours and hours and sleepless nights and caffeine, to study. Really, she struggles a lot in those subjects, enough to garner the type of effort stated above, plus a tutor. So, yeah, that would be a lot. Concepts she can grasp well, but the equations just escape her. Memory isn’t the best either… In other subjects, she does fine, though still goes the extra mile to get that extra point or two. When she wants to relax and get away from everything, in her limited spare time, Cerise does like to paint a little, and has a love of books, mostly fantasy.

Aura and Semblance: Cerise's aura is a cerise red hue. Her aura strength and quantity is above average, though its abilities are very few and effectiveness is spotty at best, usually not being able to do much more than protect her and heal minor wounds.

Cerise's semblance is Return for lack of a better name. It allows her to return to the place she was at a specific amount of time prior to the present. For instance she could use it to evade attacks in a combat scenario by adjusting her semblance to go back a few seconds. The furthest back she could go would probably be about four minutes, which by then she would immediately pass out. At three minutes and over she's very tired, not able to fight, at two and over she's sluggish with a slight headache and at one and over she's a little tired. After using her semblance once, Cerise has to wait a minimum of 7 seconds before using it again, though it should be noted that if she uses it from 7-12 seconds after the previous use, a headache will start to form regardless of how far back she goes. In one day, the sum of the time she goes back can't pass an hour. If she meets that limit, she will be unable to access her semblance any longer. Her semblance doesn't do anything other than returning her to that place, no turning back the clock on wounds or supplies or ammunition, nothing like that. As for effects, basically none. She simple just poofs back there, no smoke or fog.

Currently her semblance is spotty. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Combat Behavior: Cerise has a very aggressive style of fighting, using strength to power her attacks. However she isn’t a hulking behemoth like some others, so she does retain a good amount of speed. Unlike speedsters though, she uses speed hand in hand with strength to try overwhelming her opponent as quickly as possible. Also unlike speedsters, her speed is far from being enough that she could completely rely on it. Cerise’s capable fighting does have a drawback of being tiring, more so than other styles. Though she has trained to increase her endurance over the years, this doesn’t negate the fact that her combat method is quite taxing. Because of her high aura strength Cerise will also be willing to take hits for whoever else she is fighting for if it’s not a solo operation. She’s not going to playing for the long game most of the time anyway. To compliment her semblance, when she gets it to work of course, Cerise moves around a lot in combat just in case she needs to use her semblance to get out of a sticky situation. Not acrobatic, but very mobile. To add a little spice to the game, Cerise frequently uses dust in battles, not just for her weapon but in its powdered or crystal form to shake things up. The number of people she's fighting with generally doesn't affect Cerise too much in combat, though perhaps the more people, the more shielding, and the more she gets tired or her aura gets depleted. As for multiple opponents, it's possible since she could use her semblance to get out of tight spaces every so often, but two is probably the most she could handle.

WiP Characters / Cerise Carnelian (PROCRASTINATION!)
« on: October 22, 2016, 12:04:31 PM »
Name: Cerise Carnelian

Age: 18, Born Hitahita 24th

Species and Gender: Female Cougar/Mountain Lion/Puma/Panther Faunus

You're falling. Fast. It's dark too. You can't see anything. Pitch black everywhere, except for a little wink of light below you. It doesn't take long for you to reach it, possibly not long enough considering how small the light was. Someone might've sped up your descent. Suddenly you realize that though you've hit the bottom, the light is coming from absolutely nowhere. And the fall didn't give you a scratch. This is no ordinary place. As you walk around, you find that you're in an enclosed room with four walls. You can't see the place that you fell from. There's a ceiling. With a flash of light, something appears in front of you and the whole enclosure changes. Now the room is brightly lit with actual ceiling lights, the walls are a mint green, the furniture is a darker variation of that color and all of the parts that aren't fabric are a deep chestnut wood. Oh, and there's furniture now. Bookshelves line the walls to your side, windows covering the walls in front and behind you. Except they show wildly different scenes. The one in front is of a big city. The one behind is of a rural plain. And you're not alone.

