Appearance: Standing 5'10" with seemingly permanently disheveled brown hair, Lavan takes after his father's side of the family, save for his dark brown eyes which he gets from his mother. He weighs in at about 180 pounds, and has the build of a runner. He has a scar just under his left eyebrow from when he got into a fight with one of his many brothers and was clubbed in the face with a rock when it turned too violent.
History: Lavan d'Artagnan comes from a long, long line of Huntsmen. Even before the formation of the schools, the d'Artagnans have been protecting the people of Remnant from the creatures of Grimm, and has played a prominent role in virtually every military encounter in recorded memory. Lavan is the youngest son of the d'Artagnan line. His father is a retired Huntsman and created Lavan's weapon, Moonlight Shadow. It is tradition in his house to hand the weapon of the patriarch of the clan to the strongest most capable fighter. However, Lavan's father passed his weapon on to him, the youngest of 12 brothers. While certainly a talented fighter, he is by no means the strongest or most gifted of his house, and this has earned him a black mark from his brothers. Lavan is determined to prove to his family that he is worthy of his father's gift.
Personality: Lavan has a tendency to be a bit overeager when it comes to his life in general. He's eager to make friends, eager to please his teachers, eager to prove himself, and eager to fight. This has a tendency to get him into trouble, but his drive often allows him to pull off spectacular feats... though this could be dumb luck.
Aura and Semblance: Lavan's aura is white. His semblance is the ability to create tethers made of aura from his limbs, typically his fingertips. These have an incredible tensile strength; it's virtually impossible for them to be pulled apart, but they can be severed. He uses semblance to employ his weapon, but also uses them as whips and grappling lines. At his current skill, he can generate 6 at a time, though with training this is likely to increase.
Combat Behavior: Lavan has a bad habit of thinking that he can take a great deal more punishment than he actually can, often leaving himself open for attacks. This overconfidence and forgetfulness comes from the fact that his weapon, Moonlight Shadow, doubles as armor for him. This coupled with his aura does make him able to take a punch better than most, but for Moonlight Shadow to be used effectively, it must be used with his semblance, resulting in a drain on his aura. He functions best as a mid range fighter, and while he certainly isn't afraid to get up close and personal with his opponents, at longer distances he's pretty much useless.
WEAPON
Name: Moonlight Shadow
Primary Form: A long, gray, patchwork duster. It has a mantle and falls down to just bellow his knees. The coat serves as armor.
Secondary Form: Using the tethers that he creates with his semblance, Lavan is able to direct the small pieces that make up his armor and use them as bladed weapons, either hurling them as shuriken, or keeping them as bladed whips. Every piece that Lavan sends out of his coat creates a literal hole in his armor, so he has to remain cautious (something he is very bad at doing).
Tertiary Form: In time, Lavan will be able to form the pieces of his armor into limited constructs, such as a crude drill or physical shields on his forearms.
Dust Functions: Individual fragments can be imbued with Dust, though as each individual fragment would need to be treated with Dust, it isn't practical to do it consistently.
History: Moonlight Shadow was created by Lavan's father when he was young, and was used by him for decades. As a Huntsman who was able to live for a very long time without any sort of lasting physical injury, the patriarch of the d'Artagnan clan is a formidable Huntsman indeed, due in no small part to this extremely effective and dangerous weapon that he designed.
