Jocelyn nodded, retrieving said Dust crystals and the pouch they were stored in. Despite the previous exercise, she still felt no special affinity toward any kind of Dust, but she recalled the Professor mentioning his own link with Ice Dust, so she pulled the light blue crystal out of the pouch in hopes that whatever she was doing would go smoother.

Now came the decisive part. Calling up her Semblance came naturally to her, as the Dust crystal started pulsing with a unsteady glow at first, before strengthening to a consistent aura of light purple on the borders of the crystal. Infusing her memories into her Semblance was harder, but also achievable as the glow became stronger still. It was her sense of guilt that proved hardest to combine--simply calling it to her mind pained her, but eventually the aforementioned was all imbued into her Semblance. According to Professor Budonoki's instructions, she pressed the crystal to his hand, letting her Aura pass through the Dust crystal like a conductor.

"Makes sense for you to go back, leader." Graham idly commented. "Conquering your fears and all that. You'll probably also need to return there after you graduate anyway. And hey, any Grimm try to eat you again, this time you fight back! Not before they get cut down, but you get the point." He gestured at his sword. "Course, we can always turn down the mission if you're not ready to face your inner demons."

(OOC: Skipping Dusty as requested.)

The Professor strode briskly up to the group, lance folded and stored on his back. "After observation, I think both Nathan and Mogan have a point. Indeed, Grimm cannot use Dust. This is proven over many, many decades of fighting and observing. However, Mogan's point may hold water. Both Lancers that...mutated...were hit with an element, in this case lightning, not merely Dust. Following the fact that Grimm cannot use Dust, that is the most logical explanation. As to why..." the teacher frowned, "There was nothing of the sort in the reports I received. For now, once again, Mogan's advice is sound. Avoid using elemental attacks if possible, as we know that is one of the triggering factors for mutation."

During the group's fight, the sun had fully risen, shining its glorious rays over the small stretch of forest before Mountain Glenn. "It is high time we got moving, students. Follow me and try to keep your thoughts positive, if possible." the professor said before setting off in the direction of the ruined city.

All Graham did was shrug when he heard both the mission details and their team leader's predicament, before returning to his original position on his bed, seemingly without a care in the world in regards to their mission. However, those who weren't busy arguing or perusing the copy of paper would see the boy looking at his mechanised katana and butterfly knife with scrutiny, as if checking them for combat readiness.

It was a normal day in the life of team LLGD. Gray was failing to complete any classwork--he fully sympathised with him--as usual, Leona was stitching something that he couldn't be bothered to peek an extra two inches to clarify what it was, and even Lissa banging the door open and eliciting a string of mumbled jargon from Gray didn't faze him too much. Until she revealed 'what'.

Graham swung himself from his lounging position on his bed to having his legs on the floor. "Oh, a real mission? Such a shame if we got a fake mission, wouldn't it?" He spoke in his usual sarcastic drawl. "So tell me, 'leader', what's this mission about?"

Fine by me. Whenever you're ready, Floob! Also, do please tell me if and where Professor Talandar fits in, if at all  ;)

Ah. My apologies, this fever is messing with my brain  :(

It would save us some time and skip some overused ideas if we assume the team has been acquainted with each other already. As such Lissa breaking the news to the group would be a good place to start.

Mainly directed at Floob since he came up with the idea so he's our pseudo-GM for this thread. Just a reminder that having a general direction for the thread is better than just letting the plot go wherever. So knowing what the plot is going to be about before starting the thread.

Perhaps after Lissa randomly accepts the quest, one of the members asks my teacher for help or he notices the level of difficulty or something.

As the brainless Beowolves once again fell for the explosive lance trick, the resulting body parts burst everywhere like a shrapnel bomb. Not hard enough to do any lasting damage to Kei, but the energy from his explosion was another thing. In his panic he forgot to detonate it further from himself and took some of the explosion on his Aura.

So, that was that. Savas had made quick work of the Beringel. Acero was none the worse for wear, and Ribeiro had helpfully finished off the last of the Beowolves swarming him before. Kei looked at her only to see her turn away, resulting in a pang of sadness and pain. Almost bitterly, he turned away from her and said nothing, his face devoid of any emotion.

Battle Stats:
  • Aura Level: 75%

Sounds good! Only thing I might suggest is a small amount of brainstorming beforehand to solidify the plot before jumping headlong into RPing, but otherwise let's get this thing going!

"Thank you, Professor," Jocelyn said, astonished that a experienced Huntsman was singing her praises and taking the seat offered."It's delicate, this semblance of mine. Useful, without a doubt, but then I have to use it like I'm handling a baby--care and caution."

"The thing that springs to mind for me first is care--that I can keep others from ever being injured in fights, to keep their Aura topped up. Aura matters less for me since I'm usually in the back lines, so I'm really happy I can put my Aura to good use. Past that is a sort of personal joy, when I know that I am making a difference by saving lives. But even further down, in a corner of my heart, is a sense of guilt and regret. Guilt from knowing that my Semblance is a manifestation of my soul which has come to fruition only because my brother was hurt protecting me so long ago. Regret that I have, in a way, dragged him onto a vicious battlefield where he could die." She placed a hand over her bosom. "But that is a reason why I fight--to protect him as he once protected me."

Lel, was going to say I have a teacher too :P

I think I can confidently say that we don't need a GM since we can potentially run it ourselves. Personally I want to try something different, but I can understand if traditional initiations are more to your likings. It would be really interesting if we can get both teachers involved in a way that makes sense but I think that's going to be tricky.