Sitting behind the desk in front of you is a girl who looks like she's about nine or something. Adorable and short, but the glint in her eye paints a different picture compared to her innocent appearance. A teasing smile on her face, she says, "Welcome," before looking back at her laptop. As you look around even more, you see that your surroundings are definitely wrong. The bookshelves are normal, and so are the books that they hold, but the various picture frames strewn across the walls don't depict real people. They depict curiously anime-style drawings of characters with multi-colored hair. Multiple shelves are filled with video covers featuring some of the characters. The only photos of real people are actors and actresses from different TV shows and movies. The floor that you're standing on is seemingly filled with souls pounding on it, trying to escape. And the little girl is still smiling that evil smile, every once in a while scribbling something down with a quill. "You already know that this is no normal room. And you are not on Earth anymore. You. Are in the realm of the fangirl!"

At the last word, the souls trapped in the floor silently scream in agony. The girl is not bothered. "Don't worry about them. They're my pets. Do you want to see them?" Not paying attention to your answer, a pair of blonde twins emerge from the floor, shivering and terrified. The girl croons, "Don't worry darlings, you don't have to perform today." Then she sends them back into the floor, where they once again become translucent blobs with eyes. "All of them are here for my amusement. It's fantastic! They say I'm a bit... eccentric. A bit of a tyrant with my pets sometimes. But people say a lot of things. I do have to admit that they're kinda true though. Well, not kinda. They're true." Wherever she steps, the blobs avoid the spot, frantically shrieking silently. "But I suppose that you shouldn't come her yet. You're not ready. Maybe you should be introduced to me in surroundings that are in your world, hmm?"

A snap of her fingers and you're in a living room with a distinct black and white theme amongst the furniture. There's only one window filled wall this time, and it overlooks a dusty, big city. The language is foreign, not English. The girl has aged a couple of years, looking a lot different from the cutesy little girl in the realm of the fangirl. Still writing on a scroll with a feathered quill, she looks up and motions with one arm to the whole scene. "Well then. Ask away."

Okay okay, more bandwagon jumping! You know how it works, you ask me as The Mythic Scribe a question, I answer. If I feel like I can.

You already know how this works. Ya ask a question, characters respond. Simple enough, hmm?

Old thread for reference: http://rwbyfanon.com/smf/Archive2/index.php/topic,3267.0.html

Leycil:

"Who would I like to see? It would've been great to have my brother magically there. But unfortunately, you and I both know that it's... not a possibility. I think... I think that I've already met the person I'd most want to see at Beacon. If not than anybody. As of now, the need for trained huntresses and hunters are large in number. In specific, possibly some of the friends I had back in Mistral and Atlas. I remember this one girl named Riliane that was training to become a huntress. We were good friends and I would like to see her sometime."

"People with a better sense of humor! Tenne and Camelia are so uptight and Brooke's way too fragile. I need a partner in crime here people, someone who likes stirring up trouble! So fun. And you know what they say, Vacuans are the life of the party. I'd like to see some friends here and there, 'specially if it meant that they wanted to uh... oppose expectations or whatever."

"Oh, anybody really! There can never be too many people who want to help others! Never."

"Hmph. I'd like to see my sister here. See if she can keep up."

Natendo:

"Loss. I don't... like loss. I've already lost my father and brother. I'm far from eager to lose anyone else close to me. Especially my mother. Or Nathan. A close second would be being helpless. I don't like being helpless, not one bit. That seldom leads to anything other than failure and failure is not an option."

"That someday people will find out, y'know? I mean I know I was never an assassin or anything like that. But I don't think that my track record's really that great. I've committed a decent amount of crimes for cash. Wouldn't do me any good to have those deeds dug up, would it?"

"Oh! Well... Fear and death. Not dying, but the pain, the struggle before that. The fear that comes with a gruesome end."

(For Cerise, it will be again split into two, as she's not likely to tell you if you ask)

"What kind of inquiry would that be?"

"Isolation. And failure."

CHARACTER

Name: Primrose Aster
Nicknames: Prim or Rose

Age: 17, Born Niege 1, 63 AC

Species and Gender: Human Female

Symbol: A light yellow primrose on a white lace doily. The primrose's petals are slightly torn at the ends.

Occupation: 1st year Beacon student and part-time baker

Appearance: She's about 5'3", a pretty average height, and weighs 121 pounds. Her figure is slim and lithe with just a bit of muscle. A dancer's body, albeit shorter than usual. With fair skin, a heart-shaped face, a small button nose and big green/hazel eyes, Primrose is definitely not bad looking. She wouldn't call herself beautiful or stunning, but she's pretty, often thought of as innocent and sweet. This is not deterred from by her platinum blonde hair, always taken care of and always in a shoulder-length bob. If you look closer, which almost no one does, you can see the slight splash of freckles and her short, but dense eyelashes. Cosmetics are something that Prim would consider herself well-versed in, and seeing her using them is certainly not a rare occurrence, for she uses them often in daily life.

For her casual outfit, Primrose wears a long-sleeved white knit sweater. It's made of a few different knitting stitches, one in the middle, then vertical panels using different stitches on each side. In the middle is the widest panel, knitted in a condo stitch. Moving on outwards, it's the rib stitch, then the garter and loops, then the garter rib, then finally the plain diamonds stitch. She also wears a light yellow circle skirt over white sheer tights with little hearts on them. For footwear, she has bright yellow flats with a little bow on top of each shoe. In her hair is a little white and yellow polka-dotted clip-on bow. Glasses complete the look.

Her combat outfit is a plain white corset which has a back that comes up from behind, to form a collar around her neck, then go down to form two thick straps on her shoulders. Underneath it is a combat skirt, the bodice under Prim's corset. The skirt portion is a white flowery pattern over a primrose yellow background. She still wears her tights and flats, though the bow in her hair is gone, in addition to her glasses, replacing them with contacts.

The only change that Primrose makes to the Beacon uniform is the addition of her heart tights and glasses.

History: Primrose was raised in Vale by Rosalie and Sterling Aster, two loving and kind parents. Her mother was a baker while her father was a handyman of sorts. He did odd jobs and mechanical work, also crafting weapons here and there. Funds ran low more often than they would like, but they always prioritized their darling child, for she was also their only child. As a young girl, Prim often helped her mother with her business. At the time, it was only an online bakery, and Prim would take the calls and repeat the order to her mother. Needless to say, sometimes the orders got mixed up, but over time, Prim got used to it, and she absolutely loved working alongside her mother. She also loved school and was often a social butterfly, though she was also a big target for bullies. Fortunately for her, she had friends who would defend and help her. Along the way, her aunt taught her piano and flute for free, and after much begging and pleading, Primrose also took up ballet.

By the time she was about ten years old, her mother had finally saved up enough money to get an actual bakery. By that, she meant that she'd bought the first floor, which used to also be an apartment, of her apartment building, and transformed it into a quaint little bakery. It took money alright, but the whole family was still very excited and very happy for her mother. They lived in the suburbs, and only a block away from the public school too, so location wasn't a problem. Plus, she and her mother already had many customers from their online work too. With her father, his work with weapons was know fairly well known throughout the town, and his list of customers had increased significantly. They weren't the richest family in Remnant, but they were happy, and they lived a comfortable life, though Prim couldn't help but notice others who were less fortunate. Not the poor, the faunus, though the two did have a decent overlap. She'd seen many a faunus friend mention how their parents had to move to Vale because in Atlas, the only job they could get was being a dust dredger, which wasn't the best job out there. Some even had parents who'd died because of their profession in Atlas. That was when she started to sympathize, and started to develop a strong dislike (Prim doesn't like the word hate) for the Schnee dust company.

When she was in her teens though, Prim had seen a lot of bad in the world. On the very rare occasion that her family went out of the town, it certainly wasn't rare to be attacked by the creatures of Grimm in-between towns. Add in the faunus, and all the less fortunate, Remnant needed to be saved. And the saviors, in Prim's mind, were the huntsmen and huntresses. Her grandfather was a retired huntsman, and she loved to hear his stories about fighting Grimm, making the world a better place, having adventures and protecting everyone. Prim wasn't so innocent to think that being a huntress would be easy and just as fun as her grandfather said, but she wanted to help contribute to the happy and pure life that she wanted for everyone. Not long after she'd turned fourteen, her grandfather died. So just on a whim, she went to a trainer one day, and asked to be taught the basics. Now, she wasn't the strongest, she wasn't the best with a blade, or with a close-range weapon, but you know what she was? A good shot. A very good shot. The trainer was impressed, and Prim set her goals on getting into Beacon.

Over the next few years, the family managed to pay for Prim's training with the funds that they now had, thanks to the popularity of the bakery. Her mom had even started another one on the other side of town. Once she mentioned that she took ballet, and very briefly, rhythmic gymnastics, her instructor had the idea of using whips if she ever found herself in a situation where she had to fight someone without the possibility of going long-range. When she reached the appropriate age, Prim applied for Beacon, and passed. As a gift for her new year, her father made her the weapon she would call Wisteria, and bought her the whips.

Personality: Primrose is a sweet girl. She has a very positive outlook on the world, seeing it as a bright, happy place for a bright, happy girl as herself. She's an optimist, always bright, always having a smile present on her face. The only exception to her bright outlook is directed towards the Schnee dust corporation and all biased against faunus. She believes that faunus should be treated just like everybody else, and hates how the company uses the faunus and employs them in the most dangerous positions. Prim believes that they're just as human as everyone else, and is an active faunus rights supporter. When challenged on her beliefs, Primrose will stand up for them, as she stands up for most, if not all of her opinions. At least for a little bit. The problem is though, she's also a people pleaser. She always worries about others and their judgement of her, and tries her best to make everyone like her, hating when someone thinks badly of her. So when someone insults her, or gives off the impression that they don't like her, it'll be a deep wound for Prim. She'll desperately try to rectify this opinion, doing nice things and trying to seem the best she can, though she's already a very kind girl. Baking gifts for people is not uncommon.

However, there is a little chink in her armor. Prim is very sensitive, very timid when challenged, and if she works up the guts to disagree, it won't take much for her to rescind her words. When nervous, she'll stutter and start to fumble her words, which will in turn make her even more embarrassed. It doesn't take a lot to make her this way, nor does it take a lot for her to become scared, nervous, or embarrassed. It also doesn't take a lot for her to cry, which, as I'm sure you can tell by now, she does a lot. Interestingly enough, Grimm don't faze her. She can fight Grimm without letting out a whimper, but if someone acts mean to her, tears galore. But even though she cries easily, she's still a trooper. She won't give up easily, and her resolve won't be broken down too easily either.

Prim loves to dance, ballet in specific. It's been a hobby she's stuck with for a very long time, and if she hadn't decided to be a huntress, she would've tried to pursue a career in dance. For instruments, she plays violin and piano, and though she dearly loves both, Prim has taken a shine to the former more than the latter. She still loves them though, and will certainly play them as often as she can, as she brought her violin to Beacon. Old, classical songs are her favorite, ones that are light and soft, and ones that you can fall asleep to. Waltzes in particular. Baking is also a retreat that she values dearly.

Aura and Semblance: Prim's aura is a primrose yellow and her aura level is above average.

Pause: Allows Prim to sort of hold off the effects of hits and aura damage for a while, then unleash it all in a single burst when she stops using it on either herself, or others. The cost is 5% aura for each 2 seconds that she uses it, 2.5% for each second. Using this semblance, she can hold off the effects of attacks on others, make them feel overconfident, then unleash it all in a blast, to throw someone off balance. Or, she can use her semblance on herself defensively, to delay effects so she can draw out the fights and finish it. It should be noted that she can only use her semblance on one person at a time. If the strain system is utilized, Pause will take a good amount of effort from Prim, as well as concentration. Not enough that she has to stay completely still, but firing arrows is just about the most she can do. No fancy evading, running at most.

Combat Behavior: Prim is the type to stay back and fight long-range. Strength is definitely not her forte, so she usually uses her quick speed to go far enough that she can stay well enough out of danger. She uses this tactic both for Grimm and humans. If seen or targeted, Prim will use the ballet training and brief lessons of rhythmic gymnastics to evade the attacks, then try running to cover again, or run to higher ground. If directly confronted and her chances of running away unscathed aren't good, she'll bring out her whips and try to trip up the opposition, using acrobatic moves to make sure she doesn't get hit. Since whips might sting, but not do much damage to an aura-protected individual, Primrose will use them to knock her opponent off balance, or use the surroundings to her advantage.

Approved Characters / Bianca Li
« on: September 12, 2016, 04:42:55 AM »
CHARACTER

Name: Bianca Li

Age: 17

Species and Gender: Human Female

Symbol: Two crossed falchions over a burning flame. The blades are gray while the flame is white on the right side and black on the left.

Occupation: 1st year student at Beacon

Appearance: At the height of 5' 8", Bianca is fairly tall for a girl. She weighs in at about 143 lbs, falling towards the heavier end of the average weight spectrum, due to her muscular figure. Thanks to her home region of Vacuo and exposure to the sun during the time she lived there, she has a very tanned skin tone. Her hair is long and straight, falling to her lower back. Its natural color is black, but Bianca has permanently dyed the very tips of her hair white. No ombre or gradient, just a line of white about an inch thick at the very bottom. Her face is very angular, with a narrow jaw, sharp cheekbones and a defined nose. She has moderately sized, but slightly slanting eyes, which give off the impression that she's up to no good. Most of the time, it's true. Said eyes are a dark brown. Not dark enough to be confused with black, but dark enough that there's no staggering contrast between the iris and the pupil. She doesn't often use cosmetics, but when she does, she goes bold.

Her combat attire consists of a white pleated tank top under a black leather jacket cropped at the middle of her ribs. Bianca also wears pantyhose under high-waisted dark denim shorts, which are under the aforementioned tank top. Black combat boots complete the outfit. In these situations, her hair is braided, so it won't get in the way as much. It also should be noted that Bianca always keeps the jacket closed.

When it's just for casual situations, she swaps the shorts out for a high-waisted black skirt and adds on a heavy white floor-length cloak, parted so that you could see the clothes underneath. Her hair can be in any number of styles.

As for the school uniform, she either doesn't wear the jacket at all, or wears her own instead. Bianca usually sports a high ponytail during classes.

History: Bianca was born in Vacuo to Leanne Gray and Li Jun. Her father was a council sanctioned scavenger, or as many people, including her family, liked to call it, Scav. Her mother was a blend of mercenary and bounty hunter. Often, Bianca's father would join her mother on tasks. Both had gone to Shade for four years, and were quite adept at handling themselves. Surprisingly, they didn't die. Shocker, knowing their line of work.

But when Bianca came into their lives, their dangerous pursuits were set aside. Temporarily. They were both good parents, caring and understanding, but one often snuck away to do some new job. Whenever their little girl asked about it, the parent that was watching her at the moment described tales of fighting beasts and monsters, enormous Grimm. Saving people, being heroes. And she believed it. So she didn't question it when her mother and father started to train her in combat, once she turned nine. Though it puzzled her that her school wasn't a combat school, but just an ordinary one. Bianca just thought that she was going to follow in their footsteps. Fighting the big bad Grimm. Making the world a better place. Just. Like. Her parents. Stances and escape techniques at first, quick takedown and overwhelming techniques once she was in her younger teens. But that's still a ways to go.

At the age of eleven, her parents finally told her what they really were. Assasins, was her first thought. They were quick to correct it to mercenaries and bounty hunters. 'We hunt people that deserve to be killed,' they would insist. So little Bianca convinced herself that they were still in the good. And they did it for her, right? They did it for money, so she could have a happy life. It was working, too. They had a nice house, not a big one, but it was cozy, it was nice. It seemed that death paid well. Well, that and the scavenging, but Bianca convinced herself that it must've not been paying enough.

Two years later, that clinging grip to excuse after excuse was gone. She'd accepted it. And she now knew why her name meant 'white black.' That was what everyone thought, that everything was black and white. That there were good guys and bad guys. It'd only been two years, yet she was already sick of the neighbours and their whispers about how some people were disappearing, knocked down like chess pieces in some grand scheme. Apparently there was some high overlord, or perhaps they were even working for the White Fang. No, no, it was just money. The deeper your purse, the longer your list of enemies. It benefited everyone. Even Bianca herself had taken up some mercenary jobs. Not bounty hunting though. Never that. She liked to refer to herself as the gray. Not too morally righteous, not a downright villain. She liked the gray, and she had no qualms in admitting her standing on the moral compass.

Only a few months before the school year at Beacon would start, Bianca finally deigned to tell her parents that she'd applied, passed, and accepted. This had been done months before that, on an 'overseas job.' She knew that her parents would much rather have her be a freelancer or even a huntress in Vacuo. Somewhere close. But Bianca wanted to build a new name for herself. A small part of her still wanted to be the person that she as a child thought her parents were. She would always be gray, but she wanted to be a hero too. Back alleyways and being a glorified personal guard wasn't the life for her. She wanted to escape her life in Vacuo, and she wanted to escape from her parents. Their life, their job, everything. Atlas was definitely out, and Bianca had heard that Beacon was an exceptional academy. So Vale it was. Unexpectedly, they'd simply exchanged a look and remarked that she might just be a hero yet. So she made sure to tie up the loose ends, cut off any ties to anyone that might harm her reputation, that might tarnish her clean slate. And off she went. To Beacon.

Personality: Sarcasm and snark are the most prominent qualities, the ones that you'd notice right away after interacting with her. And you probably will be talking to her, or the other way around. Bianca’s quite chatty, though not the cute and blabbering type, the type that will never stop making quick quips or comments of a sarcastic nature during all scenarios. Even in the most perilous moments, she’ll always be ready to-well, not brighten the mood, exactly. Ease the tension would fit the bill just a smidge more. As a result of this, she tends to not be aware of other’s emotions too much, and often doesn’t know when to stop, both in regard to their feelings and to the situation at hand.

Fear is something that she doesn’t show around other people. With how she was raised, fear isn’t something that comes to her easily either. She may be uneasy or unsure, but true fear is hard to come by. If it does come around though, she will do her very best to hide it. And if we’re speaking of things to hide, she’s not great at showing her feelings in general. Not like shutting people out, just veiling them under a load of snark, quickly turning the conversation around when it turns to her. I’m sure you can already guess that she’s a bit of a lone ranger too.

Bianca finds it quite annoying when around the old upstanding citizen, the noble knight, righteous and always law abiding. Especially when they look down on the not-so-good types of people. Most people with an extensively deep purse also slightly tick her off, if only because of their lives of comfort.

It also might be apparent at this point what Bianca’s standing on the moral compass is. She won’t mind a bit of plundering or pilfering, as long as the person doing it needs the item in question. But stealing when you don’t need to, committing crimes when it’s unnecessary, that really ticks her off. Even though she thinks it’s okay in some situations, Bianca still thinks that stealing, murder, is still a crime. She isn’t all the way on the other side of the moral compass. Just in the middle, having just enough honor and just enough indifference regarding breaking the law. Curiously, the just enough honor and indifference also applies to her studies, where's she's average.

Lastly, due to Vacuo not having much forest terrain or even trees, for that matter, Bianca very much likes the outdoors. Not only does it feel nice and free, but it’s cool and such a contrast to her home region.

Aura and Semblance: Bianca's Aura is pure white (#ffffff) Her aura level is average, only able to heal minor cuts and wounds.

Bianca's semblance is auditory manipulation. She can make others hear whatever she wants to hear. It includes voices, fire, crashing noises, anything. It causes no aura drain to the person she's using it on. The cost would be 5% per every second that she uses it. If it's for less than a second, the drain is still 5%. At most, she can use her semblance on three people at one time, though with two people, the aura drain would be doubled. With three, tripled. After using her semblance on two people, she would have dizziness for around 15 seconds. After three, a headache for at least half an hour. Due to that, she usually rotates between people instead of manipulating the auditory sense of all at once. Since they're not actually hearing whatever Bianca is creating, no matter how loud it is, it will not damage their hearing. That said, her loudest output would be about 110 decibels. A note is that others can still hear other sounds, depending on how loud Bianca makes hers, so they could still hear their teammates if they were going to try to talk them out of it, or the announcers if they were announcing that Bianca's aura level was depleting. Usually though, Bianca uses her semblance to startle, not manipulate.

Combat Behavior: Starting off, Bianca uses her pistol to take a few shots at the enemy, to try tripping them up while she can. It should be noted that though she’s pretty good with her pistol, it’s far from her favored way to fight.

Due to her prowess in hand-to-hand combat, Bianca usually focuses on disarming her opponent, using the gap in her weapons to trap blades and staffs. Once her opponent is disarmed, she herself pockets her own weapons and starts simply using her fists and legs, knuckle dusters in hand. Instead of focusing on either her arms or her legs, Bianca uses both to rapidly overwhelm the other person. But her defensive skills are lacking, so if Bianca misses and leaves herself open, that would enable the person to hit her in quick succession, leaving her no time to recover. However, she can use her semblance to distract the other person, regaining the upper-hand.

WEAPON

Name: Ebony and Ivory

Primary Form: Two bladed tonfas, one white and the other black. The blades also have a gap in the middle, about ¾ of an inch wide, to trap blades in. The grips are the opposite color of the primary one, Ebony’s grip is white, Ivory’s is black.

Dust Functions: None

History: Not designed or forged herself. She bought them from a friendly neighbor who sold weaponry when she was thirteen. Bianca had no say in what it looked like, just saying that it should fit her style. So the neighbor, who’d seen her fight before, crafted a weapon that, if needed, could be used as a straightforward offensive one, but also had the use to disarm, to shift the balance in Bianca’s favor.

WEAPON2

Name: None

Primary Form: Metal knuckle dusters. The rings are rounded, there are no blades, spikes, nothing of the sort.
